I used to go to Greenstones on the UES when my son was a little bitty thing. Yes, it is rather pricey but I am willing to pay more for unique and Europeam trendy clothing that I know is well structured and will last longer than Old Navy.
The associates have been working at the company for some time and are very knowledgeable about the European clothing companies and sizing. They are very helpful and will give you the one on one attention.
Sign up for their sale specials and you will be the first to find out about special sales. I personally buy next seasons clothing for my son at the sales because they offer 25−50% off if not more although I would not wait until the last minute.
