This is a little known secret of NYC for a sunny brunch. Lovely views from a rooftop. Not pretentious. So relaxing. A bit on the expensive side($ 20+/brunch entrée) but you’re paying for the location. It’s not on OpenTable so you have to call the hotel yourself. I didn’t try too many things here. The margherita flatbread was pretty good — not too oily but perfect for hangovers. The OJ and coffee were also quite good too.

I went here last night with my girlfriend and we were surprised by how cozy, chill, and intimate this space is. We called ahead to make reservations, which I would consider a must unless you’re staying at the hotel. Don’t expect a big crowd, at least not on a Friday night around midnight — my sense is maybe this is more of a sunset place. The maitre’d was very nice and escorted us to a table. The views are very nice(I would say there may be better/higher up views, considering you’re not facing the most interesting sights and the walls are pretty high up). Also, the drinks are ridiculously expensive($ 19 for a cocktail/martini) but they’re fantastic. Overall, I’d say it’s a great place to get together with a group of friends for a party, maybe an after-work drink, or a romantic drink with someone you love.

Now I like the rooftop much better than Rose Bar. You can only come here if you’re staying at the hotel or know someone. Either way this is a peaceful, quiet space very different than the raucous atmosphere of downstairs. If you can get in they have an especially nice brunch that is just beautiful on a sunny summer morning.

Went last night. Swank. It was empty but we were with some industry people and friends so it was still fun just lounging around. Beautiful décor, staff and extremely cozy at the fire place. Go there for the experience if you ever get a chance. Its an experience. If you can, get the seats at the fireplace. The lights above you will have you staring and wanting to drink some real absinthe.

Very, very cool! Granted, very exclusive and very private(suppose to be for hotel guests only and close friends of Ian). I was fortunate enough to visit this cool spot the other night for a few drinks. Beautiful space with a 360 degree view of the city from the 16th floor. Very loungy and relaxed feel. The roof retracts 100% so in the day and night is very impressive. Drinks are mucho dinero but you are also paying for the hot cocktail servers/models. Even the lady refreshing the restrooms was hot! The indoor spaces are gorgeously decorated. One room has thousands of faux light bulbs covering the entire ceiling… very cool! If its a nice night out and you can get up there, I highly recommend it.
