Gracie Cafe

I’ve only come for Sunday brunch. I’ve been a few times and have always enjoyed the brunch special which comes with a dish from a limited menu (most come with house potatoes/​bread), juice/​mimosa (a small cup, maybe 3 – 4 oz), and smoothie (decent sized).
Staff was not personable but was always quick and accessible. Service was always good and food looked fresh. Environment is nice place to hang out for a group of 2 – 4. This is basically the only place I’ve been to on a more regular basis in the UES. Price is ok compared to other nearby alternatives.
I usually get the Huevos Rancheros. I ordered the Mexican fritatta fort he first time yesterday which was also good.

This place fluctuated from a B to A health rating quite often. Staff is ok — nothing special. Food is mediocre. Bathroom is gross and cleanliness of restaurant needs work. Nice to sit outside, but other than that, nothing to go out of your way for

Good food, but I’m one of only three people here and still can’t get the staff’s attention to get my coffee refilled…

Roach ran across our table as we were waiting for our food so we ran out of there. I know New York has roaches but they should say hi to me at the table. Yuck!!!

How can you get a simple bacon and egg order with a coffee wrong? Come to Gracie’s café and find out. This place is overpriced and quite disgusting. Looking at the menu now. $ 5.50 for an OJ. Lovely.

Not a bad place considering it was very near to where I was staying. A little disappointed they didn’t have roast pork for Cuban but really not a deterrent. You can sit on the sidewalk which I enjoyed. Wait staff was good and food I settled on was satisfactory. If you are looking for something quick, inexpensive, plentiful menu, then try this place. I chose a burger, cooked just like I wanted but the fries were best I had in a while. I will revisit this place if I’m in the neighborhood again.

A favorite neighborhood joint with a diner-​style menu, that is not fancy but tasty an fresh nonetheless. Reasonably priced, friendly efficient service.

Not a bad spot-​the service can be rather spotty but the food is generally good. Recommend getting one of the daily specials as they are usually a much better deal.

It is a cute little space with outdoor seating during warmer months and it is warm and cozy in the colder weather. The food is nothing amazing, but consistently good to often great. The cooking was off for a short spell some time ago, apparently because of kitchen staff transition, they are now right back on track and I continue to enjoy impromptu dinner and lunches with friends here.
This is my ice coffee spot– the price is right (unlike the Starbucks across the street) for everyday grab n go, and unlike most other places that have ice coffee for sale– they brew it FRESH for ice coffee drinkers. If you are an ice coffee fan, you know how much of a bummer it is to walk away drinking something that was obviously recycled– bottom of pot burnt, stale coffee saved to be cooled for next day’s ice coffee sales. They never do that here– ever!
The salads are great– highly recommend Mediterranean salad, with perfectly cooked juicy grilled chicken and grilled vegetables with Balsamic dressing. The new summer steak salad is Fantastic, good quality meat and a delicious addition to the menu.
The panninis here are always a great bet.
I’m also a fan of the pasta dishes here– very filling dinner and very well executed for location/​price point. Always enjoyable.
They have beer on tap now, great prices and seasonal selection so far.
Staff and ownership have that family style feel, and the service is always attentive, swift and friendly. As a regular, there have been a couple of times where service was not 100%, but there was always some circumstance behind it– fluke short staffing or simply someone new on their first day type of thing. Most of the time, the service is 110% and it looks like management is always improving or updating something– and not just the prices! :)

I was eating philly cheese steak and my gf was having some kind of wrap. Food wasn’t good nor bad, just meh. Waiters were attentive, no complaints there. Then a cockroache showed on the floor crawling… I will never come back to this place nor any of Gracie affiliated in upper east side. It was just flat out disgusting.

The burger was fatty and burned, but attentive staff compensated for this

Came here today for the first time. Waitstaff was very friendly, food was pretty good, overall a good experience. I would come back again and you can give it a try too. Nothing very special but good enough. Try their fresh squeezed orange juice. It is very refreshing and comes with the brunch. Don’t be surprised by the small serving cup though.
Also, mimosas come with brunch options. Really good. Made with fresh orange juice. Yum!

Dont like to start negative but service was horrible and ppl were leaving left and right. My wife and myself wont be visiting back anytime soon (ever)

Good food with very nice staff! Prices are good and its a cute little corner place to grab a quick meal. Breakfast deals are my favorite, such a steal! Good portion sizes, and a ton of options to choose from.

Decent prices, I’ve only come here for breakfast and lunch; the food is always good, but never great. Can’t leave tips on your card so be sure to bring a little extra cash. Depending how busy it is, you could wait anywhere from 5 – 15 minutes for service once your sitting down. A decent place to stop for breakfast or lunch on your way to do bigger and better things.

Very good food, very good service.
I like their cheeseburgers which *don’t* taste like they’ve been peeled off a roll of patties. Order them well done and you get them well done. I also recommend their Cajun chicken sandwich: nice and spicy.
My wife likes the fresh salad and fruit salad. We’ve eaten here a lot and never had a bad meal. The staff is very nice; weekday evenings are usually fairly quiet, though lunchtime can be very hectic. I’m glad to see them getting the business — they deserve it.

This is my go to place for good diner food.
I’ve always been a burger and fries person.
They make a pretty good cow-​sandwich.
However, I have more to say.
I recommend the make your own salad — I’m usually not a salad person, but their ingredients are fresh and delicious.
My favorite create your own salad:
— Grilled Chicken
— Croutons
— Sun-​dried tomatoes
— Roasted red peppers
— Olives
— Mozzarella Cheese
— Olive Oil
Try it out — I promise you’ll be amazed.

We love coming to Gracie Café. The staff is super friendly and the food is always spot on. We especially enjoy the pancake breakfast and fresh squeezed OJ.
Of course the burgers are always a fine choice or they have a great salad ‘bar’ with many choices.

Good food, good service! Quite place with a nice outside seating area. Prices are good too!

This is a decent diner. We went for a Sunday afternoon lunch with a bunch of kids. The service was okay, if a bit slow at times. Our waiter was very friendly and understanding with our brood.
We all had wraps, veggie & Mediterranean and they were good. The kids had pancakes which they seemed to enjoy.
All in all an okay dining experience.
The bathrooms were very clean.
