Really only came here because a friend had a deal($ 50 free) and we wanted to go to some place near work. It’s interesting because there’s a bar in the front with limited seating and then a bigger dining area tucked away all the way in the back. Since we really only wanted drinks, we opted for bar seating. We stared with a round of shots($ 13) which was kinda pricey given this isn’t a fancy hotel bar. We ended up getting wings, calamari and then 2 – 3 more rounds of well mixed drinks($ 5) since it was HH. The wings were really good and had a lot of flavor(we got a mix of all three flavors) and the calamari was yummy. The bartender was nice and fast with refilling drinks. Even though the food and service were good, I probably won’t be back because this is more of a bar you’d go to if you were staying in this hotel.

Oh my goodness, the service was phenomenal. My date brought me here for a quick lunch and we were beyond satisfied. The food was delicious and the meals are large. As we were getting ready to leave, the chef came out and offered us fresh cake pops, and invited us back on Wednesday. We’ll definitely be back.

We came here for Seinfeld trivia. We were not expecting to go to a hotel restaurant/bar but I guess they aren’t normally busy(there was only one couple eating who was not a part of the trivia group). I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t eat, and my boyfriend had just eaten dinner so he ordered the dessert(they have 3 options: apple pie, brownie with ice cream and one other dessert). My bf ordered the brownie and he seemed to enjoy it. If you do order an entrée, you are in for a BIG meal. I mean, the portions are humongous here — very generous, albeit they don’t really offer any healthy options at all! The prices were on the more expensive side because of the location(my bf paid $ 10 with tax for his brownie) Anyway, we had a lot of fun because we were doing seinfeld trivia, the server was attentive enough, food was brought out fast, and they have a few tv’s that was playing the game if you want to eat alone and have something to watch

Excellent service. I don’t write many reviews online. I sort of hate doing this because most of us suck at giving reviews and I’ve been mislead quite a few times when going by the review. However, this one is worth it to me because it’s more of a reminder to myself than anyone else. Food is hit and miss. Either pretty amazing(all burgers and desserts) or pretty whatever(most other things). Now we get to the part when I tell you how they earned five stars. First of all, I met chef Alex tonight and he gave me a hug. No homo. He has got to be one of the friendliest chefs I’ve ever met. This place has the friendliest and chillest atmosphere of any hotel eatery I’ve ever been to. You show up, and they are either surprised and happy to see you or just happy for no reason. It’s pretty amazing and you get great service without extra effort to convince anyone. Now for the food. I always get here around time for a buffet style meal, and I always find something good to eat. However tonight I met their burgers. They are wonderful. That is coming from an old school In-N-Out employee; their burgers are amazing. Enjoy it, but get a discount if you can.

How to judge a hotel bar… Drinks and service, ambiance, and how awesome is it in general with«other guest» appeal. It is pretty great, no doubt. Incredible service, and possibly the best dirty I have had in over a year. That’s saying a lot as I have had some top shelf dirty Martinis in the past year and to say a small hotel bar has an incredible one sounds like I am writing this with the drink already ingested. Ok You have me there. And it wasn’t the FIRST drink of the night. But let’s be honest. A basic drink doesn’t come down to the bar, it comes down to the bartender. In this case our bartender was a master of the libations. Anthony did a great mix with massive olives and a bedside(barside) manner that would put many bartenders to shame. When your in Hell’s Kitchen or leaving the port authority and wanting a well poured drink, pop in. It has all the things you would want, except maybe a hot crowd to mingle.

Oof. I came here for trivia on a Thursday night with three of my girlfriends. We were already set up with a table because we rsvp’ed for trivia, so not a problem there. The restaurant is indeed, as other reviewers have indicated, tucked into the back of a hotel on 40th street. Odd. You walk in and they are bewildered that you are even there. Anyway, there were 12 tables for trivia and 4 servers that we counted. It was a planned event with everyone rsvp’ing, so there shouldn’t have been any surprise at the amount of people in the room. Basically, the service should have been way better. (The room is cute, it’s essentially where you would have breakfast after staying at the hotel. Odd choice for a trivia location.) Two of us received water after asking for it. One of the waters had no ice and a piece of food it in. I had dirty, ketchup-crusted silverware. They replaced both when asked, but still not appetizing. We were trying to flag someone down for about 45 minutes so that we could order dinner. We really wanted to eat before trivia started,(8:00) which is why we got there early(6:30) but alas, that did not happen. Our drinks stayed empty, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as they were somewhat overpriced. Why the trivia company picked this place I will never know. We battled fruit flies while waiting for our food. My friends all ordered bacon burgers, which tasted like bacon burgers. Nothing to write home about. They got everyone’s cheese requests and cooking temperatures correct, so that was good. I got the chicken sandwich. Meh. Dried out chicken, thin pre-sliced mozzerella cheese. The bread was good. The fries were soggy. Three of us got two drinks each and a meal. One of us had three club sodas and a meal. The bill came to $ 130! They charged us for each club soda, which I mean, I guess I get. But really, it just seems unnecessary. It was not a pleasant experience. I would not return, I would not recommend.

It takes a lot for me to not eat bacon. My pancakes, the dry ones with no fluff, came with my choice of side. Bacon is an option so I didn’t bother to look to see what else there was. All four pieces were clearly cooked on a flat top together, because the middle two were raw. The waitress was confused when I pointed this out as though she didn’t see the issue. None-the-less, she quickly offered to fix the situation and brought me four more pieces out. One piece was edible, the other three were still stuck together. Whatever … won’t be trying a third time. If you want a spendy crappy meal served in the back of a hotel lobby, Gotham Bistro is your go-to place.

We arrived and there was one other table there with 4 people and our table of 2. Our server was courteous and took our orders, but it took a while to come and so they offered us comp wine which was very thoughtful. Then our app and entrees came. The crab/shrimp app kind of tasted like it was under my expectations from a hotel restaurant, it almost tasted like it was microwaved but I was hungry and will eat anything at that point, it was toasty and warm! Then the entrée came and my pasta dish was missing the shrimp add on I requested. I pointed it out to the waiter and said it’s no big deal, but they had the bartender send us another round of drinks which was funny and very nice of them. We’re not that picky if the waiters there are super nice! The sauce of the basil pasta was really good, just needed some sprinkles of salt and pepper. The dessert hazelnut crème brûlée was a bit too sweet and too crunchy on the top layer though, it didn’t really taste chef-cooked. Overall I think my experience here was really good becaues of the service, I would come back again to give it another chance because of the employees!

I must say, this is a phenominal restaurant. I had the grilled veggie sandwich with a side salad topped with the house dressing, delicious. My husband had the burger with fries, everything was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised as we work right around the corner, we will definitely be frequenting this place more often.

This place has the most amazing burger I’ve had in the city. I have made a point to visit every time I’m in NYC. Located inside the 4 Points Sheraton, it isn’t far from Times Square and has yet to disappoint. The burger has a pretzel bun that adds so much flavor to the already delicious burger. Highly recommend trying it! They also have a coupon that adds incentive to those who wanted to try it.

Definitely not destination dining but I had some food while staying at the Four Points Midtown Hotel and sitting at the bar up front. The shrimp po-boy was fantastic — not really a true New Orleans po-boy but just a great sandwich of lightly fried shrimp with a slightly spicy sauce on good, fresh ciabatta. Another guy at the bar(who said he was the doorman next door) was having the burger which looked great and he said that he was a regular at Gotham Bistro because the burger is always great. I have to think this place does 90% of their business for hotel patrons but I gotta say I would eat here again — for breakfast, lunch, or late-night because there are too many other great places in NYC for dinner.

We ventured here on a Friday night before a show. It’s hidden in the back of the hotel and the atmosphere can be best described as strange and confused. There was one waitress who was servicing the dining room as well as the bar in the front, and her attention was hard to come by. The actual food was decent, I had the times square salad, an interesting mix of vegetables, ham, chicken and mozzarella. My friend had the Spanish ham and cheese sandwich with fries. The fries were perfect, thin and crispy and delicious. As far as Midtown dining choices go, this is an ok choice(especially if you use a gift certificate as we did). However, due to the complete lack of service and strange atmosphere we probably won’t be back.
