I got the midday madness juice and it tastes watered down. Way too much ice. Friend got a burger and it was really good. But he might have just been hungry. Overall a very clean place and the desserts look really good.

This place has always been my go to for cheesecake and a quick fix of something sweet. Unfortunately this is no longer called the bread factory it’s called gourmet brick oven 55! This place must be under new management, and the staff including a four eyed Mexican are quite rude! So moving forward I purchased a cheesecake mini 2x and a carrot cake for my daughter. Under absolutely no circumstances should any refrigerated pastry and sweet decadents should ever taste like refrigerator! They obviously make their sweet treats a week and advance and place them on a pretty display so that the customers can be suckers and waste their money on food that isn’t fresh! The four eyed Mexican obviously had a problem with me coming down there, he tasted the one cheesecake that was untouched and had the nerve to tell me that it’s absolutely great and there’s nothing wrong with it! I have tastebuds that can sense quality, and honey I must tell you that it tasted like crap! You know when you leave something in the refrigerator way too long and the taste of the actual food diminishes, and what’s left is that refrigerator taste? Well that’s exactly what it was. He refused to give me a refund and stated to me that he can give me something else! I said no, I’d like my money back! I never back down when it comes to me spending money and I have to return something! You damn right he gave me money!!! Never again!!! My next move was to call the cops, I’m sure he didn’t want that. No I would not recommend this place to anyone. Little pie company makes a higher quality of food than these ripoffs. Buy at your own risk!

Have tried this place twice. It is a chaotic mess. The cooked breakfast was flavorless. Bakery items could be good.

This is probably a 2.5 star place. Nothing is downright awful, but nothing is really great quality and most of it is overpriced. Shop offers pizza, cakes/pies/desserts/pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and various other assorted stuff. Desserts are reasonable, but a little pricy. Pizza is reasonable, but again about a dollar more per slice than it needs to be. Mostly this place is… fine? Inoffensive? There’s no reason to plan to come here, imo. If you want pizza go to a better pizza place, if you want a sandwich go to a better sandwich place, if you want dessert, go to a dedicated dessert shop, etc.

Getting salad from here before a workout night. So with four veggie toppings, it was priced at 6.5 — a very good deal in this area. I customized my salad with one protein with three toppings and liked it a lot. In terms of speed and service, I noticed that some Unilocalers were complaining about how slow this place could be — I guess I was just fortunate enough to avoid the wait.

I stumbled upon this place when some out of town friends were looking for dessert and coffee after a show. We ordered the bread pudding, it had a rich layer of custard and it was fresh and by far my favorite of the items we tried. It was also a very generous portion that served 3 easily. We also got a fruit tart. It was perfect, the fruit was ripe but not overly so. We also ordered an éclair, which we took home because we were full. Next time I’m craving sweets I will most certainly come back here.

Breakfast was ok, on the other hand, this is breakfast my 8 year old would also do, and probably better. We also had a Lady Banana Berry smoothie and a juice. The smoothie and juice was totally ok — on the other hand, there is not that much that can go wrong just putting stuff in a blender and pressing a button. There are no prices stated anywhere, there are no menu to get once there. And given the basic nature of what they serve I would say it is a bit overpriced. It became quite apparent that their main line of business is catering. Very apparent, actually — since they packed their catering boxes just next to our table. Even using the table in our four seat group to put some trays on while we were still sitting there trying to have breakfast. As a summary; customer service and a making sure customers have a nice setting is not their thing.

I looked up «The Bread Factory Café» at 9th&43rd street, Manhattan via the Internet to peruse their MENUE prices. After viewing their MENUE prices online I decided to pay a visit. I entered the store and quoted a few prices for certain delicacies as advertised online. I was very shocked when the counter girl gave me totally different(in store) prices than what I saw online. The counter girl shrugged and said«Oh those are online figures) & we have different prices. CONCLUSION If your retail Bread Factory is advertising one set of prices for customers to view online — and then give totally different prices when they make a journey to your shop(25% higher), THENYOUAREUSINGDECEPTIVEADVERTISINGANDAREDECEIVINGCUSTOMERSWHOAREMAKINGANEFFORTANDJOURNEYTOGOTOYOURSHOP and then discover all your INSTORE prices ARE25% HIGHER. Does the NYC Consumer Affairs Department know about this deception? Your Internet prices should reflect actual store prices and you have an opportunity RIGHTNOW to junk your Deceptive On-Line Internet MENUE Prices to allow potential clients to view the ACTUALTRUEPRICES. I will be checking for this correction in the coming weeks. It is called«Truth In Advertising» law.

Woke up and figured I would try to find a pastry shop. Looking at reviews to find something open late was a challenge, except Unilocal guided me to this particular spot. Even at 0330 when nothing else was really rolling, this place was ONPOINT. The cannoli and coffee was delightful. Guy at the counter was a little schmuck-y with his«welcome to ny» tude. But what the hell. It’s really early(late? Whatever) Highly recommend the fresh pastry and coffee. Let the cookies and hamentashen sit there. Don’t even look at em. But oh. The cannoli.

Horrible. I went there this last Monday evening and ordered a small coffee– to which the woman behind the counter announced the price to me without my asking– as if she had spotted me panhandling outside. I then decided and(regretfully) got a few cookies. The woman/cashier was rather dismissive and curt– even though there was not one other customer in the store. Being that there are at least 7 – 10 other stores in a 3 block radius that sell coffee and sweet treats– do you REALLY want your employees to be dismissive and curt ??? The cookies were hideous and reminiscent of scabs pulled off of someone’s sores. AVOIDTHISTOURISTTRAP !!

I give this place 1 star only because they overcharged the prices! Especially if you seemed like a tourist!

I thought the food here was pretty good. We ordered two breakfast items and it was large enough to share between 3 people. The coffee was just ok, the bread used for the breakfast sandwich tasted fresh and flavorful. We were heading out of town so I grabbed a fruit cup to take with me on the bus and every single piece of fruit was juicy and sweet. Staff was friendly with us and the place itself was clean. I guess my only irk is the pricing seemed a bit high on certain items especially for pastries, just seems way overpriced for something that was just ok. Other then that I’d have no problems coming back here again.

Maybe just bad ordering. We were just walking the street looking for a desert after some great Maoz Falafel. This place looked clean and the deserts looked good. I stupidly did not look at my Unilocal app first. Would have gone elsewhere. Live and learn. We got a fresh peantut butter cookie. Looked great. Taste, not so much. Dry. Real dry, and just not good. Did not even eat the entire thing. Maybe a 1 is not generous enough but I can’t bring myself to giving 2. If it had been edible enough to finish I would maybe give it a 2. There are too many place in NY to get desert to waste your money here.

I came across this place because it was the only coffee shop open in the area at 11pm. Decent coffees. I liked my caramel Chai. Only downfall would be that the tables weren’t clean when they needed to be, we had to wait for a few minutes.

Oh, man. That was pretty terrible(pic attached). I got the red velvet belgian waffle, and for a whoppin’ $ 10, it was all burnt lookin’ and tasteless. Yuck. I only ate ¼ of it, as you can see :/

This is a good place to get a cheesecake for an office get together. Fresh and delicious. The only other thing I’ve tried here were some cookies, which weren’t that great, a little on the stale side. For some reason, even though I work in the area, I have never been tempted to come here for lunch. It is usually packed for lunch, maybe that is the reason? I saw some good reviews on the pasta, perhaps one day I will try it.

Seemed like a great spot to snag a quick breakfast… Entered off the puddle-strewn streets with a mission: yogurt parfait, and scoping out lunch spots. I found the parfait in the refrigerated case towards the back and had to convince myself to stick with the healthy alternative — — - sandwiches and wraps and bakery items and YUMYUMYUM! The space smelled comforting: coffee and fresh bread! Patrons were seated and munching on their meals in the narrow row of tables(focus, Marcy, focus!). At the checkout location: I waited.(waiting waiting waiting). Then more people came up behind me. We waited.(waiting waiting waiting). At last(FOURMINUTESLATER) a young woman came up and hurriedly accepted my payment. The product looks(and smelllsssss) amazing! Perhaps this was an off-moment…but in the city that never sleeps, you can’t afford to fall asleep(or behind) at the counter.
