This place is PERFECT for summer. There are big trees, they have fun striped straws, refreshing watermelon cocktails, it’s like being on beach. It’s very chill and it’s a great place to sit back and catch up with friends while having drinks.

outdoor restaurant bar that’s takes you out of New York Frozen watermelon margarita is exactly as amazing as it sounds Food is good although overpriced I wouldn’t dine here although the food is good but the prices are pretty ridiculous for what your eating($ 24 burger, $ 9fries) nothing special just a big plate of salty fries… I would only come with friends on a nice sunny day for drinks Weekends are busy so I would avoid them

Terrible service, not enough staff working the long weekend, left before ordering anything. Really wanted this place to be good. Great location and concept, lovely warm evening, Saturday night(6pm), not too busy– could see some tables free. Group of 5 of us arrived and didn’t see the small sign advising us to wait to be seated. Walked into bar area and was told by harried/busy looking waitress to please wait for host to seat us. Sent back to entrance area, no sign of host. Waited 5 minutes for host to arrive at desk. Seated quickly and then no waitress. Same harried/busy waitress stopped by our table twice to say she would be back shortly to take our order. No water. No waitress. We left as no one bothered to take our order and first impressions did not bode well. I will happily pay $ 15 for a good cocktail in a cool atmosphere but SERVICE must also be good. To Management– you need more staff and those working should be more polite even when busy. Fail.

An outdoor oasis on the cusp of TriBeCa that you need to check out before summer in New York goes bye bye. You could scatter a few umbrellas and serve me warm gin in a parking lot and there’s good chance I’d enjoy myself. Just being outdoors with drink in hand is my ideal way to spend a warm summer night in the city. That said, Gilligan’s is one hell of a way to sit around in short sleeves and jorts with a tasty cocktail by your side. A lot of folks on this review thread have pointed out the high prices for drinks, however they seem to be right in line with any cocktail bar you mosey into around Manhattan. $ 14 is the going rate for a mixed libation nowadays. You could complain, but there’s not much good that’s going to do. If you don’t like it, please sit in your windowless apartment and enjoy a Hamm’s. Means more room for me on this fantastic outdoor patio. If you’re into blended drinks, order the watermelon margarita. It comes complete with a salted watermelon wedge as a garnish. It’s the stuff summer daydreams are made of.

We went there tonight with a largish group of Australians. The venue management are much nicer than I remember them being. This place was open a couple of years back — the staff had a bit of attitude then but tonight everyone was very polite and bar staff had good customer service. It was a Tuesday night so this probably lead to better service as the bar was quiet but give them a go!

Place full of palms and plants which is great, place feels cozy and as you are on vocation. But We were waiting for food for 45 min and it is way overpriced. I might come back for drink but not for food

Wasnt allowed to get a martini, and they have restrictions based on the neighborhood and the hours they can play music. Their aperol spritz is good and its a romantic/cute place with the tea lights to grab a drink with a date or friend. I think i prefer to go inside the hotel next time. At a thursday at 9pm service was lacking, took forever to get my drinks

Went for drinks on a Wednesday night, place was almost empty. We sat at a table by the bar, there were 2 bartenders behind the bar who didn’t even acknowledge us at the table. My bf had to go to the bar to order drinks, plus wait there to bring the drinks back to our table. The drinks were sub par, not worth the price, served in plastic cups No service plus bad attitude from the bartenders plus crappy drinks equals bad review.

Stumbled upon this place by accident during a Happy Hour bar hop. The vibe is cool and the people are cool too. I like that its at a nice hotel and the service is great. I had a few Narragansett beers and my friend slurpped on some fruity special drinks they were creating behind the bar. The set up is cool and very bohemian like with pebbles and sandlike floors in certain parts of the courtyard. Def a nice spot when its warmer.

Pop-up or not, this place makes me wish I had spent every weekend afternoon here this summer, hanging out with my friends at a white picnic bench, playing cards, drinking dark and stormy’s, and enjoying the surf-tastic themed music. The drinks are solid, the service is attentive, and the pizzas are tasty and served hot out of the oven. The only knock on this place(hence the 1-star deduction) is that it does get expensive… the drinks and the amazing ambiance make it way too easy to loose track of time and loose count of just how many watermelon margaritas you’ve guzzled. This spot reminds of Surf Lodge out in Montauk(without the beach of course), or Bungalow in LA. It transports me to a place where the muggy NYC streets and smelly summer sidewalks completely disappear for a while, and that is A-OK with me. This place makes me happy. Case closed.

Fabulous drinks with a fabulous atmosphere. I’ve been here twice and have really enjoyed it. Not only do I adore the Soho Grand hotel from previous hotel stay but the bar is a treasure on its own. Delicious food, too! We ordered the pizzas and they were filling and tasty.

Gilligan’s is as cheesy as every other themed beach bar not by the beach is. Are we shocked given the Soho Hotel location? Um. No. Fortunately, thank god, Gilligan’s delights in the cheesiness– its existence is more in line with the insert-theme-here-birthday-party than the leg cramp that is the permanent fixture Halloween store that sells Halloween garb year-round. It’s also a Pop-Up, thank god again, as this particular Pop-Up lacks originality and is an affront to Manhattan’s inherent superiority, wrongly perceived or otherwise. It gets really busy, which is fine because the space is gigantic. They serve brunch if you’re interested, I’m not. In the evenings they take reservations and have bar food– there are long wooden tables in the back area. The crowd is young, smug, dressed well enough, and very attractive in that $ 30,000 Millionaire kind of way– everyone reminded me of my friends back in Dallas or California. It’s not overtly douchey but I did see one such drunk pseudo-adult drop his beer, consequently splattering everyone within range and then not apologizing after as he and his friends laughed hysterically. Yeah. The lack of subtlety across the board is so very un-cool.

I LOVETHISPLACE. How have I never heard of it or been there??? Built along the side of the Soho Grand, Gilligan’s is a little respite from the busy streets of NYC. It transports you to an idyllic island community complete with pitchers of fruity drinks, people dressed in flowy white outfits and plush couches to sit on. Living the good life. I’ll be back… hopefully tomorrow.

This place is so cool and so much fun. 1 star off immediately for calling it a pop-up. Just because you change the décor, it is not temporary. Soho Grand has the space and it will always be there. Such a lame way of branding. Wonk wonk. With that being said… It is such a cool little spot! Drinks are a tad pricey, but it is a hotel bar. Drinks are very good and a lot of fun. They have their own beverage list. All of which you can polish off pretty fast. Decent beer list. You get a slice of watermelon(awesome) with your HellorHighWatermelon(gross). Lots of watermelon themed beverages. Bartenders are cool and give you a generous pour.

As the other reviewers said… Drinks are pricey. You pay for the ambiance. They do have some great frozen drinks: Watermelon margarita with sliced watermelon and some sort of chilli or paprika flakes on it. Skip this place on the weekend as it can tend to get too crowded(daytime is probably ok). Came on a Wednesday night, no fuss great places to catch up with friends in the great outdoors with sand on your feet. Makes you forget your in the middle of Manhattan. I guess paying $ 14 for a drink is better than a roundtrip ticket to Montauk?

I love everything about Soho Grand… which is probably why I «almost» live there. Gilligan’s has a lovely vibe to it — I think the brunch menu is a little scarce and I prefer the dinner menu. Still, it’s the yard and how can we go wrong with that.
