Consistent good and in a fun area. A popular spot for girls to go out with friends and in a fun area. Also had good drinks and is a big location.

I wanted to love this place but had major food poisoning. It’s very tucked away in Soho so it’s not much foot traffic. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, the service was lacking. Was gonna try it out and bring my family here when they come visit but I can’t risk it now.

Came to Galli on Mothers Day with my mom and grandma. We made an unnecessary reservation because the place was pretty much empty for an early dinner. The front is very dark but the back room is filled with great natural light from the sky lights. Galli has a very trendy vibe and is a great spot to meet with friends. The food was great — we got some wine, a few apps and I ordered a spinach salad with grilled shrimp. All of the food was delicious and came out promptly. My mom wished the minestrone soup had less noodles and more beans and veggies. The manager or owner was walking around to make sure everyone was doing well. My only complaint is that they play very loud bumping music. I feel like for the vibe it’s a bit too loud and doesn’t really fit in with the feel. It also wasn’t talk pleasing to my 82 year old grandmother.

Favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan! Great Italian comfort food, big portion, best service ever! We booked 9:15pm but arrived a bit early(quite earlier actually at 8:30pm). The server found us a table any way despite the busy hours. We ordered a couple appetizers to share, and all of them were really delicious.

Came here for dinner w some friends on a Monday night, so place was a bit empty. I liked the atmosphere and the music they played, although it didn’t really fit the place(mostly played hip-hop). Also, the drawing on the walls in the bathroom was a bit odd(you’ll see) The service was good, but not great. Our server got my friends order wrong, but she offered to exchange it for something else, but my friend was hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer. The Gamberi dish was really good, and so was the pesto. My friend wasn’t that impressed with the chicken parm… I had wanted to try dessert, but our server told us the kitchen was already closed — so I wish she would have asked us if we would’ve liked dessert prior to the kitchen closing. So overall, I enjoyed the place/food, but not crazy about it.

wine + pasta = the hot chicks will come Great spot for happy hour and some comfort food. Great atmosphere, OK service(they get busy/overwhelmed), fair pricing for a soho spot.

Food: 3.5÷5 Service: 3.5÷5 Ambiance: 4⁄5 Came here for dinner on a Friday night without reservations. We were luckily seated right away which was nice. The ambiance here is dark and I could barely read the menu without a candle. Tables were small and space was tight(you could hear the whole conversation at the next table). However, the ambiance was really nice and seem more of a date/night type of restaurant. PS. the super dim lights(or no lights) were not great for photo taking… Service was OK. Our server was friendly and pleasant but did take a long while to come around and take our order/check up on us. However, I did appreciate that she got the kitchen to have our dishes split into two plates since we were sharing. Food wise was ok, nothing that really stood out(except for the pasta). We had their special calamari(Mad) which was tossed in spicy marinara sauce — flavour was pretty bland. Arugula salad was average, needed more dressing and cheese didn’t taste fresh. Finally the vodka pasta was the best of the three items. Enjoyed eating this pasta as the sauce was absolutely delicious! I would order this again. Good selection of wine & drinks.

I had a great dinner here Friday and after many glasses of wine I promised the waiter I would write a review. The place was packed when we got in, and they couldn’t seat us for 10 minutes. The staff was very apologetic and when we were seated, we got a great table. It’s quite loud, but you can still easily carry a conversation. Young and trendy crowd. At the waiters recommendation, we ordered 2 dishes: the Camberi Pasta and Chicken Fancese. The food was outstanding and the portions were big — great for sharing. The best part of the night was how friendly and accommodating the staff was: they brought us dessert, 2 more glasses of wine, and vodka shots on the house before finally kicking us out at 12. Even though it was a busy Friday night, we didn’t feel rushed to give up our table, and I actually enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant more as people cleared out. Will come back again — thank you!

Cute, cozy Italian joint. Might be a little too dim for my liking, but I get it. The romantic date factor here is skrongggg. I had the«Bella Bahia.» The creamiest cocktail I’ve ever had. It was like ice cream in a glass. Sooo smooth and yummy. Then I had the«Berry Serio.» It had vodka, St. Germain, lemon, raspberries, and thyme. Definitely more on the sour side and I liked my other drink better. Food was delish. We shared the grilled calamari salad instead of the fried one and it was sooo much better. And I loved my pasta with the seafood fixings. It’s my go-to whenever I go to Italian restaurants. Wouldn’t mind coming here again whenever I’m in the area.

Came here for a quick drink and bite to eat so I sat at the bar during happy hour and all of their food is delicious! We shared the fried cheese, calamari, and something else that I can’t remember but everything was good! I definitely will want to come back here for dinner because I saw them bring food out of the kitchen and I wish I was more hungry the first time I came!

Great little spot. Came to satisfy my first craving for pasta in 2016… & I AMSOSOSATISFIED. This is a typical(small) NY hole in the wall; dim lit and at an avg $ 25 – 50 per person depending on your ability to resist appetizer/beer/wine(which I can’t… so $ 50) I shared the Baby Rice Balls, Norma(pasta), & Chicken Parm. Im not sure I would recommend the baby rice balls– it brings 3 and they’re actually baby sized. They have meat as well, so its not your traditional cheese and rice ball of heaven. The Norma on the other hand was FABULOUS. Very delicious! Its the kind of dish you can’t resist & order again on subsequent visits out of fear that no other dish can compare. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoy veggies in your pasta! Chicken Parm was basic. Large, and definitely perfect for sharing, but no wow factor. Overall, really a great experience. Great staff, seating options, and delicious food!

Came here with the family and had a perfect experience. Cozy spot in Soho with a great mix of 90’s hip-hop(did not expect from the look of the place). The food was fantastic! I personally had the pescatore in white sauce wich was great and I tried everything else as well. I would suggest the steak and fries wich was delicious. what I will be ordering if I return. The baked clams for an app would also be a wise choice. The only thing that could be improved upon was the salmon wich was slightly bland. The staff were friendly and utmost professionalism was shown. For a party of four and a half the bill came to about 260… this included about 4 apps, 4entrees, and 7? drinks(no complaints on those either).oh, and one desert(delicious). 5STARS

A cozy and slightly cramped eatery in the SoHo neighborhood, providing a small enough establishment to be intimate but with a decent amount of patrons to create a mini line to the single unisex restroom. Service did not disappoint, prices are extremely fair for the area, and the food + atmosphere are enough for me to stop by again when I return to the city. The Grilled Calamari was exceptional and perfectly cooked; the arugula salad was very well seasoned, and I would definitely order this again. I thought the flavors of my Steak Panini were great, although, I should not have ordered my meat rare, as the tough cut of beef required a steak knife… to eat a sandwich. My cousin ordered the Pollo Fusilli with Broccoli Rabe – a pasta dish that’s light, yet filling for a mid-afternoon meal. For those who may not be able to find nearby street parking, I would highly recommend Park In Auto Service. It’s a very short walk away from Galli, conveniently located near adjacent neighborhoods(i.e. Chinatown, LES, and Little Italy) and cheap in comparison to other nearby garages.

3.5 stars. Dim lighting and loud music with an overdressed crowd that wouldn’t stop talking about apartment-hunting, brunches, and who slept with whom. That’s your ambiance. –1 No fresh Parmesan cheese. And you say that you’re an Italian restaurant??? –1 What’s redeemable about the place is the food itself: pasta prices that match the food perfectly. Surprise! Okay I’m a little harsh. We ordered: — bolognese $ 16 — carbonara $ 16 But no Parmesan cheese :(when we asked for it, the waiter brought over a little glass jar that was probably filled by grated cheese from Trader Joe’s… Overall it was fine and filling for a place so close to SoHo. If you can walk a bit more down to Little Italy, you might be able to find something better and more authentic. It is NYC, after all. There’s always something better around the corner.

A great little gem in SoHo! intimate lighting, awesome décor, just enough candlelight without it being too dim that i cant see my friends or my food. service was friendly — I think our table had a new girl who was nice and eager enough to serve us, but slightly disjointed when it came to the actual service(forgot some specials, drinks didn’t arrive all together, etc. but nothing bad enough that it wouldn’t make me come back) The food though, is what certainly stands out at Galli. You would be remiss if you didn’t start off with the grilled octopus. Beautifully seared, not rubbery at all, and with just the right amount of sauces and potatoes on the side that you can actually make it a nice meal on its own if you weren’t that hungry. We also tried their chicken liver pâté. Now, I have that irony taste in my food, but this pâté was very well done. Served with wonderfully crispy hot bread and a nice fruit compote, it was not only tolerable but actually quite good! For dinner, we tried 2 of their specials that night — a vegetable gnudi that was basically a very light, very flavorful dumpling of sorts… quite tasty indeed! We also tried their fluke — thinly sliced, flaky, fresh pieces of fish with an amazing sauce. The flavors were so great, I definitely wanted more. Too bad the serving size was exceptionally small. Good thing we also tried their pizza — fire oven baked, thin crust goodness with kale and sausage and white cheese on it — definitely big enough to share among the three of us, with a few extra slices to spare. Overall, we had a great meal at Galli. If only some of the serving sizes weren’t too small for the prices we paid, I would have happily gave this place 5 stars. Still a great choice for a romantic dinner or a celebration among friends… or even just a random Tuesday night out!

I walked into a lovely atmosphere and left with an average experience. Our waiter was really nice. He consistently refilled our glass and brought us more bread. But the food was not consistent. The free bread was really hard. I had to really work my teeth to gnaw it. The chicken parmesan was delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy. The seasoning was perfect but the seasoning for their pasta palate was bad. There just wasn’t anything special about it – just a whole chunk of salty tomato sauce layered over the pasta.

Galli has a very unassuming air to it as you walk into its simple and clean interior, and then it blows your mind with the food. I strongly suggest everyone try the steak and fries here. I decided to trust Galli and order the steak medium rare, and they did not disappoint. The meat was so tender and juicy, and they use a marinade that’s reminiscent of Korean barbeque. The fries are thick and potato-y, and the salad added a great, sharp flavor-kick in the mouth(a good kick… if that’s possible). I also got the mad calamari and the rice balls, and while both were very delicious, you definitely need someone’s help finishing them off. The flavor is strong and you need a little break from it every couple of bites. Order these to share! Service was attentive and kind, the bathroom is clean and cutely wallpapered, and I had a great experience, overall.

OK, so I finally made it back(in person this time) and a great meal, this is really more of a 3 ½ star rating. The food is solid, but the cocktails are freakin amazing. The No Name(mezcal, jalapeño, lime) and the Hells Hundred(bourbon, ginger beer, cayenne) are strong choices. I don’t even like bourbon, and while the ginger beer did take center stage there was enough whiskey in there to taste it, it was just very well balanced. Anthony and the brunette lady working the bar were both fantastic. I ordered the mussels again and this time was not disappointed. The broth was on point and the mussels were cooked perfectly. The grilled calamari salad was great. The«mozz chips»(fried breaded mozzarella) are fine if you’re looking for something deep fried, but there are stronger choices on the menu. Like the baked clams, for instance. The star was definitely the Gamberi: rigatoni, shrimp, and broccoli in a pink sauce. YES. This was done freakin right, and it’s what I’d order if I found myself here again. I came on a Friday night and once a certain hour hits the place gets sort of… clubby? Loud house music, people lining up just for the bar and not ordering food. Like I said, the cocktails are certainly strong enough to stand on their own but I can see wanting to cut out earlier if that’s not the atmosphere you want.

Upon arrival of this establishment we were asked if we had a reservation — we didn’t but were still seated immediately. The décor and ambience of this place was more towards the romantic side but for my girlfriends and I we were still able to have great conversations over food. The appetizers and the complimentary bread were absolutely delicious. We got the dozen clams and as most reviewers said; they are superb. They were definitely the highlight of the night. The chicken parm sliders were great as well(each order comes with two). Entrées were great, but mine was absolutely horrid but still edible. 3 of my girlfriends got exactly the same thing(steak and fries) whereas I was more leaning towards a pasta dish since we were at an Italian establishment. Do not get the pollo pasta — I repeat — DONOT get the pollo pasta unless you like bitter greens on it. Yuck. I tried the steak and fries and I had wished I had gotten that dish as well. Service was nothing remarkable, she did not even leave her name and only showed up once to refill our water and asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. When we said no she just tossed our check on a plate down on the table. I felt like the bus boys were definitely friendlier than our waitress. Definitely will return for the clams and the steak and could do without the diminishing service.
