Fast service and all you can eat peanuts, can’t ask for more. The tables here turn very fast so seats are always available. The staff is very efficient and fast. Food is way better than most fast for places that sells burgers. Just don’t step inside if you have a peanut allergy, the whole store has peanuts everywhere. They even cook their food in peanut oil.

The burgers are absolutely good, but the fries are why i come back .All future, non-Five Guys fast food french fry-eating experiences are destined to be ruined after you have them. The fries are crispy but the interior has a creamy consistency and tastes like an actual potato! .On teh whiteboard they even liset where they came from The :Little Fries” order goes a Looooong way here. They always give more fries than you order. and there is always a fries overflow !! For how buy this tourist trap location gets, the service is friendly and quick!

Long lines, overpriced due to the city, greasy burgers… I’d try to go to grand central and grab shake shack instead!

I have a five guys back home and after searching for an hour for somewhere to eat we decided to go here. Food was good as always, they give tons of fries, crowd was average, staff was cool. Love the open kitchen here.

Decent chain food. It’s a little bit of a heart attack but you do not doubt the ingredients are fresh. You get your monies worth here, hearty. You better be hungry if you order a large fry, share them if you are with company.

Rushed over here at 3 in the morning coming straight from bar hopping in the lower east side. We were on the hunt not just for any type of burger, but the best burger. Knowing that they close at 4 am we took our chances. Got there just in time. Surprisingly at that time there was alot of people there for the same reason I was, looking to sober up with deliciousness. I ordered 3 burgers which by default come with two patties instead of one, two small Cajun seasoned fries which in reality are large because they dump more in the bag and a bottled water. Don’t forget if your hunger cannot be tamed they have unlimited peanuts. You can eat them while you wait. My order came out pretty quick in about 6 or 7 minutes and it was pure heaven. Definitely helped me sober up and even took one home. Best burger in NYC!

Burgers are good, french fries are disgustingly greasy And some of the crew cleans up with their hands touching garbage and then they touch food on the grill. Saw it done a few times. Gross. That was 3 months ago. Talking about yonkers store.

What can I say about Five Guys… A little history: First Five Guys location was in Arlington, VA(1986). Due to the popular demand, they opened five more locations within five years. Hmmmm I’m starting to think that the number five has a lot to do with decision making with them. In 2003 they started selling franchises which duh sells out. Too bad they don’t have one for Hawaii as I would buy one. In 2009 Mr. President Obama himself made news by going into a Five Guys and ordering cheese burgers for himself and for the news crew that was following him around that day. After that, Five Guys had everyone talking about who they were and how do they get a burger like the President. Yes even this In N Out guy had to go look for one. One of the first things you will see is a big barrow with peanuts inside. Yes those are free to eat while you wait for your food. I think by now everyone knows about their burgers and how you have a wide variety of choices to customize your burger to your taste. They also have killer fries too! I’ve always told my friends that the one thing Five Guys is missing was having a good shake. Come on man, shakes go good with burgers and fries. As I we were walking through the doors, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had take a step back and do a double take as I saw that they were now serving shakes at select locations and this sells them. What a treat, what a treat! I got the salted caramel and it tasted really good. My nephew got the coffee or the peanut butter one and he said he really liked it too. All in all, everyone in our group liked their food and shakes. This location like the rest I’ve been to, were friendly, happy, and helpful.

Mediocre and overrated. The burgers are super thin and flavorless. The fries are soggy and too salty. The assembly line they have set up is unsanitary. The same guys who preps the burgers touches other things. They line the buns up with the veggies and put the bacon on there while the pattie cooks but then the bacon gets cold sitting there. They don’t melt the cheese with the burger. I just can’t. If you want a greasy but delicious, quick burger go to Shake Shack around the corner. Much better quality food.

A-OK. A better option than the McDonald’s down the block and you will probably end up spending the same amount of money in Times Square. A faster option than the Shake Shack around the corner and equally as tasty. A much better, tastier and bigger burger for the same price than Whitman’s inside City Kitchen at the Row Hotel just 2 blocks away. Cajun fries are solid and spicy, so I enjoyed them and they overflow the container with them so you get more than enough. Solid choice for lunch or to save some money if you just spend $ 500 a ticket to go see some Broadway play and are over living lavishly for the day.

Voilà un restaurant typiquement New Yorkais.

I’m here right now. I have to say the food is awesome but the wait after your order takes sooooo long, for a fast food place anyway. This is understandable though, when you consider that 42nd street is super busy. The people working here are really nice and it’s a great place to chill out and talk with friends.

For taste alone, 5 stars — for this place as a whole 3 stars. Came here because it was a little less crowded than a lot of the eateries in a busy Saturday Times Square. We were«lucky» to get a table. After placing the order(2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks totaling $ 29 by the way — gotta love Manhattan overpricing) we waited for our meal. There are two rows of tables and a line that goes past the tables which is a little stupid. If you’re going to place an order, it should be near the front and then to wait in the back. Can’t say I was pleased that there were people standing in line looking at us while we were eating our food… right next to us. They really should change their interior format, because it’s pretty poor. They called out my order number and I picked it up. Even though we were staying, it was thrown into a brown paper bag. Ok, no problem. Upon opening the bag however, the fries completely consumed the bag to the point where we literally had to eat our way down to our burgers. I’m for extra fries, but this was a little much. I was nearly full before I was able finally see and retrieve my burger from the bottom of the bag. All in all, except for the people inside, the meal was as good as I expected and very filling. I needed to use the rest room and wasn’t made aware that customers needed a code to enter the locked bathrooms. I made my way back to look at the receipt and there was the code, but some weirdo ended up getting to the door before me(though I was technically there first) and since it was the place’s fault for assuming every customer knew about this«code», I entered the women’s room — of course to find no toilet paper. Ahh, gotta love Manhattan. Staff were busy and except for the guy that called out my order who seemed like a zombie, they were pretty friendly despite the large volume of customers. Good food even though it’s overpriced(as pretty much most things in Manhattan are), but if you’re not a fan of the crowds, I would suggest not eating at Times Square and going to one of the other many locations throughout the city. Remember to save your receipt if you want to use the restroom because you need that code to get into the bathroom.

If you have nut allergies, you might actually be killed just by walking into this place and getting a whiff. Pretty much everything here is fried or cooked with peanut oil, and it’s absolutely delicious. The burgers are simply incredible, albeit on the greasier side. I usually get a double bacon burger with cheese, and then an order of small fries. I always stick with small fries, because Five Guys restaurants everywhere put in the small fries into the paper bag, and then take another giant scoop of fries and pours it into the bag. Basically, small fries become large, and large fries become heart disease. I have been to this location a few times, and the food always tastes just as good and greasy as it does at other Five Guys locations. The wait here at the 42nd Street location is usually slightly longer than the average 10 min or so wait at other Five Guys locations. Also, due to the proximity to Times Square and the major touristy Midtown areas, this location is ALWAYS packed. The assembly line moves pretty fast, but like I said, the food takes some time to cook because of the sheer amount of people. Also, there are technically a good number of seats available, but it’s hard to find a spot because there are just so many people. Also, it isn’t great for groups, since they try to maximize seating options by making less tables and more counter style seats. The only major qualm I have about Five Guys restaurants in general, and a lot of these other gourmet burger places(like Shake Shack) is that there aren’t any combo meals. You need to buy everything separately, making the total meal pricier than the average burger at your run-of-the-mill American restaurant. Oh, and on a side note, I absolutely love their high tech soda machines: the ones that spit out like a hundred different types of soda. It’s one of the greatest things ever to grace the food industry, and I’m a huge fan.

When I had Five Guys for the first time a while back(we’re talking a few years here), I was absolutely in love. However, I got the Hamburger(comes with 2 patties) and fries today, and was hugely disappointed. The burger itself was lacking a LOT of flavor and was just overall very bland, which I was surprised by because I don’t remember my other experiences with Five Guys being this unsatisfactory. The fries were not impressive either — yes, they do give you a lot, but it was just overly salty. Also, good luck finding a seat here. You’re in Times Square, what do you expect?

Good place for burgers and yummy Cajon fries. I don’t come in often but when I want a good tasting burger this is a always a good choice. Prices are very fair for Times Square food. Locals and tourists can enjoy this place evenly. No complaints for this spot but it is pretty much runoff the mill so 3 stars s a fine reiew =)

Thank you for staying open so late to feed us intoxicated fools! ATMOSPHERE: If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. Big dining area, messy by closing time. FOOD: Cheeseburger — With everything! That includes mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup & mustard. The patty was tender & juicy and has a real homemade taste to it. Fries — They’re thicker cut shoestrings natural fries. SERVICE: Fast and efficient. OVERALL: Pricey ala carte menu with great taste.

Five Guys is like Times Square. Overrated, crowded, full of tourists, and bad food. I’ll never understand the fixation with Five Guys — the quality of the burger is no better than that of McDonalds. The good is that the burgers come with custom toppings with a lot of varieties at that. O and they have those cool futuristic soda machines. The bad is everything else — the location, the staff, the seating, and above all — the burger. It’s made quite haphazardly — toppings and bun all tossed on carelessly then smushed and wrapped in tin foil… yes so appetizing The fries are way too oily — as in you can see the oil dripping out of the brown paper bag they put it in. The burger again is smushed/soggy and the ingredients are all falling out by the time you take your first bite. Even the free peanuts can’t seem to make up for the lackluster food here. Head down towards 8th ave and 44th st for Shake Shack(lines will be long) Or east to 33rd st and 5th ave — to Smashburger(farther away) Both are a lot better than Five Guys
