Hilarious, saw with both David and Alexander. Alexander was the better actor.

Great play with amazing cast! it’s unavoidable to see something from «Seinfeld» in the play with Larry David as a playwright and Jason Alexander in the play, but the play itself was really smart and very funny! As parents of almost grownup kids we found it a little sad as well. You will understand why when you watch it.
Acting in the play was suburb!

So here’s the deal: if you are a Curb Your Enthusiasm/​Seinfeld/​Larry David fan then this is an absolute must. I was actually on the verge of tears at points because I was laughing so hard. I saw the show with Jason Alexander instead of Larry, and thought he did an outstanding job. I was surprised to see that ticket sales have apparently declined since he took over, but he deserves (and received) a standing ovation. The plot line is also unbelievably clever, absurd, and hysterical.
From my perspective, this well deserves 5 stars, but I don’t think it’s for everyone as it requires a unique sense of humor to appreciate it.
I also bought my tickets through the mobile app «Today Tix». The seats we had would have been more like $ 120 but I spent around $ 70 for each, and they ended up being fantastic. I guess you are taking a bit of a risk in that you get the «best seats in the section that are still available» so on a crowded night they might not be so great, but it worked out well for us!

It really saddens me to see all these great reviews. It scares me to realize that I live in a society that holds nothing sacred. The actors were great and the cast is truly star studded. But the subject matter of the play is absolutely repulsive. I left after intermission.

Jason just could not pull off this roll. Had Larry been performing it would have been hilarious.

If you are Seinfeld and/​or Curb fan, you gotta do this! We are huge fans and wanted to go when we heard about Larry David is coming to Broadway! We finally got tickets when we heard that Jason Alexander (George in Seinfeld) will be replacing Larry. The show is hilarious and was so much fun. After the show, we waited at stage door to meet with the casts, but we didn’t get to take photo with anyone but Jason. He was the last to come out and basically greeted fans and took turns to sign our playbills, take selfies and joke with us. We did see Larry and the other casts as well. As a note, Jason was super nice to make sure all fans waiting gets their photos and playbill signed. So don’t worry if you are too far back… He will meet you!

If you enjoy Larry David & Seinfeld’s comedy style, then this play is a must-​see! Jason Alexander and the entire cast put on a great performance. Comedy at its best with an ending that has a twist (a very funny one, of course)!! It would be great to see more shows like this one — much nicer to go see a new play than a re-​make where you know the story line, etc… Also, there’s never enough plays or movies that are truly funny!

It was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. If you are a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan or even a Larry David fan, this is a great show.
It was like one giant episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Larry David basically played himself and he gets himself into some crazy situations that all could have been avoided if he didn’t try so hard to fix the issues «uniquely.»
Not sure how great it would be with any other actor but with Larry, it was a hit!

LOVED this play. I live in L.A. and was hearing so much hoopla about this play so when I was going to NY I knew I had to try and get tickets. My family didn’t really want to go but since we all loved Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld they relented and we all went. My kids are in their twenties and absolutely loved this play. We didn’t stop laughing the entire show. We saw it with Jason Alexander and he was outstanding as well as the supporting cast. My son’s girlfriend never watched Seinfeld/​Curb so she didn’t get a lot of the humor and tones. If it comes to Los Angeles I will see it again.

It’s like a live Curb your Enthusiasm episode. Larry David at his best. Great story and performances. It’s a limited run. Larry is being replaced by Jason Alexander for the final month.

Hilarious! Must go! This was pretty much a 2 hour Seinfeld episode. Which is awesome because I am a huge fan of Seinfeld. But I think it was well written. Very much Larry David’s style of humor. I definitely recommend seeing it!

We absolutely loved it!!! The theather was beautiful. We were sitting in the balcony box which was nice but the views were a little obstructed but it was nothing major.

I saw Larry David in Fish in the Dark and it was, Pretty, Pretty, Pretty BAD! I am a Seinfeld/​Curb fan and was so psyched to see this show. What a disappointment! Every review I heard was ranting and raving about how funny and creative the play was. It wasn’t, I never laughed once and the plot stunk. The theatre crowd seemed to enjoy it, not I. (Maybe they were tourists from the Midwest and were just so excited to see a Broadway show.) Big scam, the show blew big time. It’s like the English Patient Seinfeld episode where Elaine went to see the movie everyone loved, and hated it. Trust me, this was not good. I grossly overpaid for crummy seats on Telecharge and couldn’t wait for it to be over. I still like Larry David and think he is a very creative artist, but this was sub-​standard and hyped so much that the public bought into it. Hey, the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes!

Pretty Pretty Pretty Good!
When I heard Larry David was on BROADWAY I said «Oh Shit» cause I knew I had to go. So on my journey to THE BIG APPLE last week I bought tickets and witnessed the genius of Larry David’s FISH IN THE DARK. Im so happy I went, Larry David is a mad genius of comedy and this play cemented his legacy.
Wonderful supporting cast including Ms Rosie Perez and Rita Wilson aka Mrs Tom Hanks. The show itself is like a live episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, so for you fans of the show you’ll love it. I shall not give u details of the play, however if you have a dysfunctional family then you will laugh thru the entire production.
Enjoy the show!

Nothing like a good laugh on a Friday night after work. Larry David is his usual sarcastic self and you realize how much you miss Curb and Seinfeld. The rest of the cast is also terrific, including Jake Cannavale. As good as his father Bobby — I miss him on Nurse Jackie.

Saw this tonight… Absolutely loved it!
You do need to be a fan of the dry Curb/​Seinfeld humor to really get and appreciate the tone and jokes.
So glad we went to see this. I got to see one of the great comics of our time performing live!

A must for any Larry David fan. The show was entertaining from start to finish. We laughed the entire time. Larry’s antics were amusing and the rest of the cast was just as funny. There are some Curb references and even a few Seinfeld references thrown in as well.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy the show from the conversations that I heard when leaving the theater.
My only issue was that Larry is a little hard to hear.

3.5 stars. I love Larry David, as did most of the audience here who were rip-​roaring in laughter at lines that non-​Larry David acolytes would have found only fairly amusing. I enjoyed the play, but honestly, it was just like watching an episode of Senifeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm being performed live, only longer (2 hrs including a 15-​minute intermission) and a little less funny.
I really liked the sets. They were pretty elaborate, similar to what you’d find on a TV set. FYI: Jason Alexander (George Costanza!) will replace Larry David starting June 9^th, so hurry if you want to see Larry!
I paid $ 35 for standing room tickets, which is where you stand for the duration of the show behind a 4-​foot wall in the upper balcony. Not bad at all, actually! If there are empty seats nearby, they might let you sit in one of them after intermission. I waited in line for 1 hour before the box office opened in order to get one of the 12 – 15 coveted standing room tickets. (On previous occasions, showing up at least 1 ½ hours before the box office opened was recommended, but on this particular day, someone actually just sauntered up to the box office minutes after they opened and still got a ticket. Hhmph.)

Curb Your Enthusiasm is brilliant comedy. Fish in the Dark is not. Larry David’s genuis is in playing a misanthrope. There is only one misanthropic moment in this play, and it does work. Go if you want to be underwhelmed. Watching this show is like rooting for a hitter in the bottom of the line-​up on a baseball team. Once in a while he gets a hit, but nof often enough, so you are mostly disappointed. If you have tickets, sell them, go see 50 Shades of Grey, the Musical Parody, laugh yourself silly and spend all of the money you just saved on a terrific meal. Brilliant marketing in having this show run for only 18 weeks. It ensured a sell-​out. With a six-​month run, the reviews would have had this show appropriately limping at the box office.

If you are a Larry David fan (Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm) you will gobble this up. It’s basically a live episode of Curb with Larry playing himself. There are even a couple of Curb references.
The one small caviat is that Larry isn’t a stage actor and is sometimes a bit hard to hear. Although I heard he had the flu the first week of previews which is when I saw this.
