The perfect afterwork spot ! I had a get together with about 20 – 25 people. The manager reserved tables for us right away and was very sweet about giving us the space even tho not everyone was there right away.(Many places won’t even seat you til everyone arrives!) the food, drinks and service was all great ! Even with so many people Thomas was very attentive to us all and really nice. Thanks for the great service and good drinks we had a great time !

Went here for dinner on a day trip to NYC and thought that the food was pretty good. The service could definitely have been better. I don’t know if I would go here again but it was ok and there was no wait at the time when we were there.

A colleague and I decided to meet for breakfast to review business plans. We were seated in a quiet place at a table for two. The table was close to the entryway to the kitchen and waiters were going by to go in and Out. We got our breakfast and proceeded to continue our meeting. One waiter kept on walking by and finally asked my colleague to move his legs without even asking politely. At this point my colleague told him he could be more polite than this and that he didn’t have to move his legs since he is a guest there. The server then told him with a nasty tone that he kicked him and that he was not seating properly. Since when crossing your legs is not appropriate. My colleague asked for a manager. A lady came over and my colleague asked her for the manager. She said she would be right back and came back with a business cards. It was actually her card and she was the manager. My colleague asked for the hotel manager but he was busy. We had to ask for his card. A few wrong things here. A) we are guests and we should be respected as guests B) no apologies from Andras, the waiter. C) we are regular customers at the hotel and the bar. D) our multi billion dollar corporation has a corporate account with this particular hotel. E) bad management: saying sorry doesn’t cut it anymore. We were both insulted and for sure will never go there again.

The employees were the rudest people we have ever experienced. My family and I had 3 rooms as there were 8 people in our party, and stayed 3 nights(4÷14−4÷16) We did not eat in the restaurant but gathered for a drink either before or after our evening. The bartender each night was so unfriendly and rude as well as the waiters. We were made to feel as though we were a bother or an inconvenience. I would not recommend this restaurant/bar to anyone.

Had a great stay. Really enjoyed the food, specifically the breakfast buffet. Just feel that since the price was rather high they should have an omelette station. Was told I could order an omelette from the back but what’s better then having one made right in front of you. In all the places I stay, I truly LOVE when I can witness my food being prepared in plain sight! Here’s hoping they have that next time I visit!

Is this the same restaurant other people have reviewed on here because I barely manage to give this place a one star! I joined a friend for breakfast at Fireside, and we were thoroughly disappointed. I could have had better eggs and coffee from a street vendor… and for a much better price. I have no problem paying for quality, but that is not what Fireside offers. My friend and I both ordered two scrambled eggs with whole wheat toast at a cost of $ 20 each. I wish I had taken a picture, but that is literally what we received: a plate with eggs(no garnish, no salad, no tomatoes, no small potatoes… NOTHING!) and a plate with four slices of toast. Mind you, the first two slices were burned, and to compensate for that the other two were not toasted at all. For this price I expect a little more than just two things, but if we had wanted bacon, ham, an extra egg… we needed to order those as sides, at an additional cost of $ 8 per side. The best tasting thing we had today: the jam… because Fireside did not have to prepare this. The eggs tasted like French toast(I guess everything gets cooked on the same griddle) and tasted horrible even after we added tabasco and ketchup. Even worse, they made my friend sick. Also, if I am paying $ 6 for a coffee, I expect it to be good. I do not expect drip coffee poured from a thermos, which of course tasted like water. The service was slow and inattentive. The restaurant itself looks rundown, with carpets that are old and dirty and a trip hazard to anyone who enters the restaurant. If the hotel is anything like this restaurant, I would never recommend it to anyone I know… not even to my first enemy!

Great service, so attentive! We ordered tapas and there were still left overs :) Good food, tastes good and well cooked but nothing special. Since we ordered tapas, the plates were made small(but good portions) and they were cute.

I came to Fireside for the first time last week for a business lunch. Everything we ordered was tasty: Short Rib tacos, lobster rolls, Sliders, pizza and french fries. They were all good. Pricey but what I expected for the neighborhood. I’m saw the other negative views but my experience was very different. Our waiter was very attentive and two managers came by to ask us how we were doing and liking our food. The ambiance was pleasant and all in all, a very positive experience. We had a dessert sampling which was nice. I would take a client here again.

Nothing special… Joined them for breakfast, VERY expensive and bad service. Had to ask for a coffee and had to wait… Only the fruit was fresh everything else was stale… I would not bother, my breakfast cost $ 40!

Great restaurant located in the Omni hotel. I’ve been there many times for lunch, dinner and breakfast and was always satisfied with tasty meals and friendly waiters. Special mention to the fish tacos and tomato soup, as well as the full breakfast buffet.

Food was good, typical Americana sort. Service was mediocre, can’t understand why it took 30mins wait from when we finished our appetizers and the entrée — perhaps because the the kitchen also serves the Omni hotel(of which it is part of). If you’re after a nice, casual meal, and are not in any particularly rush, then I recommend this place!

Rude, rude, rude! The bartender and bar backs or whom ever they were are all rude. They were speaking in a foreign language for five minutes not 4 feet from me could not acknowledge my guest nor myself then when he finally felt the need to help us he rudely slammed cocktail napkins on the bar and they were wet from his wet hands. I got up and left way too many great places to spend my money or time where I am not wanted!

Great food, awkward service, the portions are large and easy to share. We loved the baked Mac and cheese, the tortilla soup and the Margherita pizza.

The«Mad Men» era of Midtown glamor is long gone. Forget about the three-martini lunch; it’s hard to see where even to get just one in this sea of Just Salads, Prets, and lame gift shops. But this little hotel bar is one place to quickly step off the street and out of the ugly realities of this part of town. I recommend you take a window seat. The room is a few steps below sidewalk level, and the people watching is good. One time, I even saw a celebrity walk by! It was Geraldo Rivera, but still. The place is open, roomy, and bright. On a far wall, a grid of silent flat-screen TVs have news channels playing in case you need to keep up with what’s going on in the world. But if you’re here to get away from what’s going on in the world, they’re unintrusive. The staff gets you what you need and lets you linger. The bar food menu is typical, but the food is nicely presented and the portions are generous. Sometimes you find yourself needing a place like this, and when you do, you won’t be sorry if you go here.

I had the fish tacos here. When did I become such a hipster??? I knew this place was classy for a few reasons 1) the date I met here is classy, 2) the waiter was wearing a tie 3) the sausage on the pizza was called«chorizo»…it’s like«Am I on an epsiode of „Sex and the City“ or what???» They also served a very hip drink called a Blood Orange Margarita. It was delicious but I should have stopped after 7!!! Who knew that oranges even had vascular systems??? ROFLDLSM!!!* Hit me up on AOL Instant Messenger if you want more details. _____________________ *that means«rolling on floor laughing, dressed like Sailor Moon»

fireside noun the area round a fireplace(used especially with reference to a person’s home or family life): he preferred the warmth of his own fireside and the simple pleasures of a good cigar and a glass of brandy :Umm…where’s the cozy fire?: We found this bar while using our handy Unilocal app, and decided to duck in from the frigid temperatures for a snack and a warm up. The drinks were meh, but the macaroni and cheese dish we shared was enjoyable. The large revolving door causes frequent blasts of cold air to float throughout the open space each time someone walks in. The fire will need to come from your imagination.

It’s a shame to be in such a festive holiday mood, yet feel compelled to write such a poor, Grinchy review. But them’s the breaks, so here it is. After a long day of shopping and holiday merriment, my party of three was grateful to find Fireside open and available with no waiting on a Saturday evening. I should have known. At first glance the dining room was BEAUTIFUL, the menu eclectic and delicious, and the service nice enough. Long story-short, the service was bad. Real bad. I asked to «start» with a water, in the hopes that copious amounts of wine would follow. The wine was not meant to be, as the server never returned for a drink order again. He did briefly return for our meal order, but turned on a heel before any further drinks could be suggested. Of course I could have visited the bar or asked the food-runner, but at a wait of nearly an hour and a half for our meals, my mood had decidedly switched from winey, to whiny. The morel of this story is — skip Fireside. If you must, you won’t be disappointed by the food(hence two stars instead of one), but you’ll have better service with the kebab vendor on the corner. Trust me. Happy Holidays!
