Horrible. I went there because blow dry bar was booked and I wanted a blowout for a wedding. The woman(Ola?) was miserable the winter time. She barely washed my hair and I needed a good wash. Everyone knows that a good wash will provide a good blow out. Then she barely brushed my hair. She didn’t put any styling product in it whatsoever even though I asked for full volume. All she did was curl my hair all over with a curling iron. Didn’t even use a round brush to put volume in it. So disappointing. And a waste of money because now all I want to do is go home and just do it myself. I actually wanted to leave because I could see from the beginning that she didn’t care whatsoever and I was just wasting my time. Should have followed my gut instinct. Don’t waste your time and money there, go to a legit place known for their blowouts.

The woman who cut my hair did not know what she was doing. She was probably very agile with a buzz, but I wanted scissors, and that was too much to ask for. She had difficulty handling the hair dryer as well. I am not going to describe what she left on my head. Will never go back there again.

Always satisfied with the service, experience, and end result! Fresh, clean, with a sophisticated and chic French flair. Polite and very professional hairdressers and owner. The best part is, the price is moderate, for great quality! That’s hard to find anywhere these days, especially in midtown!

I first walked in here for a quick blow dry with Yelena — she is good and knows hair as she does good blow outs and is precise. Her cuts are good as well ! However, beware of any color jobs with the others as that is hit or miss and I’ve been disappointed(Yelena does not do highlights). Cut and blow out works at this place. This is a basic salon(that could use new furniture and well, an overall paint job but… They also do not have a lot of styling products — you may want to bring in your own!

I see Yelena here, she is terrific. The shop needs a visit from Tabatha Coffey for a makeover though! You can see cut hairs impacted high around the moldings, the chair bottoms and the cabinet legs. The staff is not very professional and what I see as people leave, I am surprise people come back and wonder why Yelena stays.

yikes. didn’t really go here by choice. I just have an injury and can’t blow dry my hair right now and this is the closest place to work. i have just past shoulders long straight hair and needed a blow out. Danny was super nice, polite and professional, just didn’t like the results. my hair looks exactly the same as when i do it. it doesn’t feel smooth or silky like i want to run my hands through it. The ends just look undone and fly away. Probably an iron would have helped, which i asked for, but then we sort of decided not to use one, plus he had someone lined up right behind me. No-one seemed to be able to lay their hands on any product to smooth it over. $ 37. Last week i had the same procedure at De Lido on 9th avenue, $ 31 and it looked amazing and several friends commented on how my hair looked. ah well. If you’re a guy, or if you’re a woman who’s not fussed about her hair(per the other ratings), then i’m sure this place is fine.

If you do not need anything fancy done, or want a place you want walk into for an immediate appointment that’s not a super-cuts type place. This is it. I love this place because I’m not a big hair person, I usually only get basic trims or touch-ups and I don’t like to schedule appts. I just walk in, say give me who is available, get my cut and blown dry and I’m out the door 45 minutes later. Easy and convenient! I’ve always found the lady who runs the door and all the stylists easy, friendly and accommodating.

As one reviewer mentioned, reviews for a saloon will vary wildly based on who cuts your hair. Michelle(owner/front desk) has always accommodated me and made sure I always get seen at a reasonable time. I’ve been a loyal customer for almost 5 years now and couldnt be happier. I currently use Anna and think she is a magician with the blade and the way it cuts my hair.

I’d think that reviews for salons vary wildly based on who cuts your hair. One stylist might be awesome, and the next, not nearly as much. Thus, this review is for Yona. Yona was my barber for years. He was pretty quick, and always did a good job. I have short hair, so it probably wasn’t the most difficult head to cut, but I often had to wait a few minutes until after my scheduled appointment, because he was finishing somebody else up. This might mean he’s popular, and might mean he’s occasionally slow, but it worked for me.

This«in & out» low cost chop shop has been around for at least a decade — maybe more. I was not a fan but when I first moved to NYC and knew no better, I went here for a cut and single process color. Meh. Not tragic(thankfully) but no way I’d go back. Decent stylists make their bones at places like these and quickly move on. If you happen to find a great one — just follow him/her wherever she goes. They won’t be here long. Plus? You can usually get a walk in appointment and for a simple shampoo & blow out or a trim — no harm, no foul.
