I’ve been to Fika before, but not this location until today. It has the same look and feel as the others. Sleek and modern. I loveeeee the lattes there. They always taste super creamy.

Disappointed at this location! Yes, the place was clean, well lit but i come to Fika for the best Cappuccino in NYC and this location didn’t live up to it. The Barista didn’t make it so well. Tasted bland! The Park Ave South Location was superb! The Barista there puts love and passion in making the best Cappuccino. I love Fika but not at this location. Service was so disappointing!

This café has a very modern and sleek design. It does seem a bit abrupt at first walking in. Everything was crisp and clean. The barista counter was long and white and held one barista. She didn’t seem too pleased to be there even though it was during one of the off peak moments. The pastries were beautifully made and the choices were endless. There were fruit and butter croissants, cookies including chocolate chip and a gingerbread heart! I settled for the gingerbread to get into holiday mode and fell in love. This was my first time trying the coffee here and I decided to try the cold brew. It was pretty smooth no milk or sugar added. I did not taste the bitterness of the coffee like I had in other cafes. I was asked if I planned to stay which I agreed and was given China for my pastry and there I had it a smile as well which redeemed the unwelcoming vibe earlier on. This is a great place to study or even open up a long anticipated novel to read. I do wish to check out the other locations and hope to find a more cozier and warm hearted atmosphere!

Hey,(eller, kanske«Hej!») so I lived in Sweden for a while. I enjoyed the schtick(some Yiddish/Svensk fusion) — especially the Swedish /English phrases painted on the back wall. Selling points are convenience, and the Swedish baked goods … it’s been too long for me to assess«authenticity», but the roll I had was good. A bit pricey. Super busy. Clever variety of seating. Kinda’ messy … but that’s a function of the high volume of people spooling through. Fortunately, I had enough pengar(money) for the dough in my fika(pocket).

Although this coffee spot is close to Bryant Park and Times Square, it’s never extremely crowded from my experiences here. Line is always a short(or almost no) wait and service is friendly. I particularly like how it usually has seating, making it a good spot to go on a coffee date.

Great matcha tea latte served with almond milk. A place to go after my morning yoga class at Equinox Bryant Park. Haven’t tried any food there, but breakfast and lunch items look good.

This place is so clean, bright, and spacious. It feel really comfortable here. There are three small high tables in the front that just jut out from the wall. In the back there are bigger tables and comfy looking couches/booths. Came here for a coffee chat but just grabbed tea because I already had my coffee for the day. They have a good selection for black and green teas. Would come back again to try the coffee.

Loved this little coffee joint we came across. As a young girl I spent a few years in Sweden and Fika in Swedish is actually a verb meaning(having coffee). So when we came across this place we had to go in! We tried the princess cake and chocolate ball which are all authentic Swedish desserts and they both did not disappoint. The coffee was also excellent, which was actually American. The décor was very much Swedish, with a wall paper displaying the streets of Stockholm, which made us become very nostalgic. Anyways, we will most definitely stop by again next time when we are in NYC for a little piece of our childhood.

Came here for a staff meeting a few times, good spot to take clients. Spacious, minimal, decent coffee. –1 star because the service is poor — they’ve gotten my orders wrong multiple times. –1 star because the menu is limited and overpriced for the quality of food. Also wifi makes you log back in about every hour, kind of a pain especially considering it’s public wifi but it does the job.

Great coffee! Great décor! Good wifi… BADATTITUDES! If not for the saltiness I must ensure to take my fika, I’d rate a solid 5 stars. However management please consider a discussion on being pleasant.

The service is amazingly nice. The wifi was down and the payment system could not go through. The lady said don’t worry, take it as a treat. In the end we found cash to pay it back. But it is still incredibly generous and kind. The matcha latte is great. Not too sweet. Not too much calories. exactly what I want.

New favorite soup is potato leek although the potato fennel is amazing too. I also love the meatball sandwich with beets. I wish there was more filling in the sandwich for the price, but this place has more European sized portions rather than American sized portions. LOVE that they use sprouts on the sandwiches — so much better than just plain old lettuce. Chef Edwin Padilla is killing it here!

I had so much expectations for this place since I’m a swede but was a little disapointed. The interior feels swedish but I think you can do even more with it. Maybe have swedish music on? Also the offering of the pastry was not so swedish as I had hoped for. IKEA food shop does this much better.

Wifi not functional at all. «A lot of people may be using it we’ve had a lot of problems.» No one seemed to care even though I bought tea so I could specifically work here – which I told her. She walked away from me and ignored me. Additionally there was«no chef this weekend» so no food available either.

The atmosphere of this place is good, but the coffee and food are sub-par. Had a cold, dry, flavorless chicken sandwich for $ 10 that I suffered thru on my last visit. Fika’s espresso has clearly gone downhill since they started expanding and opening shops all over Manhattan. For a much better midtown espresso fix, head to Kaffe 1668 or Two Beans.

One Monday morning, I was being The World’s Best Daughter, picking up my mother from Grand Central to squire her to Penn Station for a trip down to D.C. She basically bullied me into buying her breakfast… I mean, I willingly wanted to treat my mother to breakfast! I knew we had some time to sit and eat, but not a lot of time by the same measure. I didn’t want to sit down someplace fancy. I didn’t want to drag her into a Starbucks. After a bit of Unilocal-searching, FIKA seemed like a good option. It’s set back just west of Bryant Park, and it was blocked by scaffolding and delivery trucks when we got there; I almost walked right past it! However, once we entered, it was lovely. It’s bright, modern, with some pleasant cool music playing(not too loudly) in the background. While pastries were teasing us from the display case, my mama was looking for a heartier breakfast, while the Pumpkin & Chia Oatmeal is what caught my eye. She ended up getting a nice order of scrambled eggs with spinach, which came with a side salad and toast. I had to laugh: my grandfather, her father, ran a restaurant when she grew up, so she has had her share of scrambled eggs in her life. By the way she ate and praised these eggs, you’d think that these were the best scrambled eggs in the whole entire world!(Well, they very well could have been!) Seriously, an hour later when we got to Penn Station, she was still talking about the eggs. Ha!(Oh. MOMS. Y’all say the cutest things.) As for me, I really enjoyed my oatmeal. It was $ 5 for a bowl, and this was a BOWL. I mean, oats, pumpkin seeds, chia, strawberries, lingonberries, cranberries, you name it. It was basically everything but the kitchen sink. I couldn’t finish it, I ended up so full! I did not eat again until 6 that night, eight hours after eating it, I kid you not. Thank you, FIKA, for one, a great breakfast and two, for making my mama a very happy camper and traveler.

FIKA Bryant Park is the perfect spot in Midtown for breakfast, lunch, coffee and dessert! Pros: * The décor and ambiance is excellent: High ceilings, well-lit, modern and very comfortable furniture. I see a lot of business meetings taking place here because of how nice(but not too fancy) the ambiance here. * Delicious coffee! * Free WiFi Cons: * I thought the Göteborg sandwich(swedish meatballs and red beet salad on fika rye) was OK. The red beet salad complimented with the meatballs well but it would be a superior sandwich if it was hot, not cold. * No coffee club card here, they need to start one! Tips: * You order food at the cashier and they bring it to you. It’s a bit confusing at first because there are no clear signs or directives for first-time customers. You have to tell them clearly where you’re sitting, I did but I guess I wasn’t clear enough so it took a while for them to bring me my sandwich. Looking forward to coming back here for more coffee and lunch breaks. Will be trying their seasonal special platter next time!

I paid $ 10 for a omelette with spinach and ham. It came with a piece of toast and some greens. This is probably 2x what I pay at other places nearby. BUT, it was really, really good. Best believe if I am in the mood for an omelette I will shell out the $ 10 for Fika. The coffee is crap though. What is it with midtown and crappy coffee??? The space is amazing. Tastefully decorated, very bright and cheery. The art work is my favorite. The location couldn’t be better. Right across from Bryant Park and super close to me. It’s great for a casual business breakfast(if there’s such a thing) or a casual breakfast with friends or family. I imagine it to be a zoo from 12 – 2 like any decent place in Times Square. The folks I work with swear by this place and go often. But they can also afford to make it rain at FIKA.

My previous experience with FIKA was a small outpost of the chain further up on the West Side. While that branch is fairly small, this one is nice and big. When you come in the high ceilings and wide open space is a huge contrast to most of the more crowded cafes around Manhattan. The lighting is bright and welcoming. The counter where you order is off to the right and wraps around towards the back. They have a small menu posted right by the cashiers for easy ordering. They also have some of their chocolates and pastries on display in the same area. I ordered a large Americano and was very surprised that I was asked to choose a cup size, one that would concentrate the flavor more(a smaller cup) and one that would dihlute the flavor a bit, but give me more liquid(a larger cup). I appreciated this courtesy(I chose the larger cup). The Americano had a good flavor. It was indeed a bit lighter than I would have expected so I know next time to concentrate the flavor more in a smaller cup. I still enjoyed it though, and I made sure not to add anything to it so I could appreciate its pure flavor. I’ll definitely be back to FIKA, hopefully to try some of their other drinks and food.
