This should not be such a secret. I did an online search for fabric stores during our trip to NYC in March. After reading on a blog about this too-good-to-be-true store inside an office bldg in the garment district, I decided to check it out. Having expectations that if this place was what I hoped, they likely would not allow a non-trade customer to poke around, much less buy anything. Surprise! They were very warm and welcoming. There were two interns(Kate was one) who spent the time to show me around and then to cut my selections. Thank you to the sweet woman who gave me a good price on everything. I cannot wait to come back and see what’s new even since mid-March. Worth the effort and the elevator ride. Surprisingly large space. Specifics: original bolts of Missoni chevron knits(about a dozen different ones), Chanel boucle, Calvin Klein denim and loads of designer stretch knits, gorgeous wools with exquisite hand and drape, boiled wools and designer prints primarily from Italy and France. Also, if you’re lucky they’ll be having a Nanette Lepore sample sale or some other event up on the 17th floor. Worth a look.
