I had really high hopes for East & West, but I realized how misplaced those hopes were once my party and I were seated. While we had reservations for brunch, it took half an hour until someone took our drink order. It then took an extra twenty minutes until we received our first course. I understand that brunch in NYC gets busy and not everything is instantaneous; those were not our expectations by any means. But the restaurant was not that busy. To see several tables served before us(who had been seated after us) seemed like a slap in the face. Many waiters walked by our table and didn’t bother with giving us the time of day. From being seated at 1:45PM and not receiving our first course until almost 3PM is inexcusable. On top of that, every course served to us was cold. One plate came with a short, thick, curly hair on it. No staff member gave us follow up or even tended to us unless prompted. As a working professional who understands the importance of basic customer service, I was appalled and bothered by the lack of decency showed by the staff at East & West. Again, I understand if the restaurant was busy and the staff was doing their best to pick up the slack, but it seemed as though they were avoiding our table like the Black Plague. We were patient and polite throughout the entire meal, but when we asked to speak to the manager about service, no one paid us any mind at all. I was thoroughly disappointed with their service and will not come back nor will I recommend anyone else to this establishment.

The firecracker shrimp is good, and happy hour cocktails can start your evening off cheaply! The staff was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that the place seemed overly friendly amongst themselves. They’d help you in a heartbeat, but seems a little bit strange. They should be all about you, the guest, not about their clicks.

We loved this place. Unfortunately it’s currently closed. FYI. Open Table is accepting reservations for it as well as . We were there on Sun Jan 25 with our brunch reservations for 1pm and doors closed. The one nice hotel employee said it closed on Dec 28. So not sure if permanently closed or temporary remodel. We brought this to the attention of the front desk agent, and she couldn’t be bothered by it. So don’t waste your time.

I stopped by during the World Cup period in July and randomly found their menu interesting. Small but lots of flavor, love their decoration as well. Good place to have a drink and have conversation with friends(not so noisy). By the way, Yotel is super cute hotel! More details please visit:

Ok here are the positives its in a nice hotel… The service is good. The end… The bad: Miso soup and French onion soups extremely salty!!! Appetizer some chicken meatball deep fried into some type of breading which was not even warm when it got to us. Main entrees Shrimp p.o. boy was Lukewarm and can taste under cooked flour in the batter. Steak frites the most expensive dish I asked for medium rare it came cooked as charred or what I know as burnt usually I don’t mind but it left a bad taste of charred barbecue grill that was not cleaned or greased properly with an extreme high heat… There was also some type of soy sauce or hoisin sauce that went with that meat that did not go well with the steak. Note to cook please do not add your own flavor twist until you get the rest of the food perfected first. I was scared to order the dessert because of the food, instead my wife ordered decaf coffee which tasted like a week old bitter coffee. Disgusting all around the pictures on open table with pork belly they don’t have it or they played it off that it was sold out. Save your money and your appetite for something worth it this is definitely not worth it!!!

I’d give 3 or 4 stars for food, service was terrible. I was there years ago for their restaurant FOUR and not East & West. When I stepped out of the elevator, I immediately noticed FOUR was sort of blocked off and sort of not. So I asked the hostess if it was open, and she gestured behind me «over there». Ok I guess, I haven’t been back for some time, they must’ve changed the things around. As soon as I sat down and was handed the menu, I saw it was East & West. I asked the guy if they have the small plates menu. He did a few uh’s and hmm’s and said he’ll get someone. I said ok. and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Finally, my server comes over to take my drink order. I guess the guy didn’t tell anyone my request for the other menu? Or it’s not possible? No idea. I didn’t bother to ask a second time cuz I was starving. Ordered a French onion soup and seared swordfish. The soup was extremely salty. The fish was really good. I would’ve gone back for the fish if it wasn’t for the service. When I got the check and had payment ready. It took forever for the server to pick it up. What’s worse was this guy walking around checking tables clearly saw my check a few times and did nothing. It was so annoying. I don’t think I’ll ever go again especially having to take the train and bus. Too much travel for that kind of service.

.Wow. You’re thinking blah hotel lobby and you’re super surprised. Great fried oysters in a pool of delish spinach. The hake. Bam! The black cod. Bam! And, oy, the cocktails. Who came up with that rosemary Collins. And the smoky pear margarita. Way smoky goodness. Went with GF and she says we gotta go back. Her wish … Great spot to start a Manhattan party night.

Stopped in with a couple of friends for a few drinks before we went out for the night. The restaurant is nice with good lighting and friendly staff. I only took a star away because the elevators are very dark and I was a little scared in them. I mean I understand the Hotel is trying to do some purple theme but please have better lighting in your elevators. The lighting seemed to just be black lights and made me very uncomfortable. Pricing was fair to good. But I have to stress even more that the lighting in the elevator was horrible. If I am to come here again and the lighting has not been made better — I will just turn away and go somewhere else. To me my experience at a venue begins the moment I am near the property; the exterior presentation and my travel within the facility all contributes to my experience.

Try the lamb meatballs, the kalbi chicken were too salty, tuna burger was pretty good. «296 Mehedi» was our server Service is pretty slow. At least 45 mins after we ordered before the food arrived. 5 card maximum, we had a party of 10 and most of us expected to pay in card, they didn’t like that we gave them 8 cards.

NEWYORKCITY: This is a tasty little restaurant that has some innovative dishes. We had a couple of menu items and they were good. The service was nice and the modern décor was clean and attractive. Deviled Eggs(4 stars): Tasty, flavorful, with a robust deviled egg taste. They were a little light on crab flavor, but otherwise very good. Burger(3 stars): This burger was good, as were the fries that came with them, but not super memorable. Just a well prepared burger.

I had dinner here last night and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, they have lots of little plates and some bigger more entrée sized dishes, so it’s great for sharing. We had the deviled egg with crab meat, the New Orleans style shrimp, the beet and burrata salad, the fried oysters, the tempura maitaki mushrooms, and the teriyaki salmon. It was all really great. They have nice cocktails, the bartender, Steve, made a nice one for me, the White Swan, and a great selection of wine, many of which are available in half bottles, which I really like. They have great little desserts too, the perfect size for when you want a little something sweet but are already kind of full from dinner. The service was good, our server Camilo was great, and the décor is nice and simple and clean. It’s great to know that there is a restaurant near Times Square where you can get a nice meal, instead of suffering through one of the awful chain restaurants that are all over that area.
