Hard to believe this store is in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in new york. From the looks of it, you’d think this store was in a war torn 3rd world nation. What a fuckin dump. There’s just no excuse as to the condition of this store.

The most ghetto Duane Reade I have ever seen. The floor is ugly. There seems to be some unsavory people hanging around this store/area too.

Tiny store, with an even smaller selection. I went in for allergy pills and there was only their way overpriced brand. I asked if they had an over the counter allergy nasal spray and rudely both employees said what?! No! As if I was asking for something illegal. I then had to wait in line 10 minutes… Not because there was a lot of people, because the cashier took FOREVER to check out an older woman with 5 objects. If you’re looking for a decent drug store, try cvs or rite aid

Ew! This Duane Reade skews on the nasty side! It’s dirty and disorganized and the workers are unfriendly. When I made my purchase, there were no words spoken, just a couple of grunts. Plus, the way the registers are set up, it’s hard to know if a line is forming down one of the aisles or if it’s going parallel to the registers, which leads to people lining up in two places. Why can’t they just put some ropes up? This goes on the bottom of my Duane Reade list. Yuck.

It’s grimy and the staff is relatively apathetic. It’s usually relatively well-stocked, though — so it gets the job done. Just too bad it can’t kick things up a notch given its prime location at the hub of West 4th Street. Never actually used them for their pharmacy component, so can’t speak to their strengths(or potential lack thereof) on that front.

If you absolutely need something for the apartment and it’s an emergency than yeah go here. It doesn’t matter what time of day you walk into this place, the staff is careless. They just seem to be working like they are doing the place a favor. Anyway, it’s over priced across the board regardless of what category you’re shopping in. Why the The extra star? They have these sales on Evian/Fiji sporadically that are great and there is a functioning chase ATM inside.

How and why is this location in business? Apparently«corporate» doesn’t read reviews. The lines are obscenely long and their regular prices are too high. After waiting an inordinate amount of time to check out, I had to run my card 3 times due to some glitch, thus holding up those behind me even more.

We came in here after walking around NYC in the midst of a heat wave, looking for a nice cold drink. We walk to the back of the dimly lit store and open the drinks fridge. Shockingly, upon touching the drinks, they are clearly slightly cooler than room temperature. This is not cool! Management, you shouldn’t cheapen out on your electricity bill in the name of barely cool drinks. We turned around and just walked out. We took our business next door, where we bought 2 freshly cold bottle drinks. Stay away from this foul establishment. Shut it dooown!

Pros: Some good deals here($ 2 anti-perspirant!) and there was a pretty short line so you can scan your rewards card and be on your way seconds later. The girl at the register was pretty friendly and efficient. Cons: Disorganized and messy(when I was here, a dude was doing stock, taking up an entire aisle with stuff all over the floor. Downstairs, the pharmacy was closed early Saturday evening(not sure what the hours are), and appeared to be in general disarray. Also, the West 4th/West 8th bums go in and out, and greet you at the door with their palms out.

It smells so bad when you walk in this Duane Reade! It smells like a rotten diaper. I hold my breath every time I go in this place. If you every find me passed out in there it not because of too much booze!!!

I came in here last month to buy shampoo. It took me a while to find the shampoo section. I got the brand and type of shampoo I needed. The line was a bit long which was a bit odd because it was a little before 11 A.M.

One of the worst Duane Reade locations in the city. The employees can’t be bothered to help you, and the line is always really long despite the store not being busy, because they only ever have 1 register open with 2 or 3 employees standing around. Go to the CVS on University or C.O. Bigelow a block away if you can– the prices are surprisingly lower there and the management is a little better.

I stopped by this Duane Reade location in the morning to pick up a 12oz bottle of Tropicana orange juice for my train ride to work. Halfway through the bottle, I noticed the«best if use by» date, which was April 24, 12. Considering today is September 4, 12, I am not pleased.
