We were stuck at a conference in the city(in god forsaken tourist central times square) during a blizzard with nowhere to go eat(our hotel restaurant was packed house) — to the rescue came Dos Caminos! They stayed open here and weathered the stormageddon 2016 The menu was a bit scaled back from other locations I’ve been to in NYC, but that didn’t matter… The bartender was awesome and kept the drinks flowing. Service was pretty quick for being as busy and understaffed as they were. Food is always great here and always something for everyone. Thanks for giving us a great food option in the city DID sleep on this particular night.

This was my second or third time at Dos Caminos and it never disappoints! Some of the best margaritas I have ever had, great guac, pork carnitas were tasty too! We only had an hour to eat and drink before our show the bartenders/servers were very accommodating to our schedule and made sure we had a great food and drinks in a knick of time. The only«complaint» I have is that they close too early…

The people were very friendly and it was a very nice restaurant with a nice view of Times Square. The guacamole was delicious and if I were to go back, I’d eat it as my meal! I had the chicken tacos and they were very very spicy. I love spicy foods but they didn’t warn me that it was and I proceeded to put additional hot sauce on it and wow did it burn! Other than the heat, the tacos were very delicious. The chicken quesadilla on the other hand, was horrible. It had no flavour, it was literally just cheese and flavourless chicken, something I could make better at home, and I’ve never made them before. They were not worth the price at all. Overall it was a okay, not the best but for its location and price range it was ok.

I have been now to probably all of the Dos Caminos restaurant locations. Each has its own amazing feeling and while the food is the same the ambiance is definitely one thing that is not. for this location, I find that while not the most impressive, I think it has the best view of all of their restaurants. Who does not like to enjoy their prickly pear margarita while people watching at Time’s Square, but just I case you don’t they have a downstairs bar and seating area as well, get away from the city! My personal favorite drink at Dos is a basic frozen margarita with a shot of sangria. Now, some of the other restaurants have the perfect ratio and this Dos Caminos is still starting their ways. when I asked for it, the bartender had no idea they even served that at their restaurants, he still obliged with a smile and commented on how it just makes sense as a drink. I happen to fully agree with him! It took several tries, then again. I also had several of these. Therefor, it is important to not just enjoy your margaritas with some water and be responsible, but also some food. And I can’t think of a better thing to munch on then their pastelitos of sweet banana filled with black beans and grated cheese on top served over a spicy sauce. These 4 succulent little bitters are a perfect way to tidy up a chill moment at Dos Caminos! I also had a grapefruit margarita, which I definitely did not enjoy and did not have to pay for. I love tequila, I love grapefruit, but I wish the description had said it would basically taste like tootsie rolls. Yes, that is what this Margarita tasted like and no, I was not prepared, hahah! I do appreciate the bartender trying to get me to try something different and after he saw my immediate reaction, he understood it was not something I would ever order again. Still, presentation was great, so I took a picture and Unilocaled that! I have not bought anything else at this location, but their menu at their other locations is basically the same and I have enjoyed my meals there. The only thing I really feel like I have not enjoyed is the small amount of salsas that come with the chips and salsa. That said, they are still pretty tasty. Dos Caminos is a staple Mexican restaurant that is enjoyable and usually pretty interesting to be at(décor wise). This is a great second or third date location to enjoy the food, drinks, but if bored of the date, then to people watch!

I had the chicken tacos. They were small but very filling. What I wasn’t expecting was the fact that they were extremely spicy(didn’t mention that on the menu). The service was good but not amazing. The décor is nice as well.

1st time visiting NYC& this was the only restaurant we could find open during a historical blizzard! We had a 45 min wait but they texted us when our table was ready. We had an enormous bowl of the most delicious guacamole. The dos enchiladas was incredible! It was a delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors. Service was great. We would definitely go back!

Such a fun place and so much larger than it looks. We walked in with no reservation on Thursday, January 14, 2016. They took us downstairs to the main dining room and it was wonderfully decorated. Our waiter was great an explained the food to us and he recommended some of his favorites. We started with the guacamole and chips. This was creamy and the chips were warm and fresh — the accompanying sauces were a great addition. I had the steak and shrimp tacos which were so tasty– I only wish there was some lettuce and tomato on them. My friend got an open quesadilla with shrimp and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted! Just spicy enough with a crisp crust — I highly recommend it. They put rice and beans on the table to share family style. Of course we had great margaritas– mine was traditional on the rocks and hers was frozen with strawberries(I think). Definitely stop in if you are In Times Square.

Excellent! Excellent! Had the naked steak! Cooked to perfection Medium Rare, quinoa and salad absolutely yummy!!! Margaritas were a tad disappointing… Service was ok… I was surprised they don’t have margarita glasses! And they didn’t have a «Try this Naked» t shirt that or the hostess didn’t want to ask the manager I’m not sure…

This place isn’t where I would go to dine. I’m a sucker for Mexican food but I find the menu lacking some simple staples and essentials. I stay at the W Times Square often but find this place a bit overrated. I’ll stick to the drinks. Great for groups or informal gatherings, not for dates or romance(unless drinks only)

I’m a big fan of Dos Caminos. The food and drinks are suited perfectly for me. The tequila is vast and being a tequila drinker, this place is paradise for me. The bar menu was right up my alley and paired well with the Mexican dishes. The bocaditos at the bar with my line of tequila tastings were amazing. The bartender was very helpful with explaining how tequila pairs and tastes with the variations of blancos, reposados and añejos. We came here just before watching a Broadway show and if you’re looking for a light menu with great ambience and great drinks, this is the place. Conveniently located in the theatre district which is an easy walk away to any place in the Times Square area.

I’ve been looking for an amazing Mexican place like this and I’m so glad I found it! The food is unique and delicious! The open faced shrimp quesadilla is amazing, drinks are super strong, and the sides of corn and rice and beans are great! Order less than you normally would because the portions are huge.

My friend and I were in the city to study and popped by this place for lunch. We had lunch and drinks. VERYPRICEY and we left a little less hungry(but still hungry). Tried their tacos and was pleased but I knew it wasn’t authentic(especially with that price). Drinks were good and were probably more worth it than the tacos. Sad that they charge you for chips and salsa because we would’ve loved to have something to eat while waiting for our food.

Came to grab dinner and celebrate my friend’s birthday after seeing Gloria Estefan’s Get on Your Feet Broadway Show – and next time, I’ll stick with drinks. We ordered dinner and almost everything except the guacamole was bad. In fact, avoid the ceviche trio at any cost. To be fair, of five members of my party, one person did enjoy the mole short ribs which I found ok. I do like this place for cocktails and the guacamole, but next time, I’ll eat dinner elsewhere.

Dos enchiladas were good, if not a bit too small. Service was attentive, but expect it to be loud. Entrees take about 25 minutes to come out so an appetizer may be good. My favorite part was that they serve the Death Becomes You amber ale. My favorite beer. Most entrees are around $ 20 – 25 and beers are $ 7⁄8

Came here for some drinks and a light meal after a show with my fiancé. Very cool atmosphere. Our server Andrew was one of the best I’ve ever had. We told him we were new to tequila(besides disgusting shots of Cuervo and subsequent hangover) and wanted to know what he recommended. He told us about the staff favorites flight of tequila, which had one blanco, one reposado, and one anejo. Went into much detail of the flavors associated with each and sold us on it. We were not disappointed! Totally changed our view of tequila. So much flavor without lingering in your mouth for too long. We then each got a margarita with the blanco tequila from the flight, by far the best I have ever had. Incredible! Thanks Andrew for showing us there is more to tequila than getting blacked out on shots of disgusting shots. Also, the food was excellent. Started with guacamole which was super fresh and the perfect ratio of ingredients. Also their trio of handmade salsas were all delicious. I had the 18 ingredient mole short ribs. This is my favorite mexican dish I have ever had. The meat is so tender it just melts right in your mouth, mole sauce is a perfect combination of spices, and it is on a bed of cheesy risotto which all together made a truly amazing dish. My fiancé got the asada tacos, which she loved. I had a piece of the steak and it was seasoned very well and was very tender and juicy. All around a fantastic experience. We will definitely be coming here every time we are in the city!

Walking around in the area tonight a friend and I couldn’t decide where to eat. We were looking on Unilocal for somewhere to go and realized that Dos Caminos had a location in times square! I was a little bit surprised by the location, but we were happy we found something we both like and frequent other locations. When we first walked in the hostess let us know there wasn’t any tables available, but downstairs at the bar there was lounge seating with the full menu so we decided to go down. There was a couch seating area available so we sat down and were greeted by someone who looked like he was a manager. He took our drink and food order. I always order the prickly pear margarita at any location. It wasn’t that it was bad, but it came half melted and it’s supposed to be a frozen margarita. I do have to say, we both ordered naked tacos and they were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and just how I had asked for it. We decided not to order another drink, but once our plates and drinks were cleared we sat at our couch unattended for about 30 minutes. I could tell that the man helping us was a manager because he was running around making sure everything was running smoothly across the downstairs level. Also, there was a fashion week event going on in the restaurant while we were there. They could’ve been understaffed given that they’re a newer location and the event was being held, but it got to the point that I had to get up and ask the bartender for water and our check. It seems that other Unilocalers had similar experiences when it came to the service at this location, but once the location has settled in a little while. I’ll make sure to revisit again.

I shouldn’t have expected great food or service from a Times Square restaurant but thought Dos Carminos might defy the stereotype. I was wrong. The good — location: attached to and therefore convenient if you are staying at the W Hotel(which I was), grilled grapefruit margarita, the black beans served with the tacos The bad — service was inattentive and extremely disorganized: one server brought menus and brought me water, another one took my drink order and a third server took my dinner order; the woman next to me was seated after me but the server took her order first and got her food before me, food was ok: got the grilled mahi mahi tacos which came out cold and the ‘hand made tortillas’ were dry and definitely not fresh The ugly — extremely loud with bad club music blaring I would return only for drinks and definitely not for dinner.
