Ugh — fine — I’m updating to 5 stars because it’s just soooooooooooooo delicious and it’s midtown and you can’t find good food around here. I’ll pay the extra few bucks.

Mexico Boulevard parks right near where I work on Tuesdays, and it is practically a legend at my company. There are almost invariably hefty contingents buying tortas and tacos every Tuesday at lunch, and now, having tried out several tortas, I can safely say I see why. The tortas(I’ve tried three, including the Tinga, the Adobo, and one other I can’t remember the name of) are enormous bundles of messy delicious Mexican food, and I’ve been entirely happy with everything I’ve ordered there. I hear good things about their chips and guacamole as well. See you there next Tuesday!

Apparently, I’m going through a severe Mexican phase because all I want are tacos these days. While talking to my co-workers about how I was craving tacos(at 10:30am), one suggested that I hit this place up since it is a Tuesday and their truck is in Midtown. I dashed over as soon as it opened at 11:30(I need therapy), to order a pork, chicken, and veggie taco. I gleefully only walked a half block to my cubicle and chowed down. Holy hell, there is spice. SPICE, I tell ya! An hour later I can still taste the delicious burn on my lips. While I loved all three, I was pleasantly surprised by the veggie tacos. Usually, veggie tacos are the ugly sister of the Mexican restaurant world. You need to include them, but are often neglected. Mexico Blvd does a nice job with the veggie tacos; crispy cheese, jalapenos, avocados, lettuce, and sour cream. I liked them so much that I will definitely include them in every order. For 11 bucks I got three tacos(a little pricey if you ask me), the convenience factor and the quick turn around makes this food truck a solid stand-by when I’m dreaming of tacos at my cubicle. Plus! They accept credit cards for the freaks like me who never carry cash! FYI. This place gets busy fast. I was the second person served for the day, but by the time I left the truck at 11:40 there was a line of six people behind me.

Amazing, authentic, Mexican food! You will not be disappointed. I am a vegetarian and had many options — tons of veggie specials when I tried the truck. I had the flautas, some with beans, some with fried potatoes. I hate guacamole, and it was on these amazing creations. To me, a sour cream lover, it overshadows my number one and has a strange texture. I had one bite, I then loved guacamole. Will be back — many times!

You know a food truck is that good when you frequent it so much the staff knows your name and order by heart. That’s my relationship with Mexico Blvd. I work right by Rockefeller Center and heard about the food truck from some co-workers. As a Mexican food fanatic, I decided to check it out for myself. A year later, and I have yet to be disappointed. Don’t be discouraged by the line, it always moves quickly and the food is worth it. For $ 10, I get a bottle of water, one taco and two quesadillas(please keep in mind that each taco and quesadilla are about the size of your palm). Mexico Blvd perfectly teeters on the line between«grungy, authentic Mexican» and gourmet. Loaded with gluten-free and vegetarian options, there’s sincerely no excuse not to check out Mexico Blvd. My favorites are the pastor taco(topped with a slice of pineapple) and the cheese quesadilla. As this is a food truck, I would recommend following Mexico Blvd on Twitter and Facebook since they sometimes change their location last minute. Luckily, the truck visits Dumbo(Brooklyn), Midtown West(Manhattan) and Midtown East(Manhattan) each week. Not close to any of those locations? Hike up to Astoria(Queens) for Chela & Garnacha, Mexico Blvd’s sister restaurant. I have yet to go(so review on that is pending), but I’m sure it is amazing.

The tacos are pretty good if you add the cheese and guacamole, but that jacks up the price by $ 1 per taco(each topping is a $ 0.50 add-on charge per taco). At the«base price» of $ 3 per taco, I could convince myself that it was ok to «treat» myself once in a while to a $ 4 taco, but now that they pumped up the price to $ 3.75 per taco, I can’t live with the thought of paying $ 4.75 for a taco. It’s over for me and Mexico Blvd… it’s just too expensive for this guy.

After spending what seemed like an eternity waiting in line and staring at the(seemingly delicious) menu — I was let down by the sizes of the tacos! For about ~$ 8 you would atleast expect your meal to be reasonably filling(at a food cart), but I was hungry again within hardly 2 hours. The taste was reasonably good(I had the chicken and pork extra spicy) — but unless you are not really hungry + really want a taco, its not worth the hassle imo.

It was a normal day at the office. What wasn’t normal was the hunger that had come over me. There was an obstacle however. It was a stormy day and I couldn’t fathom getting wet. I was wearing these new Jordans and a grey polo shirt. You know how grey clothing gets when it meets the warm bitter rain; you begin to appear as if your sweating. Anyway, I gather up some of my favorite coworkers and we stand in front of our office’s skylight with umbrellas in hand. We appeared like soldiers, waiting for the clouds to fog up the battlefield, giving us an advantage over the enemies. As the thumping sounds of the drizzles reach a slow pace, we head for a sunnier place. A land of opportunity and promise. We head to México Blvd. The soles of our eager feet hit the pavement, creating a wave of hunger which ripples up into our bodies. As we inch closer and closer to the food, the rain begins to mimic the cries of our ancestors during their most famished voyages. We look up into the sky and the greyest cloud begins to transform right before us. It morphs into an aztec warrior. The warrior points his war staff to the north, guiding us to 46th street. A single ray of light beams through the sky, drying a clear path for us straight to México Blvd. Our first impression of México Blvd is simple — It’s perfect. The man who takes our order has glowing green eyes and his voice is that of The Allstate guy. I begin to speak but he places his hand over my eyes. He scans my memory and takes my order. I offer to pay and he rejects my money, stating that my earlier encounter with the Aztec god was significant enough to get me a free meal. I smile. My smile remains stuck on my face during the walk back to the office and my coworkers are in a similar state. When I get back to my desk, my swivel chair seems more like the drivers seat of a Ferrari 599 Pininfarina. There is a road ahead of me that I must conquer. As I open the box, every head in the office slowly turns. I open wide for my first bite and in my peripherals I see my dearest coworker(Todd) crying. Not only will I be returning to México Blvd, I plan on starting a Kickstarter to pave the Boulevard in supple grass and flowers. I didn’t only find a North American treasure, I found a global one. Thanks México Blvd.

By far the best tacos in NYC. I eat there twice a week when the truck is in Dumbo. I get 3 tacos always EXTRA spicy. The tinga and adobo are the best!!!

T A C O B O Y S Back with another Taco review, this truck was next to Big D’s which I frequently have lunch at so i decided to give it a try. I believe these guys are here on Tuesday and theyre cool people. I peeped the Unilocal reviews before I got on the line and everyone was raving about the Adobo Tacos so I rode the wave. Ok the line was pretty long but the smell coming from that truck was YOULL! I had to have it after catchin a whiff. I got 2 Adobo tacos and 1 Bistec. They had a special 3 Tacos for $ 8 + Chips&Guac for 3 bucks. So had a meal that would be probably $ 14 at Chipotle. Ah! The Adobo tacos were great. Slow roasted pork adobo that just melts in your mouth. The steak was also great. If you get chips and guac you can just add the guac from the chips cause they give a very generous amount. The guac was awesome. It was light and was good on everything. Mexico Blvd might just be the Mexican spot for lunch midtown needed. I’ll be back to try the other things!

cant beat 8 $ for 3 delicious tacos, i was full for a good 4 hours after eating. I had 2 adobos and 1 bifteca all extra spicy, and they were both delicious, but the adobo is my favorite. The spicyness was good, a nice kick of habanero but not overwhelming. The food comes out quick(within 2 minutes) so you’re never waiting for long. I’ll definitely come back to try more.

Easily some of the best tacos I’ve had in Manhattan… granted, that’s a fairly low bar to surpass, given Manhattan’s notoriety for subpar Mexican food. With that said, if you can’t /won’t go to Queens or Jersey for good Mexican food, this little taco truck will be the next best option. It travels around the city /Brooklyn, so be sure to check their website or Twitter page for that week’s schedule. My favorite item is unsurprisingly the taco. Adobo and Bistec are my 2 favorite. Pastor is good too as it has a sweet kick to it. Definitely ask for the cheese on them, and ask for extra spicy if you can tolerate it. I’ve also tried the flautas there and wasn’t too impressed — kind of a weird texture to them, definitely not as good as the tacos. 3 tacos with cheese for $ 9.50…not a bad deal for lunch in NYC.

Highly recommend getting the Torta for $ 8. I cant see the 3 tacos having nearly as much meat as one torta does — they are huge. Only downside is that its a very tall sandwich so its hard to eat, and the toppings easily slide out. The hot sauce is really good too, recommend getting that on everything.

These tacos were insanely disappointing. Very bland, very dry, very tiny. Three tacos for $ 8 is nice, but I’d rather pay the full $ 9 or even $ 10 elsewhere for three decent tasting tacos. I agreed to add the crispy cheese to one of the tacos for an extra $ 0.50, which only added to the disappointment. Sure, I could taste some cheesy flavor, but it was anything but crispy. Didn’t add any texture to the taco whatsoever. I wouldn’t come back, considering the multitude of other taco trucks that park around Midtown East.

Very tasty tacos! Not the best tacos ever but definitely helped me survived my afternoon at work. Their flautas with grilled cheese were very good too. Three tacos for $ 8 is a great deal, and even better, they accept credit cards. I’m glad that I finally found my spot for Mexican lunch~ I hope to see more options for tacos in the future, maybe they’ll consider chorizo con huevo, chilaquiles and machacado tacos, that would be even better :)

The torta sandwiches are huge. Plenty of food for multiple meals. The pastor pork with the pineapple has a nice sweet bite and is packed full of lettuce, tomatoes and jalapeños. The avocado spread just adds a creamy texture that makes this sandwich even more delicious. One of my favorite food trucks — the ability to make things extra spicy helps.

Had the black bean vegetarian flautas and they were amazing! Crisp outside with a good tasty bean filling. A little drizzle of sour cream and salsa on the too. Also tried the pork pastor sandwich which was good! Very filling and fresh tasting! They are on 51st and park on Wednesdays. Be warned that if you stop by at noon there is always a line!

Came here to try the tacos as someone highly raved to me as the«best taco everrr.» Lines are ridiculously long during lunch time, but people are still willing to wait. The staff are so friendly and don’t seem frantic with such a huge crowd. Tacos are kind of tiny for $ 3, but they are so flavorful. Every bite packs a punch. If you get any taco, I would spent the extra $ to get the guac addition; makes it so so much better. I tried the Tinga and the Adobo, and I have to say the Adobo was the clear winner. Meat was so juicy and tender(although super spicy). My mouth is watering just thinking about that meat.

Fairly standard food truck. Prices are not too bad, although I always try to pay no more than $ 2 per taco. Probably foolish of me to think you can regularly get that type of deal in the city, but as my Mexican roommate says, Mexican food should NOT be expensive. Also, maybe it’s just the cheapskate in me. Nevertheless, I will say the tacos are delicious. Got the torta al pastor last time I went to the trucks, which was very good. Bread had a pretty good chew to it and the meat was juicy, a good ratio of pineapple and not too salty. We also got an order of the chips and guacamole. While the portion of guacamole was very generous, we definitely did not get enough chips. Isn’t that supposed to be the cheap part of chips and guac? C’mon son. Regardless, while the food is not terribly special, the quality of the food at Mexico Blvd is very consistent and definitely worth a try. The torta is definitely worth it, but maybe make sure that there are enough chips in your bag if you order the chips and guac. Or just, eat tons of guac on each chip. Anyways, also make sure to check the specials they have on the small chalkboard, so you can get a good deal on some different combinations of the items they have.
