Really good Mexican cuisine. We ordered the taco sampler and they did not disappoint. The service was a bit slow, but we did go In the middle of lunch rush hour. The drinks were pretty strong. Good selection.

Came here for a work lunch and while the food was delicious, service was a little iffy. It seemed to take forever for our waters filled(she ran out of water at one point and left the table with half-full glasses) and then when we ran out of chips, they seemed to take awhile to refill that too. The guacamole was delicious(and this is coming from someone from Arizona!) and perfectly lime-infused. Also, as an Arizonan, $ 26 for a «large» portion, which wasn’t that large IMO, seemed a little pricey. I had the Dos Enchiladas, which came with two sauces that were both delicious but I preferred the tart, zesty one to the mole. Not the biggest serving and at $ 21, also a little pricey. Still good though. All in all, pretty delicious and worth it with a little patience.

Went here with a party of 5, and had to wait almost half an hour even though we had made reservations! The restaurant was nice enough to bring us all prickly pear margaritas which was delicious! We got chips which were nice and warm, though the guacamole was pretty plain. The pork carnitas were good, nothing special. The goat main entrée was my favorite, with just the right amount of flavor and searing. All in all, enjoyable atmosphere for a group but food is pretty average.

Dined here with my friend on 2÷20÷16 we sat in the front area around 7:00. First off the server got our food order wrong, secondly he took our food order and then never returned to our table to see if we were doing fine or if we needed anything else. Whenever we needed service we had to seek help through another employee. We saw our waiter one time the whole night, we had to get our check through a food runner. To top it off not only was his service on the poor end, so was his attitude towards us. The hostess with her hair in a bun with a pink scarf clearly saw me calling her over and just stared at us and paid no mind to us calling her over. Overall horrible experience. Would’ve been 1 star, but the runner and busboys were very kind to us.

This is the worst Mexican restaurant experience that I have EVER had. My boyfriend and I tried the one in Soho two years ago, had a bad experience(namely nearly raw salmon), but for whatever reason we had the misfortune of coming here. We waited twenty minutes only to be excommunicated into a large empty room on the side of the restaurant, which was freezing– not much of a relief from the 28 degree weather outside. The food was awful. My boyfriend ordered the chicken tacos which came cold and I ordered the vegetable tacos«naked version» which were literally inedible. I am not a picky eater whatsoever and am usually content with what I order at 99% of the restaurants that I go to, but dos caminos has the ability to be in the 1% of restaurants where I can hardly muster the strength to eat a bite. Way overpriced for the quality and experience. Save yourself the money and time and go to Chipotle.

Dos Caminos was delicious. Went there for brunch and right off, they lose a star by not informing me of the free drink that comes with my entrée. I fault the waitress for that one and I feel gipped. If a salad comes with your meal or a soup the server always tells you; so why wasn’t I informed? People miss, all the time what comes with their meal and they are usually told this by the server. I guess you can tell I’m really irritated by this especially because in real life we all know that an order of pancakes should not cost $ 15. I would have justified it, in my head a little more if I knew a free beverage(alcohol or no alcohol) was an option. Ok so now the good stuff. Everything was amazing. The chips for the table were warm and had the right crispiness and salt. I was so excited about that because most of the time at places they have no flavor or taste stale. My entrée the $ 15 lemon-blueberry flapjacks outstanding!!! Now the icing of it all. How in the world can their turkey bacon be so freakin’ crispy and the pieces so big? Turkey bacon is usually kind of chewy, and I eat it, but Dos Caminos way of cooking it was spot on. I’m really torn about going here again because I’m so bitter about my missed alcoholic beverage, but the food just might get me back. I might have to ban the place for a while though! UGH!!! I do have to say my waitress was nice and very attentive; just that one thing,(which I found out over a week later) rubs me the wrong way. Dos Caminos brunch was so good and the best brunch I’ve ever had in my life. I had an amazing time because of the food, ambiance, service and company. My friends even went again the following week and want to go again this weekend. Should I or shouldn’t I??? Decisions, decisions…

Love love love this place!!! Yesterday was my second time here. I was seated right away. The hostess is always so gracious and sweet, unusual for an NYC busy happening place. She seated us within a few minutes. Our server, Vanessa, was adorable. It was a busy Saturday night, and still took the time check in several times, always with a cheerful smile and happy disposition. The food was excellent! We had Mango margaritas(so good).one of my go to places. Two thumbs up :)

Visited this location for a department holiday dinner. The service was great for a party of 10. I had the naked Pescado taco with the sauce on the side. The Mahi Mahi was flavorful and fresh, I loved it. The grapefruit margarita might be my new favorite. It is light with the right amount of kick to it. I visited this location last night and I wasn’t too excited about the service for a table of 4. The food was ok, we had to send back a cold dish and my Mahi Mahi wasn’t as amazing as I had experienced it previously. Maybe it was an off night. I’d still return to try other items on the menu and to get my grilled grapefruit margarita.

Awesome place with a great atmosphere! My friend and I stopped by for happy hour after work and we sat at the bar. If you check in on Unilocal, you receive a free Prickly Pear margarita shot which was quite refreshing. They have great happy hour bar snack specials — we got two tacos for $ 6 and they were both delicious with nice, spicy flavors. We also added the plantain empanada which was something I’ve never had before but it was great; the sauce on top tied the whole thing together nicely. Would definitely recommend if in the area!

Good happy hour deals! Two tacos for 6 $ they both had good spicy flavor. The plantain empanada was also delicious. We checked in to get the free prickly pear shot!(It’s basically a tasting of a margarita) but it was good! Sweet and fruity.

Where to begin? Service was good. Guac was decent. Tacos on the other hand? Very Americanized, over-priced and not at all satisfying. The tortillas were rubbery. Save yourself the time and money and head over to Rosa Mexicano.

Unilocalers: if you show your server that you checked in(and are over 21), you get a free shot of the prickly pear frozen margarita! The place has such a fun atmosphere. At night, the DJ was playing fun jams like Hit in Here and B*tch better have my money remixes. It was cool because he looked like an average middle aged dude in a polo, but he got the whole restaurant bumpin. Even the servers danced. The guacamole was great and I appreciated the bottomless chips because I was hungry. Go for the tacos naked for sure. Comes with beans, avocado, quinoa, and pickled veggies. Way better than a tortilla. The pollo taco was definitely spicy tough, so just be aware :)

Went here as a birthday dinner with my family. I have been to other locations before so I knew what to expect. I had the fish tacos and we received rice and beans for the table. The guacamole is A+. Margaritas a on the sweet side but they get the job done. Our server did a wonderful job and always made sure we had what we needed. Good place to go if your looking for a trendier Mexican experience.

Dos Caminos is always a good option — I know it’s an easy spot to go to and I know I’ll enjoy my food every time. The ambiance is really nice — you can go for a quick, casual dinner or make it a fancy night out. The sangria is delicious but I think it’s a little ridiculous that their happy hour ends at 6. The guac is delicious so you have to get it. A small is enough to feed around 2 – 4 people. The tuna ceviches were delicious. The flavor combo is really interesting but it’s spicy so if you don’t like spice I wouldn’t get it. I’m also not a fan of the prices. I think everything is way overpriced — that’s what keeps me from going more often. However, the waiter was extremely nice and gave me and my friend dessert on the house! He gave us two churro ice cream sandwiches that were to DIE for. You must order it!

Okay, so I was really in between 2 and 3 stars for this Dos Caminos location… I’m erring on 2 because it stands for, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» and I indeed have… both from a street cart, taco truck and from other Dos Caminos locations. Aaaaaaand yep, you also guessed it — this is my least favorite location — right by my office too. Joy. Last time I came here was for my friend’s boyfriend’s birthday dinner. They both apparently really love the food here. I could care less for crappy, wannabe-trendy Mexican food, but my fiancé and I wouldn’t miss his birthday for the world. I reminded our table that there was a Unilocal Check-in special consisting of frozen Prickly Pear treats and our waiter gave our table a round of em’. These things are DELISH! The overall décor and ambience here is okay — not as nice as the ambience at their midtown, Soho or Meatpacking locations though. The food across all Dos Caminos’ locations always remains consistent… consistently disappointing that is. Then again, no one likes the food here if they’re actually looking for authentic Mexican food(or has good taste in food… yeah, I said it). Dos Caminos’ cuisine is more like a fusion of slightly Latin things with anything else they can fuse it with. Dos Caminos also makes the WORST mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It’s what I ordered last time I had dinner here too. It’s seriously SO underwhelming and bad in all ways. The one food item that I WILL rave about here is their Queso Fundido Chorizo dip. Then again, how do you mess up anything with melted cheese, seasonings and chorizo?(Well…throw in wheel-shaped pasta and they manage to destroy chorizo mac n’ cheese, but yeaaahhhh…). I couldn’t eat it all so I packed some up to go hoping to take it home and doctor it up a bit — but the following day after I warmed it up and threw better cheese on it, it still couldn’t be saved :(. With so many amazing options to be had in the best culinary city in the world, I don’t get why anyone would enthusiastically love the Dos Caminos franchise. Even Chevy’s is significantly better… in fact, I adore Chevy’s!(Sue me, hahahaha!!!). The food item I do always rant about here, is their Queso Fundido dip. Our table also loved it — pretty sure we ended up ordering like 2 or 3 of these warm, melty cheesy square-shaped skillets of joy and happiness. Times I’ve also come here included drinks and lunch with co-workers. At this point I usually get their chicken burrito. It’s got rice, chicken, cheese and sour cream. It’s not all bad. But Chipotle and Qdoba very much excel in this area as well. Given the over-pricedness of Dos Caminos, no fast food chains should be better — but they are. I mean, almost $ 20 for a burrito and like $ 17 for 3 measly tacos? Yeah. That’s ridic to me. I’m Latina. I know better, hence my two star review. Quick tip though: If you get their Queso Fundido Dip(which you absolutely should if you find yourself in this culinary abyss) ask for more free warm tortillas to consume the dip with. They only give you like 3 and that isn’t enough for anyone. Pffft.

Quality food, nice atmosphere and reasonable for lunch! I’ve been to this location several times with family. Also for a work luncheon when I worked nearby. I’ve never been disappointed. I had the Chicken Cobb salad one time. It was too huge to finish. I saw a relative enjoy the quesadilla. I get that every time now! I always save room for desert. Once my daughter got a banana split. It was enough for two people. We knew better next time! I don’t see it on the menu any longer. I get ice cream or sorbet. It’s always delicious. Service is professional. The place is always clean. I’ve been to one other Dos Caminos location. I will review it separately. Very disappointing. Highly recommend this location! Great date place!

Fines here last night for a friend’s birthday with a party of 13. We were sat at a large round table, but a few guests felt they didn’t ha e enough room. I ordered two different drinks. I started out with the spicy«Durango» margarita. It definitely has a kick to it! The tequila is infused with chili peppers. I then needed to give my mouth a break from spicy and went for a monitor. Another great drink with fresh mint. For food, the table ordered 3 guacs. The spicy guac was amazing! Super fresh and chunky and just delicious. No complaints at all! There were a trio of salsas also given with chips. As an entrée I chose the grilled mahi mahi soft tacos. The fish was cooked to perfection and topped with a slaw and jalapeños in the tortilla. So delicious! I can’t wait to come back here!

Every time I go to Dos Caminos it’s a different type of experience. That said, I’ve been to this location enough to make this assessment: This is a three-star place. Because the décor is pretty cool it’s easy to remember that you’re paying a good amount of money for tacos that you can get at a Mexicue or Choza for about the same price – maybe less. Today was particularly interesting because I got my tacos«naked.» They give you one piece of mahi mahi that’s supposed to equal the two pieces you usually get in a taco. If that’s the case, it became startlingly clear to me how little«meat» you’re getting in these tacos. The little bit of greens, beans an quinoa don’t begin to make up for the rice and beans you usually get as part of the taco dish. Is all of this isolated? No, of course not. I’ve always thought that while some of these meals were tasty, some just missed the mark. And all are slightly to very overpriced. And then there’s the service. I’ve never had one-star service, but I’ve never had five star service either. And I’ve had two-star service more often than four star service. Today it was especially clear that no one on the staff wanted to be there. I guess I don’t blame them – the place was mostly empty at 1pm minus five tables. I had to flag down our guy a few times to try and get extra salsa and chips. If you’re looking for an impromptu place for an eight-top during lunch, this does the trick. But if you’re looking for a destination for some good, well priced food you can do much better.

I always end up here for my friends’ birthdays who want a nice/classy dinner environment but also want delicious Mexican food/margaritas. This is a great combination of the two, which is hard to find in New York. We were able to make dinner reservations the day-of by calling the restaurant and speaking to a hostess. She then sent us an email confirmation immediately getting off the phone with her to confirm our reservation. Once we arrived, we were seated right away. As I was about to check-in on Unilocal,I saw that Dos Caminos offered a FREE Prickly Pear Shot(one of their signature margarita drinks in shot form) to everyone who checked in. I immediately told everyone to pull out there phones, check-in, and our waiter had those shots ready for us within 5 minutes. It was a great start to the evening and we were able to toast to the birthday girl, courtesy of Dos Caminos. The shot was so yummy that about half the table ended up ordering the Prickly Pear Margarita as their beverage of the night, including me! If you come to Dos Caminos and DONOT order the Guacamole, you’ve done it all wrong. The guac here is TODIE for — seriously, I’m from California and this is on my top 5 places to come for guac. So I highly recommend, actually no, I INSIST you order the guac as an appetizer. Dos Caminos also provides complimentary chips with four other salsas that are really good as well. Don’t be shy to ask for more when you run out! I ended up ordering the carne asada tacos naked(which is the carne asada over a bowl of grains, beans, greens and avocado). This is a healthier, but still full of flavor, alternative instead of getting the carne asada tacos with tortillas. When I first received my plate, I thought the portion size was on the smaller side but towards the end of my meal I was stuffed. It’s a lot more filling than it looks, especially if you start off with the guac as an appetizer. Once we all finished our dinners, to our surprise, the waiter brought out a dessert for the birthday girl that consisted of ice cream, churros, whipped cream, and warm hot fudge. We weren’t expecting this at all because we didn’t ask for it, but it was much appreciated! Especially since we all ended up having a bite of the dessert… mmmmmmm :) All around, great/pleasurable experience here!

I’ve been to Dos Caminos several times. The first time I came here the food was pretty good. I had the spicy guacamole, which they make right in front of you. In addition, I had the steak and bacon over risotto. Really great. The place gets super packed, I advise you to make a reservation otherwise you’ll get stuck sitting outside under the heater or just somewhere that they stick you. After the first initial time, every experience after that went downhill. The food comes out cold and the steak comes out too dry. The service here is okay, like I said it gets busy so sometimes waiters are slower than usual. Don’t think I would come back.

Dos Caminos is a hit or miss restaurant that is still and will forever be over-priced for what it is worth. I’ve never been to this location but met up with friends for a birthday dinner last weekend. Was watching my wallet so split an order of guac and queso fundido with the group and choose to just get an additional side instead of an entrée. If you order any apps the queso is pretty great. Super cheesy with chunks of chorizo and jalapenos served with a side of warm pressed tortillas. But if you have like 6 – 7 people they stupidly still only will give you 3 measly tortillas. Fortunately, they don’t charge extra if you ask for more. But they still will only bring you out an additional 3. Setting that annoyance aside, I ordered myself a Dia De Los Muertos Hop on or Die IPA and my side of Mac and Chorizo. Glory be to gods I regretted it later. But not just because it was too much cheese but mostly that was the most pathetic macaroni I’ve had even from a subpar restaurant or bar. The macaroni was in the shape of wheels with a very dense sauce. It was also served luke warm and sprinkled with crumbled up nacho chips which were soggy and not crunchy. The chorizo was okay but in very fine flakes. Honestly, the jalapenos were my favorite part. The noodles were like wacky mac from the box that had been way over-cooked and left to be a soggy mushy mess. Very off-setting dish and my stomach didn’t feel great later. Other people seemed satisfied with their food or indifferent: vegetarian tacos, asada steak for the birthday boy, mexico city street corn. Though, one of my friends also ordered the mac and chorizo sans jalapenos and also commented on how horrible it tasted and macaroni is one of her favorite food groups. Lets not kid ourselves, it was Steph. lol. Another friend had ordered the baja lobster tostaditas which I noted were microscopically tiny for being a $ 13 dish but it was also listed as a starter, so there you go. Finished off with some birthday cake(Salted Caramel Tres Leches Cake) — I tried a bite or two and must admit it was pretty amazing. Salty and sweet and milky the way it should be. I come here wanting to be impressed but usually never am. Tips: Do get the Queso Fundido and go to town on it. I hear good things about the skillet corn bread and the sweet plantains are great. Hard to mess up and on the cheaper side. Don’t forget there is a Unilocal Check in special for a free frozen prickly pear shot. A little girly but pretty tasty.

Free prickly pear shot?! Sign a sista up!!! I got the Durango marg which is spicy. It packed a little heat but was prob a 1 out of 5 in terms of flavor. It’s warm but not flavorful. They should add a mango to it or something. It needs help. I got the happy hour tacos duo & the guacamole. Nothing to write home about. The guacamole was bland. I tasted no cilantro, no onion, no lime. It tastes like mashed avocado by itself, avoid. The tacos… well they sucked too. I tasted the shell not the meat which is a huge disappointment. The pork is better than the other but still not good. I would def not re-order. My server was very pretty & accommodating though.

We came here with a big group of 9, around 3 o’clock on a Wednesday afternoon after the NYU commencement ceremony. The restaurant was mostly empty, and despite the fact that we were about half an hour early for our reservation(it had not taken us as long to get from Yankee Stadium to the restaurant as we had predicted) they sat us immediately. Our server was quick, competent and friendly, and when I checked in and got the free Prickly Pear shot offer, she was so sweet and brought everyone at the table a free shot(and it was really yummy, too!) The food was pretty darn good. Not the cheapest($ 24 for guacamole if you’re ordering it for more than 4 people) but good quality. The chips and guac were addictive, and it seemed like they were bringing chip refills faster than we could eat them. Word of advice: if you order the chips and guac, order a small dish for your entrée. I ordered the Pescado tacos(three mahi mahi tacos) which were delicious, but I was already so full from the chips that I could barely finish my three tacos. I did though, because they were really good. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mole chicken enchiladas, too. And a nice touch was the bowl of rice and beans for the table. Dos Caminos has a great atmosphere, friendly and courteous staff, and pretty good food. Give them a try. And definitely check in for your free Prickly Pear shot, that thing was tasty.
