No complaints. We split the pork skin, ribs, and enchiladas. We showed up early enough to nab one of the tables outside on a beautiful Friday evening and had a great time. Knowing we had a movie we were trying to make at the Angelika, we rushed the server a bit and she was super accommodating and sped up the dinner as quickly as she could. The chips and guac/salsa looked dope so I’ll have to try that next time I’m there but I’d definitely recommend this to anyone craving Mexican in Soho.

Dos Caminos doesn’t have the most amazing Mexican food or drinks(I’d say a solid 3 given the price) but I give this location an extra star for the outdoor space/ambiance during the summer. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the patio was the perfect shady area to have a snack and some drinks. Lively atmosphere in a laid back setting. Great for people watching(it was especially good when we came thanks to Pride week festivities)! Frozen margaritas were strong. Guacamole isn’t the best but good enough. Appetizers were good but small portions. Service was fine, nothing spectacular. They had TVs above the bar area playing the Euro cup games.

So I actually really like Dos Caminos. I have heard about it before, most notably from an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians I think, and never made the effort to go. But a friend invited me to happy hour there and I’m so glad she did. First and foremost there are happy hour deals on food and drink. Major plus in my book because I love a happy hour drink as much as the next person, but food is my first love. I like the atmosphere/décor. I think it is fun and a little different. It has outdoor seating which is great for the summer. Also I really like that you see a diverse crowd of people there. Other pros: The food tastes good The small guacamole is rather large The outdoor seating is a little enclosed around the sides so it feels a little cozy I’ve gone back again and plan to go back later this month — which is rare for me. There are so many places to try that I often try to go to new places each time I go out. But I plan on keeping Dos Caminos as a go-to happy hour spot, especially since there are many locations all over the city. I highly recommend!

Not an especially pleasant experience. The good, our server was from Charleston and turned on his souther charm which had my mother in law eating out the palm of his hand. The underwhelming, pretty much everything else, mediocre food(how does this survive against the razor sharp competition in NY?), dreadful layout and décor, dirty toilets. Nope. Not at all.

Came here for lunch, sat outside since the weather was so nice today. The pros: décor and overall atmosphere is super cute. The Chorizo Fundido was really good, basically a mix between nachos and Mac&Cheese, but minus the chips and macaroni. Brother got the short ribs, said they were good. The waitress was very nice and checked in on us periodically. Cons: The Rosé Sangria was basically a pitcher of pink lemonade and was a total waste to get it. The Quesadillas Potosinas were gross. The texture was very spongey, and had this lime cilantro taste neither of us were into. The Baja tacos would have been okay if the skirt steak wasn’t burnt to inedible dog meat, the fried shrimp wasn’t bad. Both our rice was undercooked, which is surprising since he got the risotto and the rice was still pretty hard. I know this is out of the restaurant’s control but if you have a chance don’t sit outside. There was bird sh*t in a decent amount of places and at one point even some on my phone. They sit on the lights that are strung across. BEWARE!

A friend and I were craving Mexican and decided to give Dos Caminos a try after seeing their invitation to come in for a free Picky Pear shot on Unilocal! We found a seat at the crowded bar at the tail end of Happy Hour. The Picky Pear is not too sweet and not too sour. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, though! Don’t let its size fool you, it is very strong! After about a 25 minute wait we were seated and decided on chips and salsa to start. It was a mere $ 4 charge for a refillable trio of mild salsa verde, medium, and hot habanero. For dinner, my friend opted for the«Naked“Asada, a steak taco dish without the taco, served over grains, beans, and guac! I got the«Naked» Baja, a steak and shrimp combo. Overall, great atmosphere, great service, and great food!

2nd stop on my friend’s birthday on Friday. I’ve been to a bunch of locations but not this one until now. Def not as small as I thought when looking at it but it DOES fill up very quickly. Best to make reservations. The service was SLOWWWWWWWWWWW… Took us about an hour to order and when we arrived the main dinning room area only had 2 other small parties in it. Pet Peeve: I am not a tourist. If I ask you a question about the food don’t be a DICK about it. Example: The ladies were craving Guac, I mean when do I NOTWANT delicious avocados? So we ordered 2, one with pineapple and one without(bc I can’t have it) and they arrived some time later. There was a significant difference in the amount the plain had when compared to the pineapple. I asked politely to the server if maybe they were different sizes, which was my nice way of asking What the Hell HAPPENEDTOTHERESTOFIT? I mean it did look like they gave us someone else’s ½ eaten one. The server rolled her eyes and said«NO» and proceeded to walk away. I stopped her and asked if she could kindly fill the rest of the bowl as there was a huge difference between the 2 servings. Then the rest of the girls chimed in. She had to have another server come over. FORWHAT I HAVENOIDEA. I polietly asked the exact same thing and HEROLLED his eyes and took it away. I mean its not coming out of your paycheck but there went her tip. Other than that the rest of the meal was tasty. Some ladies had the deconstructed tacos, I had the salmon. Very good!

Chicken tacos are amazing, very taste and flavorful. I also had steak tacos, they were okay not as good as the chicken tacos. I think it was the spicy sauce. The breakfast quesadilla was also amazing packed with flavor. And the give you rice and beans to share.

Dos Caminos NY Manhattan SoHo 8pm Saturday 12th March 2016 Four Stars The stated wait time was 15 minutes for the outside patio but before we could pay for a drink at the bar, we were seated. With a Unilocal check in, we got a free frozen prickly pear shot. It was a slushy pink margarita concoction with a bit more tequila poured over it. We enjoyed some thin and crispy tortilla chips with some fresh Guacamole($ 14). There were chunks of decent avocados, a lot of lime, and a bit of tomato. The Salsa trio was quite delicious. The mild tomatillo, the medium mochajete, and a spicy habanero were packed with flavors. Our food took over 20 minutes to arrive. I had the overnight 18 ingredient mole short ribs($ 26). The meat was tender and very filling. The rissoto was undercooked and didn’t ooze like lava. I expected it to have more Mexican taste profile. The corn tortillas were soft. The service was pretty good. Overall, a good place to eat some modern Mexican food.

Hi, I was there on January 20 with 2 colleagues from out of town. The experience was a bit disappointing especially in terms of service: First, don’t use the coat check! They actually keep the coats outside, in some sort of place that is not isolated(it is protected from the rain, but it gets all the cold air) and when you get your coat back, it is actually freezing cold! This is completely crazy: we are in the winter, it is cold outside so we wear a coat to be warm but at this restaurant, when they give you back your coat, it is as cold as outside… This is enough of a reason to skip this place. Then, the waitress was so distracted. it was a Wednesday evening, the place was not crowded but for some reason it was impossible to get her attention and actually even find her… Finally, the food is WAY over priced and just ok. The large guacamole for $ 24 is actually rather small. It looks like they did not even use 2 avocados for it. The chips were a mix of old stale chips and fresh ones. Entrees were just average. There are so many nice restaurants in soho that you can skip this place and go to a nicer place for a similar price range.

I was lured in on a summer night because who doesn’t like to have dinner at a place with outdoor seating? At first glance, the restaurant is swanky. I almost felt under-dressed. My date and I wanted outdoor seating, so we had to wait, but we were seated promptly despite how busy the outdoor area was. Sadly, the service here was a miss for me. Our server was kind, but was distracted. He wasn’t very attentive, but to his defense, it was very busy. I just wish they weren’t so understaffed, considering the fact that I’ve ALWAYS walked passed this place and have seen it just as busy, if not busier. The food here was also a disappointment. I had the Oaxacan shrimp quesadilla which was too messy and so not worth the price. My date ordered the skirt steak asada which was nothing to write home about. The only thing they did right was the guacamole. I do not mind paying a little more than I usually would for good food and service, but the price tag for everything really left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Forget it. What a waste of money for my friend’s birthday! Ambiance is beautiful. Service… so strange. Our server seemed so distracted, and short with us. Appetizer arrived after the entrees, he took that off the bill. My friend’s fish tacos were SUPER fishy, he took those off the bill(don’t get the Mahi Mahi tacos). My carnitas tacos were really greasy. All in all not a friendly experience. We overheard one of the servers arguing with a busser. It doesn’t seem like the staff is very happy! There are so many great restaurants in NYC. I totally regret making reservations here. (MARGARITASWEREGOOD!)

You have to go in expecting Mexican American fusion. The service was good(check in on Unilocal to get a free prickly pear shot!) and the food is decent. I got the mahi mahi tacos and they were a little cold on the cold side. A friend got the shrimp quesadilla and it comes out more of a shrimp pizza but he wasn’t blown away either. The sangria is pretty sugary. Overall it felt much more of a convenience place for a work gathering since the ambiance is kind of fun, seating is easy and it’s not crowded.

Surprised a restaurant this bad survives in Manhattan anywhere outside of Times Square. Service was bad. Aside from the guacamole, which was okay, the food(Baja tacos and shrimp quesadilla) was just terrible. Tasted like something you would get in an airport.

In New York you can find so many places that serves excellent Mexican food — this is not one of them. We ordered two different kinds of tacos and a frozen margarita. From being Mexican food I was surprised by how tasteless it was — no spices or salt, just plain boring. The prices are also a bit high compared to what you get — can find other places with way better food and way cheaper prices. The place in itself looks nice and are clean. The service could be better no smiles and are a bit slow. When I return to New York I will stick to my regular Mexican restaurants.

Came here for lunch during the work week. Delicious guacamole made for a strong start to the meal. we opted for the seasonal guac which came with tortilla chips and cucumber slices. This place is really great if you want to split dishes to share. Some highlights include the ceviche platter which comes with three types and the tour de tacos which is 2 of 3 types of tacos. Everything came out quickly and very fresh which is a plus. Service was attentive and speedy. I’d return anytime!

We stopped into Dos Caminos in the odd hour of 3 pm on a weekday. Everything was seemingly closed but Dos Caminos had a sign out, boasting a happy hour from 3 — 7:30 pm with discounted drinks and small plates. Since we wanted both, we walked in. Happy hour was in the bar section which is where we sat. It was brightly lit thanks to some huge windows that looked out to a charming patio. We ordered one traditional margarita($ 8) and one prickly pear($ 8). The prickly pear was a frozen margarita that was in a machine so I was at first skeptical but it was tasty, not too sweet, and packed a punch.(Bonus, we checked in on Unilocal and scored two shot-sized versions of the prickly pear margarita) We ordered some happy hour foods including some fries, queso fundido, empanadas, and guac. The fries had almost a poutine like topping that my friend didn’t like but I enjoyed thoroughly. The guac was made with green onions instead of white which I though made it far more delicious. The queso fundido has some different spices in it. I thought I detected tarragon? It was served with warm tortillas and was a hit. The empanadas were probably something I wouldn’t revisit. I thought it was a clever recipe, the shell was made from plantains. but the end result was relatively bland. We had another round of margaritas and left pretty happy and plenty tipsy. They lose a half star for the fact that the patio door just wouldn’t stay closed. To be fair, it was also because customers would come in and wouldn’t bother to close the door. However, it didn’t latch easily and staff often left it cracked and it was a cold day. Eventually, they moved a table in front of it so folks wouldn’t use it. Finally, another half star because while the bartender was making our drink, the pint glass he was using with the shaker shattered all over the bar and floor. No biggie, it happens! However it weirdly took a little time for them to address it and many clients and staff walked through broken glass like it was invisible. We found ourselves cautioning folks as they walked by on their behalf.

Dos Caminos in Soho. The Sangria at Dos Caminos was good, the Chips and Guac is good, The Chicken Tika is good, and the Tacos equally good; This being said, the price and service, not so good. Great food honestly, and a great atmosphere with an exciting menu. Alright service but, throughout the night it steadily declined.

Seriously awesome place! While I didn’t eat here, we just drank. Had a regular margarita which was brilliant by the way. But I’m gutted we didn’t have something else. Chatting to the nicest bartender in Spanish, who offered us a sample of the spicy margarita. It was to die for! I wanted to come back but ran out of time. Loved this bar! Next trip, come back and try the food.

Décor: 4⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 Food: 4⁄5 Lots of windows with a view of the patio and streets. Service was mediocre. I requested the server to check if the fresh fruit side had honeydew or cantaloupe since I’m mildly allergic. She never came to report back. –White wine sangria($ 32) had about six servings and was not weak at all. It had minimal amounts of fruits. –Warm corn tortilla with guac was quite good. Well seasoned with good flavor. There was enough to share between three

Definitely a hot spot in Soho. This beautiful looking Mexican restaurant is the place to be seen when the weather is warm. Beautify lit, ample outdoor room. Menu isn’t huge but it’s sufficient. Nice choice of beer. Food was very tasty. Portion size was average. The only negative thing to say is the service sucked from getting the menus, ordering, waiting for the check then waiting again to check cards back! The food came out quickly

The search for real Mexican food in NYC continues… I came here with a friend that is also a California native and both of us looked at our tacos in sadness. It’s not real at all. There was a just a lot of a disappointment all around. But the spicy salsa is actually spicy which is a definite plus. There wasn’t anything stand out about the place and the service was spotty. The drinks are pretty good — which was kind of the saving grace of the meal(aside from the company). I recommend anything prickly pear. I would say the food is actually 2.5 stars. I bump it up to three because I like the vibes and aesthetics.
