I was there yesterday for lunch. It is old, tired with a filthy bathroom and upstairs. I complained but I think that no one cared… when walking up the dirty stairs to the bathroom, which is really a store room area I was appalled. There are many other places to eat in New York City, clean and good food… there is never a need to go here.

the food was aweful and the service attentive. The wine list was awful. Not much I can say more but please do not bother as there are so many other places that are nearby and so much better.

Although this place is a bit small it was very cozy and antique looking. I actually had a double date here it was very nice their service is alright but their food is really good. However they have another restaurant next to them with a similar name but much more expensive. I got the rigatoni con prosciutto e formaggio. It was a very interesting combination of greens and salad and it tasted delicious. My boyfriend got the lasagne bolognese. It was huge but according to him it was really good. The setting like I said before is very cozy and a nice place for a romantic date.

I came here because of the 4 star Unilocal review, but the pasta tasted like it came straight out of a box and not as good as I can make myself. Soup was mediocre as well. I wouldn’t come back.

I went for a late dinner with friends a few nights ago and only have the best words for this establishment. I tried to get into the regular Vivolo restaurant next door and the host rudely told us he had no room for anyone and told us to go here, even though there were multiple open tables. So we go next door, are very kindly attended to, with bread and butter and water while we waited for our plates. I ordered Chicken Francese, which came with lightly sautéed vegetables and spinach. This is probably some of the best and tender chicken I’ve ever had. Absolutely scrumptious. I’m not usually a fan of vegetables but the cook at this place seriously knows how to do it right. I had a prix fixe dinner and it wasn’t princely highly for the quality that was provided. I ended the meal off with a piece of lemon pound cake that had fresh strawberries and whipped. Omg, seriously amazing cake. Based on food, and ambiance, I would have rated this 5 stars, but the rude host at the regular Vivolo was not very kind and the two are affiliated.

We tried their arugula chicken salad and sampled their home made bread for a light lunch. Large portions and excellent prep made this delicious and delightful! Reminder. Cucina vivola is the café And not the restaurant which is adjacent. Most salads were 8.50.

Came here for a Date-Night with one of my friends. Price: GREAT! She had a pasta dish, I had a Panini and we ordered a carafe of Red Wine(which served two glasses each); bill was $ 40! Food: GREAT! The portions seemed larger than we expected. You don’t need an appetizer here. I had a pesto, parmesan and grilled chicken Panini. So good! Drink: The wine was good. We ordered house red. Wasn’t boxed wine, but was a house red. $ 15 for a carafe that gave us each 2 glasses each, it’s great. No complaints here. Location: On Lexington Avenue on 74th… great location. Ambiance: It was casual and comfy. This location is the laid-back version of the actual Vivolo restaurant. So, it was very café like. Staff: Friendly, not pushy and attentive. I fully recommend this place for a cheap night out. :)

My review is actually for their 58th Street location. I came here with my boss and a colleague for a quick lunch and was really delighted by the quality of food. It’s attached to Bar Vetro, so I’m not surprise, just delighted. I’m trying to eat fish, so I had tuna over greens. The greens were really fresh and a nice mix that complemented the tuna. The tuna salad was light, and as someone who typically hates all-things mayo-based, I was happy that they didn’t seem to use too much. For $ 8.50, I’d certainly order this multiple times per week, or some variation on it. I am also tempted to try their whole wheat pasta dish. It all just sounded so gooood.

So, I’m confused… Bar Vetro and Cucina Vivolo are basically one in the same at the 58th street location… I have never had drinks at the bar, I’ve only ran in on quick breaks from work for a panini in their extremely small counter service area. I am assuming I am writing the review for the correct place, since there is definitely no «bar» at the counter area… For the stuffy, typically overpriced, upper east side this place is great for lunches and cheap for the quality of food that you get. The panini’s are amazing and fresh, fresh, fresh!!! The iced coffee is in a world of it’s own. By far, the absolute best iced coffee that I’ve had. ever. You can literally get a fresh panini or an enormous salad and an iced coffee for about $ 10-$ 11. In this part of town, that’s awesome… and you aren’t getting that premade PAX/GiGi’s sandwich that’s been sitting in a cold case for 5 hours… this is quality. Service is always great. Everyone there is always quick to help. Same people almost every time I’ve been. Now, the place is small, really small. There are tables to sit at, but it makes the place feel a bit crowded. I prefer to take it to go. Other than that, the place is great!

I came here with 2 friends the other day. It has a modern/sleek look to the place, but it’s a bit small. Each table had a single tea-light candle placed on it– so it gave a warm and intimate feel to the restaurant. Outdoor seating is available, but since it was humid out– we wanted to stay inside. There were a lot of people when we got there so we had to wait 20 – 25 minutes. We sat in the bar section and ordered some bruschetta. My friend had the sangria– it was quite tasty! The food was pretty good, but the waiter accidentally got my friend’s salad order wrong. We didn’t make a fuss about it because it still tasted good, but if you go– just make sure you verify your order so that the mistake doesn’t happen to you. I got italian meatloaf with mashed potatoes and my other friend got a spaghetti dish with some chicken. It was a cozy place to eat with a small group of friends. The price wasn’t too shabby either! :-D
