This place isn’t too bad, the bathroom is big and cleaner than expected. There is a nice comfy sitting area and a good space to get up and dance, the drinks were a bit weak tho. But I didn’t want to get totally tanked anyway. I would definitely go here again.

The good news about Crash is that it is spacious, comfortable and laid back in terms of its layout. It is also a very good location to hear a band play. Although its all on one level, you can have a good view from a lot of different angles even when their makeshift dance floor near the stage is full. The bad news is that the prices at Crash are a little steep when compared to other live music spots in the area. Expect more club prices than dive bar prices when you step up to the bar. Have fun. G

I went to Crash Mansion to see a band maybe a couple of months ago, it was a thursday night and I was hoping to check out some cool band who would inspire me to see more concerts and check out new bands. That night was a waste of my time. When I first entered, there was no staff attending to the coat check, i had to wait 5 – 10 minutes to just hang my coat. The space was cool, but the staff was not helpful at all. The bartender was so slow and couldn’t keep up with the drink orders. The band sucked, and they didn’t have a lot of people attending. The price to enter was reasonable, but there staff cannot keep up with a new york crowd. Final word: i would only go back if a band that I really liked was playing here, besides that it’s not worth it when there so many other awesome places in nyc.

Was recently at Crash Mansion on a Saturday night to see a band play. We arrived around 9:25 p.m. and sat down at one of the tables near the stage. It wasn’t too crowded and had a nice ambiance. There was a two-drink minimum at the tables, but it didn’t seem to be heavily enforced since a friend sitting a the table next to us only got one. Two G&Ts for $ 14 was not a terrible deal. There was plenty of room to sit, which was nice, but the music played before the band came on was WAY too loud. It was one of those lean-in-to-your-friend’s-ear-and-yell-and-she-still-doesn’t-hear-me kinda nights. Other than that, it was a fun night. The band was awesome, the crowd was fun and the bathrooms were clean. It was a big plus that there was some separation between the bar area and the performance area. The bartenders were also attentive so it was easy to get a drink quickly. Fun place. I’d go again to see a live band perform!

$ 10 to enter, live music, awesome bands, good crowd. Drinks are somewhat average. But they do have a deal for a beer and a shot of Jack for $ 8. I savored on my Stoli O on the rocks and it definitely was watered down or not Stoli O. Bathrooms were plenty, but one of the stalls do NOT have a coat hanger, avoid the middle stall when you walk in. Bartender had a non friendly look on her face, but once you began talking to her she was super sweet, I think her name was Katie. The décor is pretty, shocking from the outside looking sort of trashy once you enter and go down the stairs, the whole area is beautiful with nice brick walls and pretty lounge seats around the stage. Food is also available.

Management stinks. Even if you attend a show that is all-ages, be prepared to bring ID, and if it’s an out-of-state ID, be ready to have them raise fuss about it. Apparently they are very strict about this policy, but say nothing about it on their website. It’s not a big deal to me, since I always carry an ID. What’s a big deal is to have them be disrespectful about the one I do have. If you are under 16(which I am far from, luckily) and attending an all-ages event, you are not allowed inside without an adult relative. I completely understand the reason for this policy, but unfortunately, this was not made known either on the event page for the show I attended, or the venue’s website. This is an important thing to clear up, especially when the show you’re hosting will bring in teenagers. The space itself is nice and small. If you’re the type to sit at a show, there’s plenty of room, though I’m not. The sound kinda sucks, but I’ve also seen worse. Overall I’m not dying to go back here, but if a band I really like has a show here, I’ll just bring my US passport and see if that’s a valid enough ID for them.

Upon walking into Crash Mansion, I was truly surprised. I expected it to be like most NYC bar/performance venues(dark, smokey, dreary, beat up). It wasn’t! The place was super clean, didn’t reek of stale alcohol, and had tons of space and seating for the concert. The sound system was pretty decent as well. The bartenders were really cool, laid back, and generous with their pour. The venue was crowded but it didn’t feel like you were being pushed and elbowed. I could also have a normal conversation with friends and not scream. I dig it. :)

Went here last night because a friend of a friend works here… part-time cocktail waitress. Very interesting crowd, total mix of people, everyone from hard core rockers to pretty laid back men in suit jackets. The band was OK, if your into the head banging music. I’m not, but It wasn’t unbearable. Everyone that worked their seemed really chill, and they made some pretty strong mixed drinks and shots. It sounded like there was a birthday party last night, for some event promoter, but it still was a good time. Also, liked the fact that it wasn’t SUPER crowded. I will definitely go back!

My boss is in a band and he played a gig here so I went and it was a pretty chill bar. The real draw was that between 9 and 10 p.m. there was an open bar. Good music, good drinks, affordable despite the $ 10 cover, just wish there were more people. Nice staff, too!

I’ve been bakk here a few times since«The Big Quiz Thing», to see some live events and stuff, it’s a great venue for such… But yesterday, I went here for their new Kings of Karaōke party, which is after Midnite on Tuesdays, and it was great fun! It’s the first time I went, so I guess I was expecting a lot more people there, but there just weren’t that many, there were MAYBE, 15 people there, tops. A very small amount for any bar, but Crash is a big place, so it looked even more empty. However, I went to a party some years ago that was a lot of fun at a club that is now closed(The Elite Ark), and there weren’t alot of people in there that nite either, and I remember the DJ saying over the Mic, don’t watch the amount of people, watch the vibes!!! This sums up Crash Mansion last nite… It was pretty empty, but everyone was enjoying it, ESPECIALLY the host, who is a Karaōke maniac(he did a most amazing rendition of «I gotta Man» with 2 microphones by himself, impressive) not unlike myself… I sang a bunch of songs, and everyone was really into it, maybe because they are big Karaōke fans, maybe because you get 2 free drinks when you sing a song(but you didn’t hear that from me!)…I LOVEEEE Karaōke and Crash is trying out a new thing, and they have a ton of songs… chekk them out on Tuesday nites, after Midnite… free entry!!!

THISREVIEWISFORTHEBIGQUIZTHINGEVENTHELDATCRASHMANSION. The Big Quiz Thing is a NYC Live Trivia game show held at Crash Mansion, it starts at 7:30, and occurs every other Monday. Check out Crash Mansion’s site for details. I suggest coming an hour early, and stand on line to get good seats. I came here with a friend of mine, and upon arrival we were immediately intimidated by the crowd. We’re in our early 20’s amongst a crowd of nerdy(yet awesome) adults anywhere btwn 10 – 20 years older than us, with a hint of people around our age. As you walk inside, you pay the lady $ 7, grab a good seat, I’d suggest the front for a better view of the projector screen, and walk up to Noah(host) and grab a quiz sheet. Be prepared to answer 5 rounds of what felt like the hardest questions in the world(study before hand). You’re playing for points, and a grand prize of $ 200. Although my team, was sadly, in last place, we had a really fun time. And I got to meet a couple of people and made some friends. 1. Come with a GROUP of SMART friends, or not, but you’re guaranteed a good time. 2. Be prepared to answer questions from pop culture to politics and history. 3. $ 7.00 to play 4. The crowd gets very intense 5. Host is hilarious 6. If you don’t know the answer you get points if its a «smart ass» answer 7. The rounds not only involve questions, but video and pictures. 8. Having a drink and playing trivia with your friends is a lot of fun. 9. They serve food! 10. I left smiling and felt the need to go home and study, and not for the next game, but for myself. felt a little dumb after.

indie rock meets classy… My friend and I went here last night to check out a few of the bands that were playing. While the music was good, my friend and I were most impressed with the venue. Spacious with a large dance space, small tables on the side, a large bar, and a gorgeous exposed stone interior this place is definitely not the grungy indie rock venue you expect. I’m not the type of person who goes to shows often, but I can definitely see myself going back here! p. s. my only complaint-the $ 3 coat check, totally not worth it!

I came to this place already hammered, so I can’t really comment on the drink strength, but I can comment on the atmosphere from a drunkards perspective. We got in for free because ladies were free before midnight or something like that(which was a huge plus). I thought the décor was nice and there weren’t any creeps trying to dance with us and grope us(another plus). Also, there were several rooms with different types of music, which I enjoyed. Basically, I would come here again with my girlfriends for a night of dancing.

Downstairs to BLVD. Just as clean, with a more indie rock feel. This place is so much fun. If you’re a fan of live music and cheap beer, this is the place to be on a Friday night. They have this event called«Between a Rock and a Hard Place» that has at least 4 or 5 bands playing a few songs each. It’s a great time and people come here to let loose. Sound system is amazing. That’s important when you have tons of talent coming into your space!

echostream performed here last night! great show~! anyways, crash mansion is a nice, comfortable music venue w/ample bar space, dance space, and lounge seating area. not grungy but also not bougie, either. sounds were quite all right, as well. cant say much for the drink selection as they had the open bar going on which only included this mixed drink, but that was pretty all right, as well. not too sweet and not watered down. looking forward to seeing another show here!

Uhhh int he words of Larry David, this place is «Prettayy prettaay» interesting to say the least. The drinks were watered down, but I can’t expect any place with a 60 minute open bar to serve extra strong drinks, even if they are full of well booze. We were here to see a band play the CMJ festival and impatiently waited on line(regardless of the tickets in our hands) for a good 20 minutes. We weren’t even on time. When we finally entered the bar, we immediately ran to the first bartender we could find. People were grabbing 3 drinks at a time(what a show). There was plenty of space downstairs, which is great for a live music venue. It’s just too bad that their sound was not up to par. I was not impressed at all with their sound system. The treble was way too high, and we seemed to be sitting under the broken speaker. One thing I can’t vouch for other than my sense of smell was their food. It smelled amazing, and looked great, but we didn’t stay long enough to order anything. In the end, the music was terrible, the sound was even worse. It was better to sit on a comfortable couch and have a terrible time, than to stand, but I was still not impressed with Crash Mansion.

Your typical underground venue/club. Came here once already for Halloween, where they had an open Vodka bar till 11… haha great memories and THICKBOOZEGOGGLES that night! …so I decide to see it again without the goggles this time, well at least not as thick as the ones I had on before. Ok, the music was ok, they have a few bands playing that night and in between they would blast a combination of genres,.so expect to hear everything you come here. Drinks were decent, the place was decent, but nothing screamed wow to me…

Part of me hates myself for liking Crash Mansion, but it’s actually a decent venue to see bands. Sure, BLVD is a bit much and not a place I’d visit, but downstairs it’s a different scene. The performance space is open, it’s much nicer than most of the other venues downtown so it feels a little more professional and I’ve been here on Friday nights for free PBR specials… um, yes, please. Normally this isn’t my scene… the BLVD club-esque is definitely not for me, but Crash Mansion is actually separate and you wouldn’t really know they are affiliated. If you can score a banquette close to the stage it’ll be prime digs for a show. There’s plenty of somewhat cozy seating, so you can just lounge and relax while a waitress provides refills throughout the night. My overall impression is that it’s actually a pretty sleek spot, and if a good band is playing it wouldn’t be too bad for a date. Obviously it depends on the crowd(i.e. the music) but if you catch a show with a decent following, you’ll likely enjoy yourself here. Also, during my last visit they were showing Point Break on the TVs behind the bar… very solid.

I never knew this place was called the Crash Mansion! I used to come here all the time when I went to BLVD. I thought they were the same thing but I guess I was wrong. I haven’t gone to BLVD for years and most recently M and I came here for InTouch promo party. I went in place of my friend T and invited M to come along. They usually play good music here but tonight the Veronica’s were playing live. M is a heavy drinker… I cannot hang like that anymore so I was pretty much good after drinking all of my glasses of wine before I arrived at Crash Mansion. As we were chilling, we noticed there was a photobooth — COOL! I love photobooths! M and I ended up taking some pictures for $ 4.00! I would come back here again but I am not sure if this place is as good as it used to be.
