I’m surprised with all the negative comments. This cart actually has more tasty and flavorful food than the halal guys. I can only speak for the lamb and chicken over rice, which i had twice and were amazing. They have the white sauce and then two kinds of spicy sauce, mild and hot. But even the hot sauce at least is a good level of spicy and doesn’t byrn your mouth off like the hot sauce of the halal guys which basically is so spicy that you can’t taste anything else other than the sauce and can barely have a few drops. Overall i am very satisfied with the two items mentioned above from this cart!

I’ve definitely tasted much better falafel and rice from food trucks. The rice was bland and tasteless, the falafel wasn’t cooked completely and the hot sauce was definitely not hot.

It’s serviceable chicken and rice, but as others have said, the food lacks flavor. You wouldn’t think so by just looking at the chicken, which is very juicy, and seems to be marinated in a mix of spices. The marinade doesn’t come through though, and their red sauce is weak as well.

I don’t know where all the halal carts on Whitehall have gone but it’s disappointing to be reduced to only a few options. I stopped by this particular cart after the two I usually frequent were nowhere to be found. I asked for chicken over salad with red sauce and a drink. The two guys in the cart work fast and keep the line moving. My chicken was tender and good but the red sauce had ZERO kick. I’m used to it making me sniffle, nope nothing from this sauce. The salad was also disappointing since it seemed to be mostly lettuce and not much else. Overall, it’s a decent place for a quick grab and go lunch but don’t expect too much flavor.

This carts food is bland and no where near up to par with the Afghan guy further down towards Broadway. These guys have 2 customers an hour and it’s been like that since they’ve first appeared. You would think that they would get more clientele over the years however it’s the opposite. The other halal food guy gets business for a reason. I’ve stopped here a couple times just to try it out, the food made me sick and feeling very nauseous for the next few hours.
