I «discovered» Claudia in 2011, after not having had a good facial in a long while. I was looking for a personalized experience because having tried Bliss and other «chain» spas, I realized I was getting mixed reviews of my skin condition and various — often very expensive but useless — products pushed on me. Well, after I fell like a snowball into Claudia’s experienced hands, everything changed. She was very funny and honest from the start, dismissing about half the products I was using (I brought a printed list :)) telling me that my skin was actually not as bad as I thought! She made a few recommendations which I followed, gave me a few samples so that I can decide for myself if I want to use a product or not, and, most importantly, she took her time with extractions, thoroughly cleaning my skin to the point of it, literally, glowing. I was very grateful and happy to have found exactly what I was looking for. Claudia does not upsell you anything — if your skin is good and you need a facial 3 – 4 times a year only, that’s what you will hear! She is chatty and friendly, but very respectful of her clients. She is also the best advertisement of her own skills — her skin looks absolutely perfect!

Claudia is amazing! I was referred to her by a friend when i first moved to NY and I go to her for facials, waxing and laser. I have extremely sensitive skin, and she always gives me fantastic advice for skin care as well as hair removal. On top of her amazing skills, she is a hoot — always fun to chat with and genuinely cares about all of her clients.

I can’t even begin to put into words how much I love Claudia. Ever since I moved to New York my skin had gotten extremely clogged due to what I assumed to be the sticky weather and constant exposure to pollution, and I tried everything to clear it up. I went from dermatologist to dermatologist, who all told me that actually the clogging was something different, and the only way I could control it was to take accutane (and start taking birth control, bc accutane increases the risk of birth defects if you get pregnant while taking it), which is something i absolutely didn’t want to do. I saw Claudia just to see what her opinion would be, and she assured me she could fix me right up. much to my surprise, she did. seriously. She absolutely cleared up my skin, recommended slight adjustments in my cleansing habits and lotion choice, but she didn’t try to sell me anything unnecessary.
Warning to those who want to go in here and have a quiet, anonymous facial – not going to happen. Go in expecting to laugh your butt off and have an all-​around fun and soul-​cleansing experience. Claudia is a passionate, honest, fun-​loving esthetician (who really loves her job, which is in and of itself inspiring), is a dog lover, and will sincerely listen to your concerns (about skin, boys, job, whatever), and give you heartfelt and intelligent advice.

I love Claudia! I have been going to her now for close to 2 years and my skin looks better than ever. I’ve had problem skin since my early teens and have been to many specialists and fancy spas to try and clear it up. Claudia has helped me change my routine and answered any and all of my questions. And I love how passionate she is about her puppies :)

Claudia is amazing.
I have been to many spas in the city where a «facial» consists of rubbing various creams into your face while playing new age music. This is fine for some people, but if you are looking for real results Claudia is your girl. I have suffered from sensitive and problematic skin my entire life, and after seeing Claudia I have started to get compliments on my skin for the first time ever. Claudia is definitely talkative which I personally enjoy, and she is happy to answer all of your questions about skincare and how to alter your routine to fit the needs of your skin type. I never have redness or breakouts after a facial, which is a miracle because she really goes to town on the extractions (my favorite part). I am getting married in June and consider Claudia’s facials to be as essential to my big day as my hair or makeup. My future sister in law is also a believer and several of my friends have booked appointments after seeing what she has been able to do for my skin. If you are looking for a tranquil and frilly facial that will make you feel nice for the day look elsewhere, but if you are looking for real results in a lovely setting without any product pushing, you’ve found the right place!

I am actually incredibly confused about this glowing, 5-​star reviews. I booked a facial with Claudia because of how great the reviews were on Unilocal,and couldn’t believe how pushy I found her. She was talky-​talky-​talky the whole time but seemed really unfocused and unconcerned with my skin. She was a little condescending, too.
She even said that because my skin is particularly sensitive, she’s going to forego some of the things that are included in the treatment (massage and mask) so that she can do more extractions because we «don’t have enough time to do it all». Sorry, but if I’m paying for the whole treatment, I’d like the whole treatment. Also, she could have found plenty of time while she was chit-​chatting away about her friends and her apartment. She kept leaving for several minutes at a time, not just once but several times throughout the session.
The place was beautiful but my skin showed no improvement, not that day, not the following day, not the following week. I’ve had much better facials elsewhere, and without somebody who pushes her personality and opinions onto me, at the expense of the package I’ve purchased. I left feeling awful and let down.

i found out about cloud 9 via Unilocal when i was in desperate need of a good facial before a trip on which i needed to look my best. i was so busy after my first visit here back in august that i forgot to review! nevertheless, this is in no way to indicate that my experience was forgettable. i had a wonderful facial from claudia and she gave me sun screen samples (i mentioned i would be in brazil for a month) that i loved! the facial was thorough and relaxing, and it helped that claudia was super friendly. she made the facial fun! the price is a little steep, but it’s worth it. and for newbies, there is a discount!

Claudia is amazing! She is working out of Bloom now, but I would follow her anywhere. I have had facials before, but nothing like this. Just wow. She is an extractions EXPERT. This is not the kind of facial where someone rubs a couple of different creams on your face, gives you a little massage and sends you home. Claudia will clean you out. I had perfect skin for weeks!

My ‘signature facial’ with Claudia was awesome. I hate extractions for fear of breakouts afterwards, but she used this zip/​zap device afterwards to clean out bacterial stuff. It was great and my face felt dewy and so fresh afterwards! I definitely hope to go back.

Claudia is amazing! In the last 5 year, I’ve gone exclusively to Claudia for facials and treatments. My skin has never looked better! I have less breakouts in between treatments and my skin glows! On top of great facials, Claudia has an awesome personality and never EVER pushes products on me (unlike most other spas or salons I’ve been to). She is very knowledgeable about skin and gives great advise on how to maintain my skin.
Claudia also gives free extra perks, like heated booties for your feet during cold days (like today!). I will never go anywhere else for facials!

Claudia is fantastic. SO friendly and equally thoughtful. She knows what she’s doing, and she makes you feel engaged in the entire process. (And, holy cow, can she dominate a blackhead…)

I have been going to claudia for years and i really trust her. She always has time for you, the services she offers are really affordable and she always does a GREAT job with your skin!
She really cares and I always feel really comfortable in her hands no matter what I am getting done.

I love Claudia! I think she’s the only person that I can trust with my face from now on. She not only spends so much time with you, she also is so very honest. She never tried to push any products or force an upgrade.
I’ve been to so many other places that either treat your face like a piece of meat or spend the whole appointment attacking your wallet.
And her place is comfortable as can be– plus you walk feeling like Claudia is your long lost cousin, she’s just that awesome.

Why would you go to Cloud 9? That’s easy. I’ve been to many places in New York that praise themselves on doing great facials but the only place that has ever made a difference is Claudia’s skin spa.
If you go to mario badescu you are left alone in the room after a quick application of some mask and you’re treated like a person on a conveyer belt. The next day your skin looks no different than it did the day before the facial. Big hype without anything to back it up.
Other spas can’t come close to what Claudia does. Her approach is truly personalized and she actually cares about your skin improving and looking its best. She customizes each treatment to the season, your skin problem and to what you want to achieve. You leave with a beautiful glow and totally clean skin (that is after you get through her extractions — oh man — there is not a single blackhead safe from her!).
I have also been extremely happy with her laser hair removal. That’s the best investment you can make because it’s fast and you notice the difference the next day.
I’ll never have my face touched by anyone else!

Claudia is the best! She really knows her stuff, and does it all with a great attitude and sense of humor. I wouldn’t let anyone else get near me with hot wax or a laser. My skin felt fantastic the last time I saw her.
