Pretty ho hum food and passable service. Our pastas were nothing memorable and didn’t get the lemonade I ordered. Bruschetta was too hard to break with human teeth.

Cute place with fantastic Italian food. I’m a sucker for bottomless bread, which is always good before running a half marathon. I loved the food and the cozy little atmosphere. I would give it 5 stars, but the hostess was a bit on the snooty side and never told us when our table was ready. We had to go up and ask every 15 minutes because she just failed to even acknowledge her customers.

Finally! A great Italian restaurant on the UWS. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here since there aren’t a lot of really good options in the area. We sat outside on a lovely summer evening. Wanted to eat«light» because beach season is upon us, so we ordered the grilled octopus, fritto misto, beet ricotta salad and gnocchi. All were great — especially the octopus(so flavorful and tender!) and the homemade gnocchi which are perfectly cooked fluffy pillows. If I wasn’t trying to squeeze into my bathing suit next week, I would’ve surely devoured more. But will definitely come back to try other dishes. Wine list and desserts were pretty good as well: we had rosé(thankfully dry and from Provence), the lemon meringue tart and raspberry sorbet. Our waitress was also really nice and charming! Only taking off one star because they are a little pricey relative to the area, but I guess you get what you pay for!

I heard they had burgers and I rushed in to try it. I opted for the outside seating and was directed anywhere I felt comfortable. I complained a little about the sun, and they were quick to solve that problem for me, moving the awning further out. On to the food. Before I was handed a menu I immediately inquired about the burger, it was true and I made that order. It was so heavy and thick. No filler! Delicious beef burger the side order of herb fries. It also came with a type of dip, it was a bit spicy but I didn’t mind, gave the food a sort of kick. I have a new menu fav!

Based on the other reviews I’m going to assume it was an off night or something but: I ordered the gnocchi dish which looked nice when it arrived. Then I tried to eat it. Someone forgot to cook my entrée! I was served lumps of raw dough, which was a shame, because the tomato sauce had a decent flavor. But I couldn’t eat those lumps of glue like consistency they had served me. My girlfriend ordered the branzino dish which was okay. Rather small portion but who cares if it tastes good. Unfortunately the fish was served in what seemed like a pot of boiling cauliflower and capers(the chef forgot to strain out the water before serving). No joke, there was a good half inch of water on the bottom of the bowl it was served in. Not broth, not a sauce of some kind. Water. However, my cocktail was very nice and the waitress, although hard to get a hold of while she seemingly took care of every table in the dining room by herself, was for the most part friendly and attentive as possible. So they a bonus star for that. While the drink was good and it was nice they comped what little food we ate without us having to really say anything; when I go out for dinner, I’m looking to eat food. Being hungry after dinner is a bad sign…

Delightful neighborhood find. The ambiance was cozy, service welcoming, and Belgian waffle delicious. Will certainly be returning to try dinner!

Came here for dinner date on a Friday night and it was the perfect ambience. Perhaps it was just a good day but i felt like I was getting special treatment. Great service and the grilled octopus bolognese is a sure hit, perfectly paired with a glass of barolo. Will definitely be coming back again!

I like a restaurant when they cares about what I think of the food. My friend ordered stake salad and it came out medium well done when we ordered medium rare. We had no trouble getting a new one with medium rare. It was tasty, and service was great. I have to say, my dish was the best out of 4 dishes. Burger, stake salad, and one of the sandwich was ordered by my group. I ordered lasagna and it was THEBESR order. It just melted in my mouth. Tip: call or make a reservation and enjoy patio! It’s small and little patio, good for groups of 4.

I just love this place. I don’t usually write reviews but I make exceptions for Cibo. The service is great, I have a feeling that Cibo is my family, they are always welcoming and nice and always in a good mood. They recently changed the desserts so I have new favorite one — Lemon Tart, it’s really good!!! :)

Service was really lacking and so was the food. The only good thing about this place is the décor.

What an awful experience. We just moved in across the street and so wanted to make this place our go to restaurant. No way! We ordered the pasta special described in detail by the waiter having pesto sauce with white wine. Sounded great. But after a half hour wait we got pasta with tomato sauce. When we said this wasn’t what we ordered the waiter said«well we ran out of the pesto»! Huh?!? To make matters worse he didn’t even seem to care. So we paid for our salad(btw no offer to comp us) and on the way out he made a flip and snide remark. WOW! We were in shock. So we’ll be going up a couple of blocks to Gennaro’s for great Italian food and wonderful service.

Before I start I just want to note that I did not dine at this restaurant, I got delivery. I ordered the roasted heirloom beets dinner salad and added chicken. While it was very good, I wasn’t too impressed with the size of the salad or the ratio of greens to chicken. For a $ 14 salad, you would expect a dinner sized portion but instead it was closer to a side salad, with very little greens. Next time I’ll opt out of a salad and try one of their pastas or other main courses instead.

Compared to other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, Cibo has better food. I’m not blown away by it, but at least it was decent. I ordered the Tagliatelle all a Bolognese(traditional Italian Ragù with meat sauce) and my companion ordered the lasagna. My pasta was well cooked and the meat sauce was delicious and there was enough of it. Dessert was ok, we had the apple streudel with vanilla ice cream. Wine was decent, not a lot of choices by the glass. The food menu was also limited, not a lot to choose from. Service was a bit slow, but I think they have a more relaxed vibe here. The interior and exterior of this place is adorable. Romantic and charming. Great for a date.

Just went in to grab some wine while we waited to check in at our AirBnB. Service was friendly and quick, ambiance was great and the wine was delicious! We didn’t order any food but they brought out some bread and olive oil. They really couldn’t have been nicer!

Adorable!!! The atmosphere here is just amazing! It’s cute, little and very NYC. The service was great! I enjoyed a BIG glass of wine(great price, 10 $) and pene vodka which was delicious. The portion was a great size, I had plenty to take for lunch the next day!

I came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner with my roommates. The space is tiny but very cozy — it feels like something straight out of Italy. There was only one free table, which I thought was impressive for a random weeknight. I’m assuming this is a go-to neighborhood spot. The food was awesome, I had the pasta special(spaghetti, alfredo sauce and mixed mushrooms). It was delicious. Wine was a little pricy, no options under $ 10 a glass. Loved this place though! Highly recommend for an authentic Italian meal and feel!

Perfect. The juice was fresh squeezed. The belgium waffle was crisp on the outside with a soft warm inside. When paired with the fresh sliced fruit and vermont maple syrup I literally entered into«food-pouria» Definitely will have breakfast here again.

We showed up on a Tuesday for dinner and didn’t have reservations. The staff was great at welcoming us to the bar and putting us on the list. They said a 20 minute wait. Around 45 minutes I started to get a little antsy about whether we should find another place to eat. The staff was great letting us know that a table would be coming up and we would be next. The table took longer than expected to open so they bought my party of four a round of drink. The staff was great at keeping us informed and making us feel welcomed. We were not in a rush so we enjoy the chill atmosphere. When we finally were seated the staff apologized for the wait and thanked us for staying. The food was AMAZING!!! We got the fried burrata, butter nut squash ravioli, spinach ravioli, clams and linguine and a seafood pasta. My meal was the butter but squash ravioli. The pasta on the ravioli was so thin you could see the filling. Each ravioli had a ton of filling that was super creamy. Overall, it was the best pasta I’ve ever had in NYC. To finish off the night the staff bought us two desserts for the table, a tiramisu and chocolate cake thing. Basically, heaven! The staff made the night for my party. I was in town from Washington state visiting my friends who were celebrating their first«adult night» out since having a baby. What a great Resturant and people. Thanks!!!

I had a bad feeling when we started with the lobster bisque and it didn’t have any of the richness and creaminess of usual lobster bisque. Also, there were no real pieces of lobster in it. Hmm, we’ll see how the rest of this meal goes. Spoiler alert, not good. The ladies both had the bolognese(almost as basic italian as you can get) and were not impressed. It was just kind of fine, nothing special, no depth of flavor. For a $ 18 lunch portion they expected better. For me, I had the tagliolini neri, black pasta with calamari and shrimp. Shrimp were overcooked, and the pasta didn’t have much flavor. I had to drop a parmesan bomb on it to make it taste anything worth eating. We simply were not impressed with the experience or food we had.

I came here for lunch and sat outside. Inside the atmosphere is very cool. Outside the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. The service was pretty good. I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered the horseradish crusted salmon over spinach in a carrot orange sauce. The sauce was so light and fresh! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the horseradish crust was delicious. The spinach was full portioned. It tasted healthy but scrumptious. Very good. I tasted my boyfriends dish which was lamb ravioli. Not too shabby! They have homemade pastas. We shared some wine too. They have a great selection. Not too much beer offerings though — just a few typical Italian ones. I like how this restaurant is true Italian but with a slight modern touch.
