I visit here at least once or twice during the week for lunch since it’s close to my office and is what my review is based on. Food: I don’t like eating salads but the Chop’t Hot-Top salads make having to eat a salad much more appealing because the salad’s primary ingredients are heated and make the meal much more satisfying. My favorite is the Chicken Tinga which is a base of Kale/Spinach and sprinkle of purple cabbage with scallions, avocado, black beans, quinoa/brown rice(your choice) and hot shredded chicken. It’s super tasty and filling! I usually go with the Spa Tex Mex dressing that’s got a little bit of a spicy kick to it but also enjoy the recommended Mexican Goddess dressing(citrusy vinaigrette flavor) with the Chicken Tinga. I’ve gotten the Steakhouse salad before but was not a fan because the steak that comes with it is really just overcooked thinly sliced pieces of cold beef and no flavor. You can’t really go wrong with the make-your-own salads as Chop’t has just about any ingredient you could think of to add to your salad. Prices: My only gripe with this place is how expensive its salads are. The Chicken Tinga I usually get costs ~$ 11 and other salads there, especially with a make-your-own, will cost upwards of $ 10+. There are other Midtown salad spots that I’m sure you could get the same sized salad if not larger for a lower price. Line/Wait Time: This place gets crazy packed with the line snaking out the back door in the middle of peak lunch time(12PM — 1:30PM). However, the workers are pretty fast and efficient. There are four sections in total: two sections of usually 2 – 3 people that take orders, add your salad base and toppings; another two sections where they«chop» your salad up and add dressing. There are only 3 cashiers so lines do cue up for a bit when you’re waiting to pay. Chop’t isn’t necessarily the best bang for your buck but if you’re like me who likes salads with hot toppings, I go to Chop’t to get my Hot-Top fix!

The salads here are good. The ingredients are usually fresh. The lines are very long during lunch and the salad pricing if you order a la cart is very expensive. I’m still trying to figure out how they get away for charging $ 7.50 for the lettuce PLUS toppings at $ 1-$ 3EACH. This is quite crazy as you can easily build a $ 20 salad with some basic ingredients. Wont be going back here.

Yum! Love this place. I had the Mavericks, and it was so filling! Make sure you get some bread!

I really like Chop’t, but this location is not very good. They run out of ingredients during lunch hours and the hot chicken for the hot salads is sometimes cold. They also have smaller portion sizes than the location on 56th and 7th.

Big bug in my salad. Showed it to the manager who acknowledged it. Don’t pay $ 10 to eat bugs, not to mention the potential health issues.

Decided to order delivery one evening and for three people including tax and tip, it was about $ 50. My salad wound up being the most expensive(unsurprisingly). $ 15, yikes. The build your own system is very simple, but it REALLY adds up in the end. I got a mesclun and spinach salad with beets, rainbow carrots, avocado and steak. This also included the seasonal lemon-kale pesto dressing. Took a solid hour or so to arrive and by that time I was absolutely FAMISHED, so once I got my container I immediately began digging into it. Portion-wise it was fine, and did wind up satisfying my hunger, but was it worth $ 15? No way. My add-ons were practically nonexistent. Initially I even thought that they had forgotten to include avocado since there was barely any in the bowl. The carrots were dried out and few in number, more white than«rainbow». The pesto was easily the best part of the salad but for some reason it was extremely thick, so I couldn’t spread it evenly among my greens. The entire salad as a whole wound up tasting pretty bland. The main vegetables, spinach and mesclun, were fairly wilted. I think considering it was an hour or so before they closed we wound up getting their end-of-the-day veggies. I also tasted my boyfriend’s mexican caesar salad with chicken. That thing was actually kind of spicy. Too spicy in fact. Couldn’t taste anything except fire on my tongue. It was a healthy meal that I had no huge qualms with, but I can’t justify that price. Especially when I can get similar salads from Green Symphony($ 11) and Maoz Falafel & Grill($ 12) that are even larger and actually have some flavor.

Salad is ok if a bit overpriced. People working nearby know chopt. But long lines lead to wanting to submit pickup orders except that they are often done wrong. I’m on my 3rd messed up order in the last 3. Not good.

This place is disgusting, I found 2 worms in my salad, I gently brought it to the attention of the worker who served it, he pointed me to a woman who spoke little english, she was manager cashier. she then cursed about me in spanish to her entire staff, which I understood, and then told me that i’d have to buy another one, as I had no proof that the worms were the fault of her staff. Awful.

I’m so upset. I just go my palm beach salad with no avocado(comes on it) or shrimp(which I paid extra for). I’m literally eating lettuce, tomato and hearts of palm. I love chop’t too… :(

So the price is pretty steep for a salad but unlike other places they make their own fresh dressings which is why I keep on coming back, best dressing ever is Mexican goddess!

I am glad that this place exists. It is good to have salad options around the city. The flavors here are consistent and like the name says, everything is chopped, making every bite super flavorful.

Chop’t is my favorite salad place. As its name implies, the salads are chopped which makes everything crunchy. Do not get deterred by a long line. It moves very quickly. The only drawback is that the salads are very expensive. I highly recommend the yogurt dressing, which is low on calories but high on taste. For my list of great lunch spots in New York, please see

The first couple of times the multiple lines and having to shift from the order line to the dressing line to the payment line can be annoying… but you get use dot it. Avoid 12−1pm if possible. it’s packed. Great for a healthy and fairly decent tasting lunch. My fave is the Mexicali with the Goddess dressing(no oil or mayo. just avocados, lime, cilantro and jalapeño)

I don’t mind paying more for food if I feel like the ingredients are fresh and of higher quality. Chop’t doesn’t really meet these standards and while it might be because of the location, I expect way more from a place that so many people frequent. Oftentimes I’ve found wilted or browning lettuce. They are not good with customization(i.e. I ordered one of their specialty salads but asked if they could substitute one thing for another which they agreed to, but not only did they end up not including the substitution, they also left out another item that should have been included in the salad…(I am not as picky as this makes me sound!)) and even the simplest additions end up make my salads absurdly expensive. I do like the bread that they give, but for a salad, I would much rather Duke’s or Fresh & Co.

This location is chaotic. There are 3 lines — ordering, chopping, and paying. You also have to yell your order if you expect anyone to hear it. But I love Chop’t, so I will download the app and move on with my day.

There’s only one speed here…“rushed.” I respect the fact that I work in Midtown, and rolling into this place between 12 and 1pm is going to equate to long lines and a hectic scene. So, my move is to come here early to avoid the crowds. Even with only a handful of customers in the store, you are getting rushed through this place. My visit yesterday may be my last. Was here at 11am with a co-worker. After watching him have such difficulty ordering because everything had an extra charge, I decided I didn’t feel like dealing with that dance so I ordered the basic Cobb on their menu. No dairy for me these days, so I substituted cukes for cheese. First of all, the woman put other veggies in my salad which weren’t listed as ingredients on the menu. No biggie for me because I liked the unexpected additions, but forget it if you have an allergy or distaste for anything. Once the salad was complete, the woman rushed me down to the other end of the counter for some unknown reason. Seemed like the line was longer. In doing this, I inadvertently«cut» a few other customers in line. The guy chopping salads in this spot was equally confused. It must have thrown him of his game. He was trying to get me out so quickly that twice he almost put the wrong dressing on my salad, and then kept trying to put bread in the container even after I said no to bread twice. Checking out was no problem, but I was exhausted from my time here. Once back to my office, I noticed that the salad barely had any ingredients and the greens were a bit wilted. Definitely not crisp/fresh Romaine. There was hardly any chicken and the«bacon» were charred bits that seemed reminded me of Bacos. Given the whole process at this place(add in the pricing), I don’t think I can justify coming back here for a so-so salad.

I was there in the evening; no lines. The Mexicali Vegan Salad was awesome! Hardest part was to find this place. Unilocal says it’s between 8th and Broadway. The map shows it between Broadway and 7th. The real location is between 7th and 6th.

$ 12 salad with avocado, kobocha squash, no meat. 20% seamless discount, so I figured I’d give it a try. The salad had a pre-made taste to it, ingredients were not mixed in together, avocado lumped in like a last minute addition(which it probably was). If this is what an online order is like, then I understand why people wait in that crazy line to order on the spot. ALSO — there was a hard piece of green plastic in my salad. Not quite the nutritional boost I was looking for. Back to Dig Inn for me!
