Unlimited free toppings on your salad. Do you really need more convincing than that? Yes, not everything is free. For instance, adding a hard-​boiled egg costs $.75. But even the chicken is free (and they have like 3 different options). Surprisingly, they have a very extensive salad bar as well as a ton of dressings, so you could probably go a whole year without repeating the same salad. They have two sizes. The large is deceptively large, so go for the smaller one if you don’t want to negate the health benefits of eating a salad.
They also have a full hot station with things like rotisserie chicken. Also have a ton of sandwich options available, though I haven’t done that yet. In due time.
Prices are great, staff is friendly, and they take credit cards. Perfect place to pick up lunch.

I found my lunch place! They have a salad bar, variety of breakfast food and a ton of sandwiches. The best part is, a sandwich or salad comes out to about $ 6.50! Can’t beat that in this area. I am happy I found this place because I can get a filling lunch without spending too much.

Great local spot for sandwiches. I used to go here for lunch while working in the area, and it was a favorite of many of my coworkers. It’s definitely worth a visit and could be your go-​to lunch spot!

If you’re looking for a delicious, cheap lunch and are in the area I can’t see a scenario where it wouldn’t be a good idea to. The salads are $ 6.50 and delicious!

Best value for money in flatiron. Don’t let the price tag fool you though, it’s really good food, quick, and hits the spot.

I’ve only been in NY for two weeks or so, but I’ve already been here several times for lunch because if something is this good and this inexpensive, why go anywhere else??? The sandwiches are all really good and balanced in terms of meat to veggie to bread ratios. The salads are, like others have said, the best deal. The staff is super friendly and always smiling. The store also has a bunch of other stuff like drinks, soup, chopped fruit in containers, fried stuff, and even noodles if you want something other than sandwiches/​salad.

After switching jobs and working in mid-​town the first thing I had to do was find a smaller deli with great food for a decent price. I was able to locate the Chicken Deli on 28^th and haven’t looked back. At first I got their wraps which were reasonably prices at around $ 6.95 (much better than the $ 9+ wraps in this area).
But by far the best deal in this joint is the small salad with your choice of 1 meat and unlimited toppings for $ 5.95 ($ 6.50 w/​tax). They have a large options but I doubt most of you will need all that.
Staff is friendly, responsive and work quickly. Best of all they don’t give you a death stare if you ask for more of an ingredient (odd I know).

The sandwiches, subs, and wraps here are amazing, and there is a huge selection for a really low price.
I am in the area for a 3-​month stint, and I’m looking forward to trying everything on their menu.

great sandwiches for a reasonable price. The variety of sandwiches is impressive. There are only 2 small tables to sit, so have a back up in mind in case you come here wanting to sit down and eat with someone else.

Cheesy ham breakfast sandwich is a must try! Great sandwiches, great prices, and great staff. This place is a hidden gem.

Great sandwich, super cheap, and incredibly fast service. This is sandwich lunch at it’s finest.

I always see this place when I go out for lunch and never gave it a chance. Now that I have, I’m so glad that I did. The deli is narrow and deep with a bunch of different selections for lunch. You can order a freshly made sandwich, a freshly tossed salad, or some sushi (not sure how fresh this is).
I ordered a pesto chicken with mozerella and sun dried tomatoes on a hero and it was delicious. The pesto chicken was a tad dry but still really good with melted mozerella. I will try the salad next time I come round here for lunch.

So glad I finally tried this place! I was looking for a place to get a good sub and decided to give it a shot. HUGE turkey sub for $ 5.95. I’m sure the same sandwich would have been $ 8+ at Essen. All the ingredients were really fresh and they were not stingy with the meat! You can tell the meat and cheese is fresh sliced there (I believe they use Boar’s Head), and it hasn’t been sitting in a packet for ages like subway. The only thing they messed up is that they forgot my pickles. That’s okay though, it was still a great sandwich!
I noticed they have a salad bar that looks good and fresh too! Unlimited toppings for a pretty good price.
I’ll definitely be back!

Chicken Deli, you have probably the least creative name I could think of, but your food makes up for it. I’ve had the BBQ Chicken, Cajun Chicken and Chicken Salad sandwiches and all were awesome! Cajun being my favorite.
Don’t like one of the 100 pictures of sandwiches on the wall, no problem, make your own! They have everything. And it’s pretty cheap too.

Great selection. Interesting sandwiches you won’t find everywhere. Cheaper than most lunch spots in this expensive neighborhood. I come often.

This place is my «go to» for a sandwich outside the office. Great selection, never too crowded during peak lunch hours. California club is my favorite.

I went to their location on 28^th and told them in person about my Seamless delivery issue– wrong panini order, cold and soggy fries– and they seemed so apologetic and insisted that I order anything, on the house!

The wraps here are great. The selection of food is satisfying. But the best thing about this place are the friendly staff members. They are always happy to help, happy to customize, and happy to serve. You can tell they enjoy working with each other and at the deli, which makes me believe that the owners treat their staff well and that means a lot to me.
When I have to choose between delis in the area, I always go to Chicken Deli. Best option in the area.

I hate Bread and Butter, it’s too busy, the food is average, and the prices are a bit high. Enter Chicken Deli.
When you walk into Chicken Deli you don’t feel overwhelmed and everyone behind the counters from the cooks to the cashier in a friendly manner. Not in an overly annoying, over the top fashion that you would get at Press either.
There are tons of different sandwiches present and I’m still ordering different ones each time that I go and I’ve been going this entire summer. The sushi I heard is really good and they offer salads as well.
The service is quick and the price is right. They even deliver through Seamless. Hands down one of the best cheap/​quick lunch options for anyone in the Flatiron District.

I work right acress the street so I do frequent this deli frequently. Good egg white breakfast wraps, good sandwich selections for lunch, and good soups too! They even have a small sushi area and it is made fresh every day. Prices are decent. Guys who work there are pretty nice too.
