I was in New York two weeks ago. I was referred to Chessy Pizza from the Broadway Hostel. This place has a wonderful diverse menu ATVERYREASONABLE or rather INEXPENSIVEPRICES! The amount of food is more than generous. I ate their at least three times. THEFOODISBEYONDDELICIOUS!!! The Pizza is THEBEST!!! The staff is patient and helpful. The facility is CLEAN. It’s near the number 1 subway station. They are open long hours. They care about pleasing their customers, ANDTHEYACHIEVETHAT!!!

Can’t speak for the other reviews, but I haven’t had a bad experience with these guys. My pizza is always hot and the slices are always huge. They most def live up to their name because they are not stingy when it comes to the mozzerella topping. I always receive great customer service when I walk in or when I get my pizza delivered. Btw I usually get my slice during the wee hours of the morning like 2 or 3 am.

Me: I’ve got a great joke about a pizza You: What is it? Me: I can’t tell you. It’s too cheesy Although I am not a dad, I love dad jokes. Cheesy Pizza is a typical NYC pizza parlor that isn’t amazing but gets the job done. I crave the garlic and pepperoni knots(3 for $ 1.50?). Multiple toppings slides the price to the more expensive side of the pizza-by-the-slice scale($ 5-$ 6). Nonetheless, this spot is open late to assuage those late night and drunk hunger hankerings.

I came here for the first time and selected my usual two thin crust slices of spinach pizza. But lo and behold they must of been a good $ 5 each, maybe more! I don’t know how much I was charged for the bottled soda but the whole tab was $ 13+ Yet nevertheless here I sit in my car with my guts stuffed to the max. The pizza is good and filling. I should of only bought one slice as it appears that one of CheesyPizza’s slices equals two of everybody else’s. Then I would of paid the same(or a little less) as I would at other pizza parlors. So take that as a tip and the pizza itself is as good as the best of them in the take-out business.

How does a pizza shop maintain it’s location on the Upper West Side? By charging high prices. I have never bought two regular slices for $ 6.53. The slices were average, I’ve had better.

Had wrose experience there. My card was swiped twice and they refuse to correct the error right the way. Was thinking of getting a quick dinner but end up with so much problem. Not going back ever. For those who use credit card be aware of double charges.

Great slices, the cheese lives up to its name I a good way. Better pepperoni than a lot of places use – very flavorful – and the zeppolis were perfect: fresh powdered sugar and the little balls of dough are fried to a golden crisp. The place isn’t much to look at, but really tasty pie.

The worst. Seriously. I’d rather get a DC jumbo slice than this heresy they call pizza. The cheese tastes like rubber and there’s too much. On top of that, it’s too expensive for what it is. There’s no relationship between the cost of pizza and the goodness of pizza. There are tons of mediocre places to get pizza in this neighborhood. A utility slice I entirely appreciate but this doesn’t even serve that purpose well.

Decent place to get pizza. It’s open very, very late, which is always great(especially for Columbia students. They deliver late, too!). I always get cheese slices from here, or full cheese pizzas delivered to my dorm with some friends. In my opinion, Cheesy Pizza produces a very midde-quality New York slice, which is a good slice anywhere else ;) I will say that the kitchen doesn’t seem too clean, and the people that work here can be kind of rude sometimes(though I can’t really blame them; I certainly wouldn’t want to work the graveyard shift making pizza for drunk college kids). It’s a very functional pizza place that becomes your only option when you get your craving after 2 or 3AM.

I placed an order and the food never came but the restaurant still charged me. I would recommend going somewhere that doesn’t rip people off.

Passed by and had a slice of chicken pizza midday with a couple of friends of mine. Maybe it was because they overhyped it for me(they love the place so much that the owner recognized their faces), but I thought it was just okay. Good enough pizza that I’d come again if they really wanted me to, but not good enough that I’d purposely choose to go.

Every now and then I get a great chicken bacon ranch slice… But honestly I am just torn. Sometimes the pizza is amazing and the service is quick and friendly… Other times the food is cold and just not good… They can be expensive at 5 – 6 $ a slice, but they are huge. When the pizza is good, it is worth it… When it’s not cooked with care it is just not worth it at all. Proceed with caution.

I was hungry, on my way to a client, and needed a slice fast. So Cheesy Pizza, with its ample seating, was on my way. The slice was big, the sauce not memorable and slightly saltier than I preferred, the cheese ample. It was a basic NY slice, better than the $ 1 slices I avoid, and the service was gracious. I did have to ask them to heat my slice but they obliged with no hesitation. Not a place I’d seek out but not a place I’d avoid if I really needed a bite.

I came here a few years back, and some reason I had in my mind that I loved the pizza here! So, I decided to pop in here for a quick dinner and was sadly disappointed. My expectations based on past experience was not met. I ordered a slice of chicken and broccoli pizza. I waited in line to pay, and it was very disorganized. After getting a little annoyed with the preteens standing in front of me, talking about how cool American Eagle was. I decided just to sit down and pay after I got my pizza. Once I got my pizza, I was kinda shocked when they charged me $ 5… for one slice! I thought to my self – should of just ordered a whole pie from Little Caesars. Now, it was a huge slice of pizza, and I was barely able to finish it – but it was very meh. Kinda bland, not enough sauce, and still a little cold in the middle. Wouldn’t come again, and wouldn’t recommend.

Not bad but expensive compared to other options that are just as good.

I have a love-hate relationship with Cheesy Pizza. I think their pizza is great, but it’s ridiculously overpriced. On top of that, they only accept cash. They do accept cards when you order through Seamless, but the delivery minimum is $ 20! Not worth it. Although, some of their pies go well over that price, so if you’re ordering in with friends, this might be a good choice. If they accepted cards in the restaurant, or if their delivery minimum for Seamless was less, I would hit up Cheesy Pizza much more frequently.

larger than average slice much more dough present. more expensive too. not the freshest ingredients used or the most pleasant of workers met. serves its purpose when a slice of pizza is needed.

I needed something to eat quickly after walking from my apartment on the Upper West Side to 5th and 96th, walked through a museum for 3 hours, walked to the East River and later returned to my neighborhood. I’ve noticed Cheesy Pizza every time I walk by and decided to try it– especially at this famished moment. I stood there for a good 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me whatsoever. I asked if this was where I ordered and I was ignored. Oh… okay. I continued to stand there, looked around and wondered if I was crazy, continued to stand– FINALLY someone approached me. Thanks dude! I actually really liked the pizza– come on, it’s a fast pizza place– and it is indeed very cheesy. Maybe they were just busy and irritated, but this is an example of customer service dying a slow death.
