Honestly I’m glad I came in and gave this place a try, pizza was official ! The hot salad bar was very fresh and authentic. Plan on coming back with my boys!

Aside from the pretty, rustic Italian ambiance, their menu is pretty interesting and also their dessert choices. Nothihg extraordinary but worth the try.

Just because you have a captive audience does not mean you should stop caring about customer service or cleanliness. Oh, your bathroom has been out of order for years. What’s up with that?

We had the new york style cheesecake with strawberries and a cup of hot chocolate. The cheesecake was really good but we were not a fan of the strawberries. However, we have noticed that the use of strawberry jelly with the strawberries is prominent in NYC. We are used to fresh strawberries with strawberry drizzle. The hot chocolate was ok, not my favorite but not bad.

Really nice place. Usually quiet and conducive to good conversation with friends. Nice salad bar, with a small hot bar too, more than you usually find in a pizza shop. I really go for the round potato pastries… not sure what they are called, like bourekas but round with the pastry between the potato part. persoanlly I wish they had sweet potato fries, and long Belgian style fries, but the regular fries are good.

Let me begin by saying that I have no complaints about the food at this restaurant — I think the pizza is wonderful — and that I was a very satisfied customer prior to this evening. That being said, I will never again patronize Café Roma. My friend and I walked into the restaurant around 30 minutes before closing, although we did not realize it at the time. When we placed our orders to stay, we were not informed that the employees were preparing to go, which we would not have had a problem with. Instead, we were given our food and allowed to sit, all the while having the lights shut off around us and the staff drag furniture around noisily while glaring our way. Finally, one of the employees went to the door and held it open until we became so uncomfortable that we couldn’t bear to be in the restaurant a minute longer. The staff sneered at us as my friend finished her calzone on the sidewalk, plate in hand. This was all done without a word. I have worked in the service industry myself and have tremendous empathy for food workers. I also know how tempting it can be to chuck professionalism out the window after a long day at work. There is no restaurant without customers, however. Had the employees informed us politely when we placed our orders that we needed to be out by a certain time, we would have left happy customers and returned many times in the future, as we both live in the neighborhood. Instead, I’ll be telling all of my kosher-keeping friends to stay away. Appalling service.

Horrible. do NOT recommend. First didn’t send half of our order, then when we called to complain, the manager was extremely rude and not apologetic at all. The rest of the order came a fully 90 minutes after we placed the order and was inedible. Go elsewhere.

Yeah. No. Seriously, some nasty ass pizza that’s been sitting out all day. This is not the place you for a slice. And before I get slammed for suggesting that I need a whole pie, well… you can tell a lot about a pizza place by the amount of single slices it sells. Two strikes against it? 1) $ 3 for a very very mediocre slice and 2) just general nasty-ass ness about it. Here’s my credentials. I am a Jersey girl. I know good pizza. This is so far from good pizza, bad pizza is insulted by calling this bad pizza. The crust? Too doughy. It needs to be crispy yet chewy — not burned. This was just bleh doughy dough. Good cheese and sauce is supposed to be «orange» and not too heavy of either. The sauce was flavorless, and there was just way too much cheese that didn’t get nearly melted enough from sitting around all day. Oh and their salad bar? Looked like a breeding ground of bacteria. NEVER. AGAIN. Remember, pizza places, the last thing you want is for a Jersey girl to review you on Unilocal.Because Jersey girls know good pizza!

Both the old and new Café Roma locations are convenient for the Upper West Side. Generally, I prefer takeout or ordering in over eating there. I think they have the best MUSHROOM pies on the West Side. I also like their falafel. The people who work there are always friendly if you ask questions. Highly recommend the MUSHROOM pie! They stop delivery after 10 p.m.

I grew up on Café Roma pizza, the new location is cleaner, but ever since the other brother took over it hasn’t been as friendly. Sometimes the owner makes you feel like he doesn’t want you there. The pizza is decent, and the vegetable slices are overpriced. The salad bar always looks good and the hot foods are good when they are fresh. They have the kosher pizza market cornered on the upper west side, since not everyone that keeps strict kosher will eat at Viva.

Appears pretty clean. They have a hot and cold buffet/salad bar. Pizza, calozones, and the works. The service isn’t super-friendly, but that’s not the reason you go there anyway. Roma moved from 90th Street a couple of years ago. This location looks better and cleaner than the old, but it does not attract the crowds it used to because of its less-favorable current location.
