Very good cappuccino. The tiramisu is to die for. I keep coming back for it. Pretty rustic and unique décor.

Stopped here for a coffee before going to a late comedy show. Coffee was ok. But the bathroom at this restaurant was the most disgusting bathroom I have ever been in. It was worse than a porter potty…

Snow and ice all around us and here we are, in this small, delicate, and serene café. Located right off Macdougal street near NYU you can find this fantastic establishment. Originally I came here to work, however there were no functioning outlets, which was frustrating, however I stayed because of the nice staff and the beautiful, decorative ambience. Huge old paintings cover the walls, as well as several strange clocks, and statues. There is even a cleopatra head in this weird, yet comforting cubbyhole. I had a latte, which was an absolute treat on this snowy day. Lots of natural light, because of the large windows on the walls. The bathroom was small, but tidy and clean. There is even outdoor seating which would be fantastic on a nicer day. If you are looking for a great date place look no further. If you are looking to get a lot of work done I would look further.

Stopped in here for a quick coffee during snowstorm Jonas. Café is cute and has old world charm. Great selection of teas and coffee is strong. Had a granita which was nice. My friend thought the cappuccino was too strong, but I liked it. The bathroom could use a reno — looks likes something out of the Hobbit.

Nice coffee, nice pastries although too sweet for my liking so I always order sfogliatella. I like the ambience, you can come by yourself and sit there and not feeling awkward at all. Love the European feels of the café, especially when I miss the Netherlands. It opens long hours too, so it is a good place to hang out late at night. The only thing that refrains me from giving 5 stars is the fact that service can be quite slow.

Not going well… Warm ice coffee, had to ask for ice so it would be ice Café Americano. Now this was after 10 minutes of waiting that I finally got my order in… Got my warm ice coffee and a glass of ice… now the wait is on for my tart … Got it! Nope she put it back in the case WTF? Looking around to see if someone else got it??? Wait mine was being microwaved… ECK! Coffee was very good, tart was okay just bring patience and a sense of humour. On my return trip I tried Romagna down the block on Bleeker … Better service and awesome coffee.

Don’t listen to the bad service complaints. Life is not always about service. Allow me to elaborate; Peter Luger is arguably the best steak in the world(at Zagat thinks so) and they arguably have the worst service in the world. Do we care? Of course not, because we are there to carnivorize on and inspired flank. the afformentioned logic applies to this café. It may take the Waiter a few extra minutes to write down how you’d like your poached eggs cooked, but ultimately the food, history, and atmosphere are phenomenal. Cheers

Very nice vibe… Great hazelnut cappuccino. Very old and lovely European old café atmosphere… We stopped by after a tour of the Greenwich village on a rainy December afternoon.

We happened upon this place after a quick jaunt through the Washington Square park. This place is tiny with little chairs and tables, but it is cozy and clean. The cappuccino was delicious, however I am not a coffee connoisseur. Great place to sit and relax after a walk, we scored a window seat to people stare through!

Spotted this little gem in book CITIx60, while too exploring the Washington Square Park. As soon as I saw the green on MacDougal street, I knew that was the place– love the color green! Not use to seeing places like this in Miami, so I as immediately drawn and amazed how the place looked like inside. It definitely had a feel of a library back in the early 1900s with all the renaissance style artworks, wood linings on the wall seats, and ceiling tile details throughout the place. Small but good spot for either a mini get together with a friend or just for solo peeps wanting to catch up on some reading. I visited the location during breakfast time, my favorite time for food, so definitely I recommend any item with eggs or croissant for eatings, with a side of their cappuccino– the capo definitely was delicious but be prepared for it since it is served in a large cup.

I’m italian so I should know what kind of italian coffee it’s good. For real, this wasn’t the best, only not bad. The place is small and crowded and in my opinion not so clean. My friend took a cappuccino and she said that wasn’t bad, she didn’t like the cinnamon on it. The thing that i loved the most was the fact that they have a lot of Italian renaissance style painting on the wall.

CASHONLY. There is no sign, they will get mad. Also, this place is STUPIDLY small and the waitress station is at the ordering station LOL. So while you’re ordering there is someone there with a tray trying to order as well. Also, the coffee was about $ 5 and it was HORRIBLE. The only words I can use to describe it was chalky and rancid.

I am disgusted by this place. I walked in and asked for a vanilla skim latte. After having to repeat my order 4 times, I watched the barista make my drink. He poured the soured espresso overfill container into my drink, giving it a disgustingly bad taste. Also didn’t spit vanilla in to it. This is after being knocked around and hit in the face with menus by the server reaching around me. Seriously angry about the service and intent illy disgusting latte that was made for me. Do not go here.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years! This is the place where I’ve had some of the very first café lattes, and ever since, I’ve been coming back for their coffee and beautiful century old setting. Very pretty terrace on a wonderful street. I tried their cheese platter with honey and walnuts, good but nothing special. This is a great place to stay warm in winter, just stay away from their doors… what’s up with New Yorkers? I think their all in denial about how cold it is here in the middle of winter… no one has double doors!?! Always great to come back here, nothing changes, nothing should. Oh yeah, this place wins for the crampiest washroom I have ever been in, other than in an airplane! Last visit was in February 2015.

Love this adorable little café. It’s in a great neighborhood with plenty to do. The interior is super cute and cozy. I would love to return one day alone to read or get some work done. Ordered an egg and cheese croissant and it was so good! Coffee was great. My daughter hated the chocolate milk they made her but big whoop. Def plan to return.
