The food’s fine — but the service is really bad. The guys behind the grill are about as unfriendly as you can get, and the cashiers are usually detached at best. You have to basically scream at them to get their attention, so with so many other breakfast options on the block, why would anyone choose to start their morning /lunch hour that way?

Have to update my review because this place just lost my business for good. The last four times I came here, I placed my order only to get back to my office to see that they got it wrong. Not once was the place soooo busy that it was possible that they made a mistake, FOUR times. All four times, i was either the only person on line or one of two or three on line. Still they slop the sandwich together at lighting speed for no reason and the sandwich ends up a mess and not the way you ordered it. See ya!

The cashier(Asian middle aged man, seems like the owner) is such a fucking asshole. Just generally has a shitty attitude — I asked him nicely to break a 20, and he’s just like«no» and looks back down at his phone. When I ask why, he says, «why? Because I don’t have $ 10 bills» and gives me this retarded face. Fuck you dude. Don’t buy anything here because assholes shouldn’t be supported.

decent place to grab a quick bite. good buffet selection and the food tasted pretty fresh overall, except for eggrolls that seemed like they had been sitting around a while.

A coworker found a roach in their salad; not a pre-made one, but one that they prepare in front of you. When they went back to inform the establishment, the people at the store were not apologetic or surprised. Avoid at all costs.

Knowing how popular Café del Sol(CDS) is, I feel the need to report a disgusting experience with this restaurant. As background: I have gone to Café del Sol many, many times. It is across the street from my job and has always been a decent option for salad and even ramen. That has changed. Last week, I ordered a salad from the salad bar. Upon eating it, I discovered a cockroach in it! I immediately addressed the issue by walking to CDS and demanding a refund. They were not surprised… beware folks! They also use poison on the roaches so there is a health risk here, not just extra crunch. I guess B ratings are to be taken seriously.

Quick and food was pretty good. It was a bit pricy but there was a wide variety and selection

I came in here on my last day in NYC to grab an authentic NY bagel. I didn’t have time to go to a bagel shop so I figured that this would be the next best thing. Luckily, they serve H&H bagels which I have seen around town so I would hope they are authentic. I asked for an everything bagel toasted with lox spread and it was made fast and on the spot. Just like a NY bagel is was crunchy on the outside and nice and pillowy on the inside with just the right amount of chew! The price was super reasonable too! Another big plus is that the pick up spot to my NY-DC bus(Washington Deluxe) is right around the corner, how convenient! :)

Ive been here twice because my office is next door. First time was ok. Second time I got really sick. Really sick. The food tasted a bit spoiled but I thought it was the dressing was sour. And it was extremely overlooked. Just really nasty.

They have a whole lot of everything and I can see how this would be a good stop for a group with lots of different tastes. However, they’re consistently unfriendly. For a place that thrives on regulars, they don’t do much to keep them. Why is it so hard to hand up/put down the phone while helping customers? Also, a $ 10 min for cards in a business neighborhood like this is absurd. Perhaps their buffet is super overpriced so it works but it sure didn’t work for me!

Great for breakfast the muffins are fresh every morning. And they have a great selection of breakfast items both hot and cold. The lunch not so much it’s nice but a bit over priced the guy down the block is cheaper and has the same food.

Well i guess i take the cherry on this one! Last Sunday the 28th Dec 2014, my brother, visiting mom, two sisters and i were coming from a long one day trip NY/DC by bus as we found out a friend’ sister suddenly passed away. We were exhausted, arriving to NY a bit after midnight, my older sister felt dizzy in the bus as she didnt eat much on that day. The bus arrived by café del sol, and my brother rushed in to buy her something, we all went inside. The sandwiches looked not fresh at all, so my bro told my sisters not to take any, just a banana till we get home. Behind me, one of the staff was trying to pass through with a dolly, i saw that and apologized, no problem. Then my sis told me mom needed to use the restrooms, as i ask the staff if the restrooms are open, the main guy interrupted me yelling, «move from there, there’s a guy trying to work!». The guy wasnt even in the room at that point, so my bro calmly told him at least he could say please,(we do not swear in my family and we get along with everyone), the guy started to insult my brother, and scream for us to get f out of here, my bro said let just leave and not buy anything here. I never get upset, but he was insulting my 2 sis and mom, i was furious but only told him there was no reason for him to be like that, he went on telling us to get the f out, kept repeating it! We did, but i did take an orange on my way out and almost threw it at him, he came storming toward me as if the old man could take me, stood my ground and thought this guy isnt worth our time nor responding, so we left. We’re all educated black folks, there was a white couple as well, he didnt say anything to them. So i will never play the race card, but i leave you the judge of all this! I never place such review but this should be known. I dont mind if its me but it breaks my heart when you go on disrespect my family out of nowhere, for no reason, my family is an example of kindness. we’ve never experienced such a thing. I’m now looking at ways to place a complaint about it. Its the principle, you open such a place it is your duty to do your best to be nice and courteous to others. And frankly i wished i’d recorded it and uploaded it to youtube, so that people can witness the darkness some people walk with. Its important to show people can hate you for no reason. I actually feel sorry for him.

This place is good for a quick meal in midtown. They have a wide selection, including a hot/cold bar, salads, soups, sandwiches, ramen, and miscellaneous«Asian» cuisine. The prices are reasonable for the area — around $ 7 for a filling meal. The food itself isn’t anything special, but you probably aren’t at a deli like this for great food. Service is quick to order and pay. The second floor is a clean, modern area with spacious seating and a nice, open view thanks to large windows. Came on a weekday around 1pm and it wasn’t very crowded — walked in, ordered, and grabbed a table.

What a rip-off. Their buffet bar is way overpriced. Everything is super greasy, too. Today, 3 wedges of pineapple and 1 cube of watermelon cost me $ 5.22. That’s insane. A whole pineapple does not cost $ 5.22!!!

This place replaced the previous deli– Alpine. What a pleasant surprise. It has become the go to place for most people in my office. Clean space with a LOT of variety. Tossed salads, Noodle soups to order(Like udon, etc) deli sandwiches and a really great hot/cold bar. The hot/cold bar is also always changing. They really try to give you a nice variety everyday. They only have it about twice a week, but get the Kale and Beet salad at the salad bar. I didn’t even like kale before I started eating this salad. Can’t get enough of it now.

This is like a vegetarian’s dream. Hot and cold salad bar — really good — really fresh. I got tofu with housemade sauce, cooked broccoli, delicious rice pilaf and cous cous with mixed veggies. Everything was delicious. It was $ 7.99/lb which beats a lot of places in Midtown.
