Old school Soho lounge/café with some really tasty wheat free goodies.

I’m so sad to hear they are moving! Café Café has become my «go to» for dirty chais, salads, fresh juice and great croissants. They have vegan treats, too.

The coffee kind of sucks, but they do have really good treats — Balthazar baked goods, and smoothies pretty good(almond milk option, etc). The staff overall is very friendly and nice, other than the guy who runs the cash register, he looks miserable every morning, smile guy! But the location is perfect. And they have cute seating upstairs too. If you want good coffee, go to Ground Support on West Broadway and Spring!

Gluten free muffins. That’s all I’ve eaten here. But let it be noted that they are available.

Perhaps the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. And I consider myself a connoisseur. Everything else was average. but the cookie brought me back three days in a row.

After sampling many of the nearby options, I must update my review on a place that has now become part of my daily routine. Oh Café Café– you are my one and only spot for lunch. I don’t care that the sandwiches cost $ 9… I would give an arm for the Chicken Milanesa & Avocado Panini(fried thin and crispy). And, it’s more than the food, I love the set up and atmosphere of this place. Plus, now that I’ve become a regular, I notice the other characters that call this place home… The two elderly men who sit on the bench out front in the morning above a smush of an old french bulldog that hazily listens to their conversation… Or the man who comes in every morning with a long-haired chihuahua and a coon hound that sets its nose on the front counter while he orders his coffee… come to think of it, this place is very DOGFRIENDLY. I just love the convenient set up and fast service. I work in SoHo half the week and I come here both before work and for my lunch break. It is the perfect spot to relax and read. If only they had Wifi!

I don’t care if it’s located in Soho and one of the few non-table service places. $ 6.45 for a small smoothie is INSANE. The line for the bathroom was also incredibly long.

In the passage of my travels with time to spare, I needed cheap substance. The server was polite and cordial but the cashier weigh down my viewpoint for this review. For one apple crumb muffin at $ 2.75 and small hot Green Tea at $ 1.75 it was surely not work the visit, amid it greatly works within my strict budget. The cashier was either deaf or have extremely poor communication skills as I specifically requested for a sales receipt THREE times. Was it so very difficult to produce one to a patron? Ultimately the final result was with a rude scowl look with a heavy sigh muttered«yeah, you got your receipt OKAY!» Seating is ample as there is also an upper level. Line is utter chaos as many patrons are selective curating with great indecisiveness. This incompetent cashier does not maintain order for a line as he rings any patron in his line of sight. Ergo, I was dismissively cut off from my placement for payment. Teas are only available hot, no ice tea. Many patrons appear tourists drawn to the SoHo area. Atmospheric conditions are a café but not of a cookie cutter franchise café but appear more of a local community café. One facility is available on premises and is relatively clean. No rubbish bin is visible in plain sight as per Café Café’s staff, patrons are to leave their unwanted items as is.

After a few visits here, I might not be back. The menu is extensive, but overwhelming. It’s hard to tell who’s in line and who’s gawking at the disgusting number of choices. The best part about this place is the upstairs section, which is quiet and has a great view of the street. The storefront is glass, which classes things up and lets in a ton of natural light. Snazzy ambiance. Sadly, the staff does not seem knowledgable about coffee. I asked them to froth my latte and they had no idea what I was talking about. Instead, they put hot milk foam on top of an iced drink, and failed to mix the espresso and milk. It was more like a macchiato…

I unexpectedly ended up at Café Café once a friend was hungry for lunch. We had been on our way to the Leslie Lohmann Museum at the time, and Café Café was very close by and inexpensive(for SoHo). The interior isn’t much, but I really liked the renovated warehouse loft vibe. There was a cool, skinny iron bar set up along the balcony on the second floor seating area, so we claimed a couple of stools there and people-watched from above. The really *unfathomable* surprise– for me, at least– was when I discovered that they carried an entire array of gluten-free dessert options. Everything from gluten-free apple ginger muffins to brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and double chocolate cookies. I was thrilled. I hadn’t been able to eat dessert at a café in three weeks. I got a small coffee(very cheap but very good coffee) and one of the double chocolate cookies. It made me really, really happy. My friend got the quiche-of-the-day and salad combo, and he enjoyed it, though it was a bit pricey. I don’t often find myself in that neighborhood, but I’ll definitely stop back in for a snack whenever I do.

This place is fine, a general go-to for both breakfast and lunch if you’re working in the area. They have a pretty good lineup of pastries — croissants from both Balthazar and Ceci Cela(get the latter, soo much better! even though both are in the area if you have time to walk over 5 blocks to Nolita), a selection of at least five or six different muffins each day, some gluten free options. Omelettes, bagels, pancakes, french toast, an overpriced fruit cup, and yogurt parfait. Actually, generally everything here seems to be about $ 1 – 2 more than you would have liked to pay… but not enough to make you find someplace else when you’re on the go. For lunch, a bunch of different sandwiches, salads made to order, and soup options. My only problem is that the people who work behind the counter are very serious… all business and no pleasant-ness. I guess thats what you have to do to manage the SoHo morning and afternoon rushes, but give me a little smile and I won’t be as mad I just paid $ 6 for two grapes and three pieces of cantaloupe, just to hit the $ 10 credit card minimum.

Got to work way too early, and since I didn’t have breakfast yet, I decided to stop by Café Café to grab some breakfast. There wasn’t much to choose from from the breakfast menu… mushroom omelet with toast and coleslaw sounded good. so I went with that. For $ 10, my omelet was done so poorly that it ruined my whole morning. The omelet looked like something that I can make at home and tasted average! The toast was not the regular toast that you get from diners; it was the type that I hated the most of! It’s the ones that’s super healthy with the sunflower seeds and I just hate itttt… argh…anywho the coleslaw was pretty good according to my manager, since I didn’t want to eat it, I gave it to her instead… I am definitely not coming back here again for their mediocre expensive food.

On a random search for cafes in soho, this one popped up on Unilocal.I hadn’t been so I went in search. It’s not actully on Broome though the address is. It’s on Greene street so look for the entrance there. The place is completely overrun by european tourists, so for people watching, it can be fun. That said I wouldn’t touch the coffee if I were you. I had a tomato + mozzarella soppressata which was tasty, albeit $ 10. Haha I also like how there’s an upper level. Makes you feel like you’re climbing up to a treehouse.

This place has one of the best quiches I’ve ever had. The salmon, tomato blend made me want to bring my aunt back to life so I can slap her for making it wrong all those years! We not only had 2 pieces of the quiche in the store but we bought a whole pie to go home with for Sunday. But who are we kidding, it was Saturday and we ate all of it in the taxi on the way back to the house. The green tea is soothing, the ambience is amusing only because I enjoy watching homeless people fight over a shared crack pipe but I can do without the iPhone charger plugs in almost every outlet. We would have gone back for more had we not napped off our quiche coma on the subway and ended up in Brooklyn.

I really like this place. They have small upstairs that you can sit down and eat… You can watch people buying as well. I love their panini. My favorite is the fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil panini… so good… also their chai tea is the best. much better than starbucks’ Their salad is also decent. Not big. but fresh. Oh, I love their fresh carrot juice too. They have large dessert assortments. Velvet cupcake is good… and haven’t try others. Only thing is that their price are decent, but not cheap. One panini is around $ 10, small carrot juice is $ 4.chai tea is also $ 4 something. so end up $ 20 bucks for lunch in a small café/deli. not bad.

Time outs aren’t just for naughty children anymore. Nor are they only for losing basketball teams, desperately trying to stall the inevitable in the fourth quarter. While I’ll take a time-out after running a mile or two, there’s one sport that I’ll compete in until I nearly drop dead: shopping. This is where Café Café comes into the game. It’s at the epicenter of that vile temptress SoHo with all her materialistic and sinful wiles. But if SoHo is like the sirens in the odyssey of shopping, Café Café is Ithaca. Safe, warm, and homey. I crawled in after a long day of elbowing, deliberating, and fawning, otherwise known as a shopping day in NYC. It’s small and rustic with tiny wooden tables, mostly for two, so one for me and one chair for my bags. The double espresso was excellently pulled, and the freshly squeezed oj stabilized my sugars so I was ready to get back in the game after my much needed time out. I liked the small loft area and if I had more time, I would have found it a nice place to read an epic poem or have an epic conversation with a dear friend. Café Café, thank you for being my steroid in my quest to be MVP in my favorite sport.

I loved this place — the warmth inside, the ambiance, the large selection of cookies and pastries, and the coffee. On two visits, I had an americano each time, and it was strong, rich, and rustic.(I mean that as a compliment, in this case.) I also had a very tasty chocolate chip cookie that wasn’t enormous.(Also, a compliment). I might just head down there today for the friendly baristas, good coffee(I’m looking forward to trying a cappuccino sometime soon…) and a snack!

I had an hour to kill while waiting for a friend near Chinatown and I needed two things: food and coffee. I saw Café Café and decided to pop in, and I’m really glad I did. The interior is mostly wood and very cozy. There is a lot more room inside than you would think from the storefront. There is a bar you can sit at on the main floor and a small seating area with benches and tables to the side. Upstairs is a seating area broken up into two parts. One with small tables and chairs, the other with benches and chairs(and yes, small tables!). The music playing was calm and really set the mood. I had a egg and cheese sandwich which was delicious! The coffee was just the right strength to wake me up and put me in a good mood. Service was fast and courteous. It wasn’t very crowded so I was able to hang out there for at least thirty minutes before shifting over to the benches outside. Any time I’m in the area, I’ll know where to go to get myself a nice cup of joe and a tasty sandwich. I’m also eager to try their pastries and baked goods — they looked awesome!
