Given that this restaurant is in the middle of Times Square, expect there to be a lot of tourists, families, and little kids. A group of 6 other people and I made a reservation, and we were seated after only a few minutes of waiting. The waiting area was packed and crowded with people. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Do not come here for super authentic, handmade Italian food! The food was pricy and quality average. You could definitely get better Italian food somewhere else in the city, for a much better price. But that was what I expected assuming that it’s main business is tourist-type. However, the portions were quite big and the restaurant made family-sharing style incredibly easy. The restaurant ambiance was also warm and welcoming, and the decorations reminded me of Christmas(in a good way), with all the lights, colors, and friendliness. After eating all our food, which took a good 45 minutes, we ordered a dessert sundae for my friend’s birthday. They sang a cute, fun song to him, which was nice and made all of us pretty happy. The huge sundae was as good as it looks(which is VERY good) and was shared between us 7 people… it was STILL a struggle to finish. We were SO full. Even after eating most of our food, we stayed in our booth for another hour and a half, talking, laughing, and nibbling on the small food we had left. We didn’t get ANY warning or harsh looks to leave, even though we stayed for a really long time lol(2.5 hours total). Overall, although the food was not great, the restaurant friendliness was awesome. I also really liked how the food was geared towards family sharing. **we came here in late December at about 7 or 8 o’clock, so that may be the reason why so many people were there.

5 Stars for an awesome happy hour! I was seeing a Broadway show that was literally next door… had 1.5 hours to kill, and needed a drink so I decided to give this place a shot. So glad I did! They have a nice, spacious bar area an great deals on food and drinks until 7pm. My friend and I had a couple of apps and I had a couple of drinks. I think our total was around $ 30…we were both stuffed and I was buzzed enough to sit through a play and actually enjoyed it. If this place wasn’t situated in the epicenter of hell aka Times Square, I would come here way more often. Next time I find myself in that neck of the woods around happy hour time I will gladly stop in. Bartender was super nice and funny too, always a plus in my book! Looking for a place in the hood? Def check it out, but I have dibs on a barstool!

Worst experience went for a friends bday because carmines was booked first finding this place is a joke its around the corner from where they claim their address to be we are seated and order a large bottle of wine and one glass of red our waitress brings a warm bottle of white to the table when we ask for for an ice bucket in a tight voice agrees but never brings one or the glass of red till after the appetizers arrive to the table the food isn’t anything special I’ve had better penne vodka at a diner at the end of the meal we expect a cake because when we made the reservation on buccas website on the birthday reservation page with your online reservation and a party of 4 or more(we were 6) you get a free birthday cake however our waitress told us shed never heard of such a thing when we spoke to the manager he claimed the promotion didn’t start till a later date however we had the email coupon the best they did was comp a 5 dollar brownie sundae which was a square inch cube of brownie covered by whipcream at this point we were all disappointed and our waitress had an attitude bringing us the check never again!

My friend and i were in the city for a girls night. We were doing things randomly so we didn’t make a reservation but a half an hour wait during dinner for a restaurant in the middle of times square wasn’t too bad. The food was very good and the portions were big. My only complaint was that our waiter was kind of snippy our entire stay there and took such a long time to get our check and take it back that we almost missed our train. It was almost closing time and there weren’t even that many people left in the restaurant. I would still come back for the food though

The waiters were assholes and literally spilled drinks on my friend. They also have a real bad attitude. Don’t come to this place to eat.

My family and I came all the way from Seattle to NY to experience the City, see The Lion King and the Knicks play there last game of the season. During our visit we wanted to have a nice dinner before seeing the Lion King, not realizing that everywhere you go in Manhattan for dinner you’re going to need a reservation. We were running short on time and decided to stop by Buca di Beppo’s in the bar area for a quick but delicious dinner we didn’t have to reserve prior. It was difficult at first trying to find anywhere to sit but eventually after about 15 mins waiting a group left clearing up space for us to sit down. Side note: The hostess’ were very welcoming even though we were planning on sitting in the bar area. We’ve all had Buca’s before in Seattle many times so we knew the food was going to be good. We ordered an awesome bottle of wine, Bruschetta as an appetizer and then split the Chicken Parmesan dish. SOOOOOGOOOD! The best however, was our bartender! I cant remember his name for the life of me now after meeting so many people, but he truly made the experience that much better. He was attentive, very quick, efficient, friendly and made the most amazing sangria! Being a bartender on a busy evening in NY I can imagine is never easy(especially when people leave $ 3 tips on $ 100 tabs– the group prior to us sitting down) but he did it with elegance and grace regardless! Big thank you to our awesome bartender friend! You were truly the best!

Worst birthday experience at Bucca di Beppo by far. Because the waitress was horrible. I have been at Bucca many times and had celebrated bday at Bucca before multiple times. But this time was truly the worst. The waitress was not attentive and disappeared for most of our service. We even had to wait so long to get our checks to pay the bill. Suffice it to say we did not even celebrate our birthdays(mine and my bro’s). Because the waitress did not come. So after waiting 45 to one hr, we decided not even to order the dessert for the birthdays. And did not even bother. This experience deter me from coming to this restaurant again. I dont think I will be coming back to this branch again. Other branches are okay. But this one with today’s experience is the worst. Edited: our table was not the only table that complain of the horrible service. The two tables near ours, the people also complained and said to us that today waitress service was the worst they ever had. And they couldn’t wait to leave. But what piss me off the most was the waitress had the audacity to complain to another waiter that our tip was little. She should be glad we gave her a tip at all. Because she truly did not deserve any tip. She was lucky I did not hear her smirk remark to her colleague. My brother heard it. I was this close to complaining to the manager about her since he was near the front of the restaurant. Had I heard her remark I would had 100% complained and she would probably had been reprimanded. Worst waitress whom my brother-in-law said it best, she was clueless. Like as if it’s her first day being a waitress altogether. Just plain disgusting. This review should only get one star, the second star was for the food. Food today was okay. I remember it being better. Yup, bad bday experience for bro, me and my whole family.

I came because I had a free pasta coupon. We got the Fettuccine Alfredo and a small calamari. The calamari was very good but a LOT smaller then anticipated. The pasta was tasteless and forgettable.

Being a lover of italian food I must say that I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. This was my first time at a family style restaurant. The only great thing about this restaurant was the good customer service. The waiter was very attentive despite the numerous requests. The food on the other hand was extremely bland. I don’t know who the chef is, or whether or not they even have taste buds but this food was not good. It tasted like food fit for the nursing home. I had fettucini alfredo, stuffed raviloi, and chicken in lemon sauce with capers. The ravioli sauce was watery, the chicken and sauce had not one bit of seasoning and it had a strange taste. The fettucini barely made the cut and was lacking seasoning. I had to add salt because it was so bland. When desert came, which was a cannoli, I was so unimpressed I didnt even bother to try. Would never come here again and although I came for a function Im glad I didnt have to come out of pocket for anything.

Best part of our meal? The house red. The service was kind of slow despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Our chicken stuffed with proscuttio(pesto sauce was actually decent) had pieces that were so tough we couldn’t actually cut through it. I suspect that they microwaved it. Mario our waiter was very pleasant though. The 60s music was good if that’s what you’re into. Meatballs were bland and the sauce was watery. First and last time coming here.

I feel like my last review was a by harsh. If you’re a tourist, it’s a fun spot to go. They have kitchy cute décor. In fact, after my last review the manager reached out to me to apologize for my experience. THAT is customer service. I really appreciate their care and commitment so I have decided to change my opinion. I’ll be back not just because of their clear attention to their service but also because of i have to go back to Times Square, I’d rather patronize a cute place like this.

This place takes all the my review stars in the world. Do not, repeat do NOT miss the chicken marsala and pair it with ravioli in meatsauce. This is a killer combo and I’ve had many a bday parties and happy happy meals here! Yes it’s a chain, but who cares? Also unparalleled customer service and wait staff! Fun drinks, fun atmosphere!

What a disappointment! Came here on a relatively busy night for my birthday. Our waiter, Anthony, seemed more like a drill sergeant who seemed too overwhelmed with tables. I ordered a ceasar salad with chicken that came with no chicken. A manager walked over and told me he took it off the bill; very kind. My Mother told him it was my birthday so I assumed I was getting sung to. Wrong. But As we were leaving the table next to us was sung to for a birthday; I was basically ignored. We ordered a tiramisu that was the size of a large soup bowl and extremely annoyed that we weren’t told how large it was going to be; we wouldn’t have ordered it. You disappointed me, Buca. Capisce?

Been here several times and came the day after Christmas with some newcomers. Had a reservation and was seated rather quickly. We were a party of four and ordered two appetizers and two entrees. The calamari was good but the mini meatballs were a big hit. Helped that the sauce was outstanding. For entrees we had chicken saltimbocca and shrimp florentine. The chicken was very moist and the sauce was delicious. As for the shrimp florentine, there was an abundance of shrimp. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp! For dessert we attempted the Colossal Brownie Sundae. Served in a huge martini glass it was a huge, sweet and delicious. Our waitress, Steph, was great. Informative and attentive she was consistent with how good this place is. Overall I always recommend this Times Square favorite. You would never know this is a chain restaurant; it really performs like a local favorite.

It was late. We were hungry. It was Planet Hollywood or Buca di Beppo, and we selected the one we hadn’t had before. I wish I’d gone Planet Hollywood. The place was rather deserted when we arrived around 10 p.m. It’s two floors from the street level. Planet Hollywood is below. Pricing was about what I expected or a little higher for entrees. My fork had food left on it. I sent it back. My glass of wine also came with food on it. They replaced it promptly, but you have to wonder about the cleanliness standards of a place that gives you two dirty items and doesn’t even think to comp the glass of wine, maybe, to smooth things over. We split a pizza. It was good enough, but nothing overly delicious, and had a little too much seasoning for my liking. Decorwise, it’s like an Italian version of Applebees. I don’t think I’ll go back.

I am not going to be an elitist and take anything away from this place just cause they’re a big chain. This restaurant does an incredible job of making a windowless restaurant in the heart of times square feel cozy, quiet, and welcoming! Hubby and I would never have even known that this place existed if we hadn’t read about their free birthday pastas. Loved this place as a teenager growing up in so cal, so we signed up for the mailing/birthday list and then came in for our free pasta! HUGE servings(only made for 2 – 4 people). Though there are no windows, they somehow create this ambiance of winding rooms that make you feel a little bit like you’re outside on a dark evening. Our favorites are the lasagna and the calamari. Great place to escape the hustle and bustle for a little break. Kid friendly. Hubby loves the complimentary bread basket!

I love Buca di Beppo. Normally, I wouldn’t recommend that anyone go to a large chain restaurant, but this one is the exception. The main thing I noticed at this one was that we didn’t get the walk through the kitchen that I’ve experienced at EVERYOTHERBUCA I’ve ever been too(Texas, Washington, New Mexico, Arizona, Georgia, California, Florida… told you I was a fan!). That being said, once we were seated we had good service and the food was on par with what I expect from Buca, real, fresh-tasting food served family style. Too bad I was too full to get dessert. Try the Italian Crème Cake! It’s not like any one else’s Italian Crème Cake, there is no coconut involved. It has 6 layers of lemon cake with a mascarpone filling. I opt out of the raspberry coulis because that’s how I roll.

Great way to get your attention before entering the restaurant… When you get upstairs the service was barely there. We were greeted then sat at a table the waiter came took out order then we didn’t see him till the food was reAdy. No water was given(I don’t know if they give water) but most restaurants do. Food was ok

Great location!!! An elevator attendant handed us a coupon which helped us choose this place for lunch. We ordered the warm spinach salad, the spicy pizza and a bottle of the reserve chianti. Our server Elizabeth was very sweet to explain the family style portions so we didn’t over order and saved room for dessert. The sauce was really good on the pizza. The crust was a little tough and a little mushy. The flavors were good and we ate it all. We noticed that Elizabeth was also tending bar so was pretty busy but she helped us settle up so we could make our show. We finished with cannoli, and a single sized warm brownie with ice cream and coffee. Thanks for the friendly service and coupon.

We had reservations for 6:00PM for a group of 6 and arrived early at 5:30PM. The maître d’ told us that she would check us in but could not seat us «until closer to the reservation time.» I told her okay and we waited. Because it was relatively early before the dinner crowd arrived, the place was kind of empty. There were at least a dozen empty tables in plain sight, not counting any empty tables there may have been in the back areas that were not visible from the front of the restaurant. At 6:05PM, I asked her what our seating status was and it was not until I asked that she said«oh, yeah. we can seat you now.» And then SHETOOKUSTOONEOFTHETABLESTHATHADBEENEMPTYTHEENTIRETIME!!! This place is a JOKE.

Super italienisches Restaurant!
