The avo smash and lattes are amazing! Cute little spot in the middle of financial district. Wish they had more room to sit, but great food and great service.

The coffee here is top notch, from yet another Aussie Caffeine stop here in Manhattan. I began coming here because of their reputation for flat whites years ago, and stayed for the warm, familiar service. There is nothing in doubt about their beans or pours, and their brand of counter baked goods are delicious. I haven’t gone wrong yet. The real reason I have chosen to write this review today, and the reason you should give them your business, is their repeated professionalism in the face of several self-entitled locals, who have time and again gotten overly snotty and downright vicious to the staff. Clearly people of means, talking down to people who are better human beings than they are, I watch these negative customers throw tantrums. The staff never talks down to them, and laugh off negativity with professionalism, and grace. It’s astounding, and inspiring how wonderful and professionally the staff here is. They also have good taste in music here, and the manager is awesome. The decour, if you’ve never been, is refurbished wood, and more interesting than most Manhattan cafes, offering a rustic taste of Australia, cricket bats and all. If you’re noshing for a bite, they offer variations of spreads on toast, including Alvarado, Vegemite, and more. Stop in for a look, a coffee, a bite, or just some of the damn finest baristas you’re likely to meet.

Been looking for legit coffee in FiDi for a while, and happy to say I finally found it. The baristas are passionate about good coffee, and are always super friendly. Roasts are always fresh, and I love the Aussie style. Nice music taste too!

What a great little coffee shop in FiDi. FiDi is getting very glossy with the high end shops and fancy condos opening up, but down a mildy-creepy alley is Bleustone Coffee. It is a tiny hole in the wall. You could easily walk right by the place. However, where else would all those financial district types be going in such an alleyway. Another thing I have come to find out is that Australians love coffee in a major way. I had no idea. I just got a regular old coffee. I am not a coffee snob, but it was very good. Others seem to agree. The place was packed and there was a line waiting to order in the middle of the afternoon. Need coffee when traipsing around Wall Street? Sneak down the alley just behind and pop into Bluestone.

I must say, I expected more from Blue Lane, an Australian import. The coffee is quite pricey at over $ 3 and frankly, just average in flavor. Ive heard that the breakfast here is quite good but I did not ate so no comment

Thanks to my Australian friend, Tina, I am now in love with the Australian take on coffee. I didn’t know that they did coffee so well… and apparently they take it seriously. I always order the latté which is served with just the right amount of steamed milk allowing you to actually taste the coffee. American lattés are 85% boiling hot milk. Bluestone does the latté justice. First, it’s a tad smaller than a standard latter so you don’t get milk bloat. Second, the beans they use for their espresso must be of celestial origin because the coffee isn’t bitter. It’s very berry-y and somewhat acidic. Delicious! I also recommend the avocado smash with a poached egg. It comes on the most divine piece of bread with a drizzle of olive oil. It does need a bit of salt and is kind of pricey($ 11⁄14 with egg) but still quite good. The service is also great. They’re all very friendly and smiley. It’s a breath of fresh air in this bustling and sometimes grumpy city.

Awesome coffee here but just a little bit on the pricier side. Usually the service is pretty fast when it comes to just a regular coffee or ice coffee. The lattes or special coffee drinks take a little bit longer. They also have some pastries which are really good too, however, downside is that it’s pricier than most places. The espresso shots are great tho and really give you that caffiene fix.

A welcome spot in the neighborhood! It’s way smaller and not as well-lit as the West Village location, but the avo toast is still delicious. Sad they don’t offer a poached egg topping option here, but I suppose it’s because this location doesn’t have a full kitchen. Oh well :) glad to have the option of my favorite Aussie avo toast for lunch when I’m in the area for work!

Such a cute café tucked away in fidi. I love the Aussie theme and memorabilia on the walls. All the workers seem to have Australian accents too. Lattes are great and they even have iced coffee with ice cream that’s perfect in the Summer. I go a bit out of my way from the office sometimes to come here when I want to escape the Starbucks scene.

Unilocalers can’t handle the financial district unless they are shepherded into an enclave of some unassuming office building. An annoying Williamsburg oasis in a big marble covered bank. Where a haughty rude security guard tells you to go around to some non existent entrance I can’t find. For coffee. Which tastes even better after the many obstacles you face to get it. No one talks about how uncomfortable and unpleasant it is to come here. So I thought I could fill that role. The baristas are wan, non Australian hipsters in this clapboard half enclave covered with Australian surf paraphernalia I don’t get. Obviously there’s a line because this experience is important. The emaciated off duty lumberjack resists giving suggestion before fainting of the vapors. My friend and I ordered a spread. We got avocado toast and jaffles and almond milk lattes. The avocado toast was dull and buttery with a sprinkling of red pepper. The added cheese did little to provide umami. I make a better one at home when I have nothing in the fridge, it costs less than $ 3 and it has mustard goddamnit. This trend needs to die. The jaffle is a cheesy little closed sandwich, worth ordering one or two times for the experience. The lattes are well crafted and worth the occasional trek for takeaway. There is nowhere to sit or stand to eat because you are in half a hipster elementary school diorama, or perhaps due to the wooden panels, half a Sukkah. Happy Sukkot. The hipsters bunch in illogical patterns and get angry that we don’t know their wan, anemic order. Well they can practice dull protestations and collapse on each other for warmth. I’m going to Filicori Zecchini.

I have to take a little detour on my way to work to get here, but it is absolutely worth it. They now offer matcha lattes! A friend gave me the tip, and because I have a compulsion to try every cup of matcha in the city, I decided to stop by. It happened to be the Pope’s visit to NYC, so I had to take the roundabout way of getting to work anyway… They make it with almond milk, which is what I prefer. I was a little sad they didn’t attempt any latte art, and I’ve seen some extraordinary matcha latte art out there, but taste-wise, it was pretty good. Their flat whites are apparently the way to go – I’m not a coffee drinker, so I won’t vouch for that, but it sounds like a given. I’ve also had the avo smash. If you’re someone who can justify shelling bills on a sandwich you could easily make yourself, be my guest – you’ll munch away quite happily. I should mention, this is also the place where I was inducted into the vegemite club. Well, I wouldn’t say I’m a great club member, but it definitely left a strong impression: I’d be willing to give vegemite toast a try again! It’s an acquired taste, for sure. Several locations in the city. The staff behind the counter at this FIDI location is superb.

Amazing hidden gem in FiDi! Tucked away on New Street, you’ll find this storefront coffee shop. so much better than the commercial brands around the corner. They make«true to form» coffee and espresso drinks and have soy AND almond milk for us dairy sensitive types. They also have soooo many gluten free options; not just pastries, but toast as well, which means I can have an avocado smash or almond butter and bananas. Usually I have one gluten free option(if any)…mad props for this! The line can be long in the am, but if I’m only getting coffee, it moves fast. If I opt for«banana bread» or «avo smash» it takes a few extra minutes, but it’s always worth the wait(they make everything to order). Staff is friendly and remember me and in a city with millions of people, that’s a nice touch.

Avocado smash with the lot. DAMMMNNNN. It definitely shouldn’t cost as much as what they are charging. But it’s heavenly. The line also moves quite slow which is problematic. But This place just makes me so happy.

I couldn’t let myself leave New York without grabbing a cup of coffee! It only felt right. So even with being on a time crunch, my roommates and I decided to run from the ferry to Bluestone to grab a quick cup of joe and something to munch on before heading back to catch our MegaBus! First impressions? — Definitely a cute space with hospitable staff. When I approached the cashier, I was a bit nervous because way back when I had no idea what in the world a Flat White was and I used to be scared to ask… but after I posed the question the barista never made me feel dumb or like a coffee newbie! Love that! After she answered all my questions, I settled on ordering a Flat White and Jaffle to-go! It took some time because my order got mixed up with another customer, but the quality of the products was all there! I thoroughly enjoyed my Flat White and it provided me with the extra boost of energy I needed to make it through the rest of the day and my trip back to D.C. My Jaffle was quite tasty too, as orders kind of got mixed up and I ended up with a Jaffle with avocado. Hint: if you love avocado, it really does add a little somethin’ somethin’ to it. When I informed the staff that I didn’t order a Jaffle without avocado they offered to remake it for me, however, I decided against it because I really needed to catch my bus! They were totally understanding and I went about my way! :) My friend ordered a regular cup of coffee and it was a bit fruitier than what we expected. I have nothing against coffee flavors of this variety, but they’re honestly not for me(or my friends)! So she ended up dumping it after sipping enough to get a caffeine boost and warmth(because we came in Fall)…So food for thought it is to always ask baristas what kind of coffee it is and how they’d describe the flavors! Def. would save you time and money!

What an awesome little coffee shop. My som had the brekkie bowl(yogurt/blueberries/granola) and a hot chocolate… and enjoyed both! I had the toast with honey and an iced coffee. The simple but extremely delicious toast was a small taste of brekkie heaven…

You had me at vegemite. I don’t have a coffee habit, I enjoy the smell more than the taste. I like to try new places in the neighborhood. Bluestone Lane is an unassuming and special Aussie coffeeshop. Its entrance is on New Street, not Broad Street as the listed address would have you believe — though this place is technically located in the 30 Broad Street building and all the way in the back. The barista and staff here are friendly and upbeat. I remember the first time I stopped in one Monday, the woman taking orders and working the register was welcoming, enthusiastic, and funny — she was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. A nice start to my week: listening to the easy banter and smart conversations, I’m a simple gal… Coffee is not my thing, until I met flat white. To me, this is a mild version of a cappuccino but I am in no way a connoisseur. I just know I enjoy this version more than anything I’ve tasted at Starbucks. They also have a respectable array of coffees, chais, and baked goods. The lemington is delightful, a coco-nutty, cream filled, chocolate sponge cake treat. Don’t miss the jaffle and toasts. The bread they use here is hearty, lightly and perfectly toasted(also have gluten-free versions). I love myself a delectable avo smash with prosciutto and some uncomplicated toast with vegemite. My favorites for a simple snack /lunch during the day. There’s not much in terms of seating and space for lingering around but we are New Yorkers and we’ll make things work if we have to. Stop by and check it out of you’re near by, you will be glad you did :)

We foolishly«named our own price» for a hotel in Manhattan, and ended up trudging up to island every day from the Financial District. Luckily, we found Bluestone Lane Coffee along the way. The Prosciutto Avo Smash is a thing out of my dreams. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something on a menu and resonated with it. I make a mean avocado toast, but never had I ever added prosciutto – it’s fantastic. The flavors meld beautifully with the sweet tomatoes and the crunch of the toast. After a year of living on the East Coast in search of an iced tea that could compete with Portland’s tea scene – Bluestone Lane has exceeded expectations. My boyfriend’s latte had a nice smooth texture, but in the flavor department was certainly nothing special. Pros: 1.Excellent iced tea 2. Prosciutto, tomato Avocado Smash is brilliant. 3. Given the location and the fact that it was a Saturday: it’s the best quick weekend breakfast in the Financial District. 4. Quaint, cozy atmosphere with kind staff. Cons: 1. This place is average quality, with an above average price. My frugal former barista(Three Fifty Bakery, DC) boyfriend wasn’t very amused with his latte. 2. Serving sizes are much smaller than most American coffee guzzlers have come to expect. 3. Location: It’s sort of a challenge to find: It’s nestled into a building without it’s own signage on the façade on one side, and is tucked under some scaffolding on the other. The space itself is very small and offers minimal seating.

This place definitely matches the reviews. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I had to come for the avocado smash with prosciutto. The staff are nice with their Australian accents. Only downside is the price, it is expensive but so worth it once in awhile. It’s perfectly seasoned and smashed.

Since starting my new job, I spend about ten hours in the Financial District per day. If I multiply that by five, I spend roughly fifty hours in the Financial District per week — that is a lot of time in FiDi. I like to make the most of my time and I love exploring new areas, so to maximize my time here, I’ve taken it upon myself to visit every coffee shop in FiDi at least once. Daunting, yes. But, every true explorer knows that maps are for the unadventurous and coffee is mandatory. I kicked off my coffee tour with Bluestone Lane Coffee. Not my favorite, but definitely good. My skim cappuccino was delicious and reasonably(–ish) priced. I was a little disappointed in the food selection — very slim pickings. I didn’t see a loyalty card — I’m all about loyalty cards — so that was another negative. However, the shop was cute — small, quaint and slightly hipster-ish*. I will say, it was difficult to find. The address is very, very, very misleading. I went in through the wrong entrance — through the office building — and I had to wait on the«business» side as opposed to the«regular customer» side. That was kind of annoying, actually, but not the staff’s fault.(I still, to this day, have no idea how to get to Bluestone Lane Coffee the right way.) *hipster-ish: lots of hard wood décor and beanies
