This place makes a mighty fine, hearty soup. The broth is perfectly herb-seasoned and not too salty and definitely homemade. The veggies seemed like they came out of a can — esp the mushrooms — but the chicken was real. I’ve also tried their muffins and cookies, which are homemade too! I prefer my cookies chewy, so I wasn’t a fan of their recipe, but the muffin was very light — not too greasy/buttery or sugary.

Honestly, one of the worst bagels I’ve ever had. In New York you tend to get used to the idea that almost every place has a decent bagel but this place has changed my perspective on that. Not only was this bagel not up to New York standards, it was worse than the bagel I recently had at a Dunkin Donuts at a rest stop on the Masspike. It was also burnt, don’t eat at this place. It’s one of those feedhalls designed to stuff as much food down the gullet of over worked FiDi Finance workers.

Pros: Quick breakfast sandwich Relatively Inexpensive for the area Cons: The two guys who make the breakfast are super unfriendly and emotionless. They are almost angry that you are there to order breakfast. I just smiled and laugh…

I have mixed feelings about this place. Their baked goods are fresh and oh-so-delicious. The breakfast sandwiches have no flavor and are average at best. The worst part is the service you get from the sandwich guys — they are sultry about 90% of the time. I get it, I’m not a morning person either but a smile once in a while wouldn’t hurt.

The painful dearth of breakfast and snack options on Wall Street has led me here again and again when I’m in a total rush to work in the morning after my workout or need a little pick-me-up in the afternoon. The breakfast bagel sandwiches are about $ 3 – 4 and they also have omelettes, fast food style, that you can customize. What I really appreciate about this little place is it’s almost the only place on Wall you can enjoy some calm and anonymity while sitting in the open-space court. Country Café also has a lot more food options to choose from and a much shorter line, if at all, than Starbucks next door. It is what it is; you pay for the convenience and a place to sit down and eat by yourself on this otherwise impossible street.

I have only ever tried the iced coffee — and it was not very good. Tasted burnt and watered down. They also don’t have a real milk bar, so you can’t add your own milk.

If it weren’t for such a convenient location, I would not frequent this place as much as I do now. It’s a decent deli, it has all the basics — sandwiches, salad, soup, etc. all at a reasonable price. Nothing bad, but also nothing amazing.

The Country Café gets a majority of my «breakfast food» money primarily because it’s connected to my job. After getting off the 2⁄3 train at Wall Street, it is so convenient to just walk into this café, order my food and go. Don’t expect spectacular food here people… the bagels are basic, the egg sandwiches are basic, etc. Coffee is a little better than basic, but all in, just a basic convenient breakfast.

Food is what to expect. Coffee is just ok. The people who work there are split into two kinds: 1) The relatively helpful and relatively happy 2) The two guys working the morning shift who pretty much don’t give a shit about life. This place is about convenience and nothing else. Be prepared to be disappointed pretty much every time.

I go here now and then just out of convenience, there are far better places in the neighborhood to grab a bagel and coffee. I find the service to be alternating between surly, inefficient or friendly depending on who is helping you. The food is just fair. This morning, it was highly inefficient. I ordered an everything bagel, non-toasted with cream cheese, and a large iced coffee with milk. The woman started to butter the bagel. I noticed, and at first thought she was using cream cheese and told her it was going to need far more than she was using. With a puzzled look she said«It’s butter» and I reiterated that I ordered cream cheese. She started again. Went to get my coffee, and began pouring a hot coffee. Told her again, iced coffee. She packed up my order. I asked her to verify the bagel was with cream cheese to which she said yes. I should have looked before leaving. When I got to my office, I had someone else’s order, a toasted bagel with butter, and hardly any at that. And of course I was charged incorrectly. Cripes. How difficult can this be to do for a living? It happens all the time there which is why I hardly ever go. *reminder to self: never go again*

Horrible bagel, bad coffee. The bagel was dough-y and bland. The cream cheese, I swear, was cut with sour cream. Very poor quality. I couldn’t eat it at all.

The Country Café scores big on convenience points: you just pop out of the Wall St. subway station and you can get your morning coffee and breakfast. I must admit, I was pretty impressed by the selection of flavored coffees — some traditional flavors, such as hazelnut and then some weird ones like chocolate raspberry. The coffee, however, sucks — it is really watered down for the price. To top it all off, I’ve been here a few times and no one understands the concept of «black.» There is also another, larger Country Café located in the lobby of 70 Pine in case the line is too long at this location.

I get off at the Wall Street Station when I work in NYC and for a while I used to wonder what is the long line at The Country Café about in the morning. My guess is that it must be good if there is a long line, who knows? Yesterday morning I was running late and decided to pick up breakfast near the office, so I stopped by The Country Café en route to the office. I had a sesame bagel(toasted) with cream cheese and a coffee, which added up to $ 3.45. The coffee was good and the sesame bagel was toasted just right. They do come in small, medium and large and they also have a limited choice of flavored coffee(hazelnut, vanilla, etc.). My only complaint is the large coffee is rather«small» compared to what you would be used to at Au Bön Pain. The«menu» that is behind the counter and above is interesting and most of the items sounds good and it becomes difficult to choose from the breakfast menu to the panini menu. I would definitely like to return here to try one of the paninis they offer there. The menu is literally a pain in the neck to look at given the height. The baked goods looks very tempting. The staff here behind the counter and the cashier are friendly. The place looks clean although you can’t exactly see the floor behind the counter. The lady that took my order repeated my order back to me just to make sure she got it right. They do offer 50% off for certain baked goods(e.g.: scones) after 3:00pm. Although, I’m not sure if it can be called a cheap lunch destination because I haven’t had lunch here yet. I have a feeling that I will find myself back here.

Located inside the 60 Wall Street Atrium, the Country Café is one of the best cheap lunch destinations in the neighborhood. Like pretty much everywhere in the area, they make sandwiches, paninis, and salads and have a small hot food bar. Where the Country Café really shines is its baked goods. The spinach, chicken, and potato leek pies are excellent and a real bargain at $ 3.95.(I especially recommend the spinach pie — the spinach filling is creamy and delicious). The pastries are also good and baked on premises.
