Vegan bakeries have always attracted my attention. I’m vegetarian but find it fascinating how they can make these baked goods taste so good without using milk or eggs. I had the peanut butter cookie, the oat«everything’s in there» cookie and a vanilla cupcake. I can truly say this place was better than Xanax. It’s so good you will want to slap your boss. The only thing that I would suggest is staying open later, especially during the weekend. I just feel people would come running(they do now…) They have an assortment of cakes and pies as well. I’m so glad it all went down on calorie free Saturday.

One of the very few vegan bakeries in the city and extremely delicious. Only thing the slices are pricey.

My husband and I ate a lot of vegan treats on our most recent visit to NYC, and Blossom Bakery was one of our stops. We both found their selection to be super limited. It was a holiday weekend, so maybe that’s why. We liked everything we had, but we didn’t LOVE anything. The carrot cake was probably my favorite thing. The red velvet cupcake was super dry and it didn’t have a proper amount of frosting. I was also served a not-so-hot cup of tea on a very cold day which was disappointing. Maybe we’d go back another day when it’s not a holiday weekend to give it another chance.

Everything here is amazing, but a few highlights that should not be missed are: The apple pie. Hands down the best ever. The coconut Macaroons. A mouth full of heaven. And finally, the hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate simply has no rival. Remember, there are no animal products. None. No powdered milk fillers, no processed white sugar. There’s an incredibly high amount of pure cocoa powder in their hot chocolate. It’s unforgettable.

Continuing on my experimental weekend eating MOSTLY(I had turkey sausage with breakfast this morning) Vegan meals, I was curious about a bakery written up on Unilocal.Blossom is a Vegan bakery near Manhattan’s meat packing district(Ironic, right?). Their storefront is very small, has 2 tables and offers a couple of cakes served by the slice, a few cookies, and some bars. We were debating between the chocolate cake and the carrot cake, but since I don’t care for raisins, decided on chocolate cake. I have NO idea how they baked such a rich, moist, Incredibly flavored cake without using butter, milk and eggs, but this was without a doubt the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted. Well done Blossom!

This was definitely worth the stop! The shop was small but pleasant and the service was good. I tried the carrot cake(which was great except that it was a little dry) and an awesome apple muffin. Both were very tasty. I would recomend this bakery to any vegan(or non vegan) looking for a worry free place for sweets!

There is a Lady named Ola who works there who gives the best customer service. I’ve called in a few times and have had under rush pick up the orders for me and all I can say is thank you Blossom Bakery. Ola keep it up. All businesses need a person like you. The cupcakes I get for my clients if gluten free and very tasty. I won’t be eating any cakes or cupcakes from anywhere else. Thanks Ola and Blossom.

I ordered a lemon with cheesecake frosting vegan gluten-free wedding cake for delivery to a restaurant in chinatown last Friday. It was perfect — beautifully decorated — two tier — white with yellow flowers. Delicious for everyone including non-vegan non-gluten-free eaters. It was beautiful. It made a happy occasion even better. We were thrilled. Thank you Blossom Bakery for all your help! Highly recommended.

I was looking for a dairy-free cupcake and my friend suggested I look at vegan bakeries. I am so glad Blossom Bakery was my first vegan cupcake experience! I got the red velvet cupcake, which was somewhat dry but absolutely delicious. I am not a huge fan of overly moist cupcakes, so I actually enjoyed the different texture. Plus, the ‘cream cheese’ frosting actually tasted outstanding – not too sweet, but sweet enough. Young girl behind the counter was also extremely friendly. Definitely recommend.

The baked goods I purchased were absolutely delicious! This included a blueberry poptart and a butterfinger bar(omg!). The shop itself really needs some TLC though. there were only 2 small high tables, which were very rocky and uncomfortable to sit at. The coffee choices/combos were limited. Overall, this is a nice place to pick up treats — and go.

Not sure why this place has good reviews, maybe people’s expectations are low. I went to get a vegan treat and purchased a small chocolate cupcake that was gluten free. The cupcake tasted like it was made from hydrogenated or recycled oil. It has a very bad after taste of bad oil. I purchased it for $ 3.95. Waste of money. They also had no lattes like their site says nor did they have a menu, they told me «we have a menu online» What kind of business has no menu? I will not be going back. Stay away

Grabbed the non-GF $ 3 peanut butter cookie which was good until the aftertaste. Took a while to purchase a single cookie with no line because the staffer was on the phone and didn’t acknowledge me until I took out cash and suggested she may take a second to accept it($ 7 cc minimum).

I am organizing a birthday celebration, and was recently made aware that we have some vegans in our department. As birthday cake is a big part of this celebration, I began my search for vegan cupcakes. I started searching online and Unilocal. I was a little confused by the hours posted on Unilocal for this bakery. Once I realized I should just call, a kind lady answered that they were open. Blossom Bakery may want to post the hours on Unilocal. When I went in they only had two flavors available in cupcakes; Red Velvet and chocolate. I decided to try a red velvet cupcake and a slice of carrot cake(as that would be the same taste for the cupcakes). I had read that in general vegan cakes/cupcakes can be dry. I wanted to make sure our vegans would not have that experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the carrot cake. It was very moist and the icing was perfect. I would never have known it was vegan. The red velvet cupcake was a bit dryer, not as moist as the carrot cake, but besides that it was ok. I have to admit I am not a red velvet fan So I may of been a bit swayed. The icing on the red velvet was just right not too sweet or too heavy. So with my delightful experience, I feel confident that this is the place to get the vegan sweets for our office celebration. With a 48 hour notice I can place a special order, I know I’ll be back again for myself even though I am not vegan.

THISISNOLONGER A BAKERYSTOREFRONT! IT’S A PRODUCTIONSITE. PLEASEMAKETHISCLEARONYOURWEBSITESOPEOPLEDON’T WASTETHEIRTIME!!! I have been to every Blossom and BDJ restaurant in NYC and I love them all! I was excited when they opened blossom bakery because I would no longer have to travel all the way to the LES to go to babycakes. I must admit I haven’t been to Blossom Bakery in about a year and I went today to get some cupcakes and other treats for a small dinner party I was having. I first checked their website and selected what items I wanted(their menu is significantly smaller than babycakes). When I finally got there, I saw that the bakery had completely changed. I knocked on the door because I didn’t know if I was even allowed in. The storefront was dark and there was baking equipment everywhere! A pleasant woman let me in and I told her that I was here to purchase some baked goods and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said they ONLYPRODUCETHEBAKEDGOODSHEREANDDON’T ACTUALLYSELLTHEMATTHISLOCATION.(when did they make this change and why is it not reflected on their website???) She advised to walk over a few blocks to Blossom Du Jour to buy the actual baked goods. I was in a bind, so I just went. When I got there they had 3 different kinds of cupcakes –_– and a few cookies. WHEREAREALLTHEITEMSFROMYOURWEBSITE??? Where are all the cakes and pies and cookies and other goodies that you once sold??? Where? I thought the whole reason they created a bakery was because their baked goods at the restaurants were so popular. So why did you go back to exclusively selling them at your restaurants? I’m confused and I probably won’t be back.

Maybe I’ll be schooled on the subject, but I didn’t realize that this was a vegan bakery, but for me – I didn’t think it would be an issue. I picked the 7″ chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for a bosses birthday.(Up from 32nd and Park; luckily the weather was fairly cool so the walk was bearable – albeit long) I was disappointed to find that the cake itself was dry. When eaten with the frosting it was pretty good(a couple of the bites had a weird salty taste to it) but for the most part the cake itself had a dry brownie/dry sponge texture to it. If this is normal as far as vegan baked goods go, then it would be good to know; but if not – I just don’t think it was a $ 50 cake. Pros: Taste was pretty good Cons: Texture was off. With the amount of good reviews, I’m assuming mine was an off day or something – and maybe I’ll swing by if I’m ever in the area, but I can’t say that I’d go out of my way again to confirm it.

I bought myself some treats here yesterday for my birthday and was very pleased :) I really liked the croissant and the scone was awesome(but the currants were super seedy). I wish they had more savory items(biscuits!), but I will settle for what I’m given. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Chelsea.

I discovered this small amazing bakery one day as I was walking home from a meeting. I knew all the other blossoms and loved their food but did not know they also had a bakery. I’ve tried nearly everything here and nothing has disappointed me. Ever since I’ve had a dairy allergy and decided to go vegan I’ve never tasted a great vegan cake or cupcake, I’ve had decent ones but something about the texture was always off. Blossom is the first place that I’ve tried their cake and ITISAMAZING. Words cannot describe how good their cakes and cupcakes are. I would recommend their Vanilla cake with Vanilla frosting, red velvet cupcake, carrot cupcake those are my favorites there. Even if you don’t live close to Chelsea it’s totally worth the trip!

Came here because I was craving something sugary. I ended up getting a carrot cake cupcake for $ 3.95. The girl at the register was very sweet, but not as sweet as the entire cupcake that was devoured by me in 0.5 seconds. The place is really tiny(2 – 3 tables max?) so I wouldn’t advise going in a huge group. Getting something to-go is probably your best bet. I would come back!

Blossom Bakery is located in the same spot that the now-defunct Cocoa V was. However, it is a smaller store than Cocoa V with only a few small tables. It is very cramped and hard to move around. That said, we bought 4 vegan cupcakes to take home with us. We got 2 lemon ones, 1 red velvet and 1 vanilla. The clerk behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I asked if she could pack the cupcakes so that there were 2 per container and she happily did so. She even was very patient when I offered to give her exact change as I rummaged through my change purse. My husband had the 2 lemon ones and just raved about them. He rated them as one of the best vegan cupcakes that he’s ever had. What he liked the most was the strong lemon flavor plus the fact that the cupcake wasn’t overly sweet plus the cake part had good density and was moist. I had the red velvet and the vanilla ones. This is the third red velvet vegan cupcake that I’ve tried and I rate Blossom’s in the middle. It is better than Sprinkles vegan red velvet. Sprinkles is very oily and their frosting is coconut-flavored confectioner’s sugar. The other one I’ve tried was from Sweetz Bakery which is in my town. Sweetz has the best one I’ve tried — good flavoring with a light, moist cake. Blossom’s oddly had an orange-flavored undercurrent to it. The vanilla one was the better of the two that I tried. It had great vanilla flavor without being overly sweet plus it had a cake with good density and moistness. Just note that these cupcakes are on the small size compared to your average non-vegan cupcake. For four of them, with the tax included, we paid $ 14.65. We would gladly have these cupcakes again, although I would give the red velvet one a pass.
