We were seated in back of this dark, cozy bar and enjoyed some red wine and sampled three of the crostini. The shrimp with artichokes, prosciutto and burrata were all delish. The burrata was my favorite, topped with fresh basil. Great casual place to catch up with a friend, after work drinks or a date. Attentive and friendly service. The hostess/server was so sweet and brought me ice wrapped in a napkin after I told her I had just burnt my hand on my curling iron before arriving at the restaurant. Limited seating so I would avoid coming here with larger parties. But for an intimate gathering, this is your spot!

Barcibo Enoteca– Wine Bar /small plates — Early evening, on a chilly February we trundled on over from Lincoln Center based on the 4 Unilocal stars. My take away, is grown up fun food & wine with smart service bright and attentive. We tried several wines along with three crostini’s(shrimp, baccala(salt code), the Idaho smoked trout salad and the Lasagna and olive cake; We found everything was enjoyable and paired well with the wines. The dress is casual, the clientele was eclecticish, the lighting is dim, and the seating was cozy with good acoustics. Bottom Line, a cozy little place people come to talk, eat and drink. Interesting Note, Wiki: Enoteca(plural: Enoteche) is an Italian word, derived from the Greek word, which literally means«wine repository»

I have to preface that I eat out ALL the time — all ranges of restaurants. This was the ONE horrendous service experience that prompted me to sign up for Unilocal just to write this review. This review is specific to my experience with the hostess who was behaving completely out of line. I came in last night for dinner and drinks after a movie at the Lincoln AMC. I’ve been to this wine bar before with a friend and really enjoyed it, which was why I insisted on introducing this spot to my boyfriend post movie. When we came in, my boyfriend stopped to check-in at the front while I ran to the back of the restaurant to use the restroom. The hostess came after me and called for my attention so I told her that I had to use the facilities very apologetically. We were seated at the bar in the front, but it was an extremely cold night and the heater wasn’t working properly up front so understandably, we moved ourselves to the back room. The hostess started to appear flustered because we did not check in with her when we moved to the back. She followed us to the back and us at a table top, but we decided to move to bar seating next to the table instead, and when we did, it was written all over her demeanor that she was not happy with us. I understand why the seat changing was frustrating for her, but she is in the hospitality business and is a customer facing representative for the business. It is her job and core competency to accommodate patrons as best as possible. Keep in mind that at this point, we had not placed our drink/food order yet so we were not disrupting their service setup/system. Additionally, the restaurant is casual and was nearly empty at the time we arrived so it wasn’t earth shattering that we moved seats twice. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we thought about leaving, but decided that it wouldn’t be fair to to pick up and go at that point. We ended up spending over $ 200 at the end of the night, so we were definitely good patrons to the business. To top the night, we called for an Über, but our Über driver missed the pick up location. Being that it was cold, I walked back into the bar to make my call to the driver. The front door was slightly ajar so the hostess came by and said that it was freezing from the draft, but rather than inviting me in to make my call, clearly seeing that I was ducking in from the cold, she nudged me out of the restaurant and closed the door on me. This message is to management that this hostess was really out of line and needs to be checked! She is not a good representative of your business!

After an interesting independent movie at the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, my friends and I really needed a glass of wine to discuss what we saw, and Barcibo Enoteca was just a few short blocks away(ideal, since it was snowing out). We were immediately seated in the upstairs room at a high top table. Most of us ordered the Sunday night special, tagliatelle pasta with lamb ragu and a glass of red wine all for $ 20…pretty AMAZING! The wine list was varied and long, the food was served hot and fast, and the service was very friendly. This is a cute place for a date, or a bite after a show in the area.

This place is ok. They have an extensive and varied wine list. This is a great place if you enjoy wine and want to try different kinds. I ordered the crostini with ricotta, brussel sprouts, and tomato. It was just, eh. It didn’t have much flavor. My friend got the salad, which she enjoyed — it looked very fresh. We both ordered the Mushroom Risotto. It was good, but not amazing. The place is adorable and the staff is very attentive and welcoming. I’d return if I’m in the area, but probably would not go out of my way.

Wonderful atmosphere, staff, and great good. The meat and cheese apps are great — pick your own or let the restaurant choose. Good risotto and anything with the sweet Italian sausage.

I stumbled upon this little Italian wine bar and tapas spot before going to my favorite movie theater(amc Loews Lincoln square) since it’s right up the block. Ever since the first time, it has become somewhat of a tradition that I go here before there. You can’t go wrong, they have a concise, to the point menu. Lots of great small plates and shares. Extensive wine menu, great variety. Always a good amount of people, always a good crowd. Definitely feels like the upper west side, but I still love grabbing a table out front in the summertime. It’s a small place, so big groups would be a tight squeeze, but it’s the perfect place to nuzzle up to someone and have an intimate moment over good wine and a quick bite.

Great wine bar in the neighborhood. Happy hour from 4:30 — 6:30, however in general the glasses here are reasonably priced and the selection is great. The food here is excellent, definitely try the meatballs.

Love his place! Delicious food and awesome happy hour deal from 4:30 — 6:30! Half priced wines! The crostinis are my go-to, so yummy! Will definitely be frequenting this place in this quaint UWS location. Also the tiramisu raw is incredible, definitely worth a try!

I was so ANGRY at my NY friends because they had never taken me here before! This place could not have been more delicious and they recommended some fabulous wines as well. The meatballs and burrata crostini were awesome! I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in NY!

A friend and I happened upon this place post-theatre ’round the corner when we were looking for a place to converse and eat dinner. It seemed quite noisy from the outside looking in, so we opted to dine al fresco. I didn’t have much of an appetite so I opted for very light fare; I ordered their black bean soup which was highly recommended by the lovely and attentive hostess. The soup wasn’t terrible, but a bit too salty for my tastes. During our dinner, the owner stopped at our table to greet us and to inquire about our experience and meal. It was a kind and thoughtful gesture and made the overall dining experience a pleasant one.

After a two-star experience during the first thirty minutes of our visit, the group of us, an odd company of four, walked out of there in love with the place and glad we stopped in for a nightcap at 10pm on a Sunday evening. The initial bumps may have just been overwhelmed waiters /servers, they didn’t seem interested in taking our orders at first. But as the night progressed, perhaps lubricated by good company and wine, we found the experience all uphill from there. First and foremost, the wine was super enjoyable — we split two half-bottles of the Nebbiolo and Montepulciano, which were both delicious. We ended on a bottle of white, recommended by our server(who may have been an owner?), who decisively picked a very well priced bottle based on our description of what we wanted. The five for $ 25 meat-and-cheese plate was amazing. Three meats and two cheeses we picked, and I couldn’t decide which was more delicious. At some point, the waitress accidentally poured most of the half-bottle into three glasses as mine had somehow disappeared. She gave me the remaining half-glass left of the bottle, and just as I was nursing my disappointment, came back with an excellent glass of blended red on the house, which more than made up for the honest mistake. She also gave our table tiramisu and coffee dessert which we would have devoured if we weren’t so full of meat, cheese, bread, and wine. It seems they genuinely care about the experience of their customers, and serve some kickass wine to boot. I’ll be back for more.

This pains me. I live 2 blocks away and have enjoyed their outdoor seating for the last 2 years. Though, today changes that. Perhaps, it was a bad day for our server(who I also believe to be the manager). But the utterly RUDE service was completely unwarranted. Even the checking to see if I tipped at the end of the evening was so much that I will not be a patron of this establishment again(of course I did, even for bad service). I would highly recommend the Vanguard for your wine needs.

FLIESEVERYWHERE. Gross. Sat outside at a corner table by the window of the restaurant next door and spent the half hour we sat there swatting dozens of flies. They were all over the wall behind us, crawling on the food on the table next to us and creating an unpleasant nuisance around us. The gentleman who seated us acknowledged the problem with a «yeah, we don’t know why we have so many flies». You expect a little wildlife when you sit outside but the concentration of flies here speaks to a whole other completely disgusting issue. Guys! Consider an outside fan to move the air around or better yet, an exterminator.

What an amazing restaurant and wine bar. I was on my Trader Joes to do some grocery shopping and needed a glass of wine. I stumbled upon this establishment and saw the inviting sign for happy hour that started at 4:30. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. I asked for a Riesling wine but they recommended another white wine which I loved. I ordered the Prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, and pesto Crostini. That was amazing as well. The atmosphere at this restaurant is very chill and inviting. This spot would make for a great date night or even an evening out with the girls. I enjoyed my evening at this spot I wanted to keep this secret in the UWS to myself.

Stopped by a couple of times to have drinks. Nice small place with full bar. Once I tried grilled chicken breast. It was ok, nothing special though. I think there a lot of better places around. Barcibo is not bad but nothing out of this world

This place is a gem of a wine and cocktail bar. Upon entry you’ll find a cute two level space with high top tables and multiple bars to grab your wine, specialty drink, or appetizer. Depending on when you come in it can be pretty crowded here but the staff does a fantastic job of making sure you get a seat quickly and are comfortable while you wait. We had at most a 10 minute wait for a table but were reassured multiple times that a table was on the way. We stopped by here on the hunt for a classier spot to grab a whiskey than the average Irish bar in the neighborhood and Enoteca came through in spades. The cocktail menu had 8 – 10 specialty drinks that offered unique takes on familiar drinks such as old fashioned, gimlets and manhattans with the favorite being the Bumper Car, an old fashioned-type whiskey drink. The wine menu was immense and had enough options to please everyone we were with and the waitresses were quick to come by if a glass seemed empty. Regrettably after seeing all of the delicious food others got, we had already eaten dinner but the next time I stop by I’ll be sure to bring a fully belly to grab a few of the different plates we saw. Whether with a date or friends, for drinks or food, Barcibo is a great option for a more intimate night out.

If there is any reason at all to come to Barcibo, it would be for their wine. The proximity to the Cinema and Lincoln Center also helps if your heart desires a little communion before a theatrical experience. As they did not have the holy of holiest wines, Primitivo, the server recommended a spicy rosso alternative whose name escapes me. It paired well with the fresh ricotta, brussel sprout and herb crostini and the Piave, a hard cow’s milk cheese, we ordered. The sweet sausage with broccoli rabe and gigantes was nice, but not what I expected. The sausage itself had the texture of a kielbasa, when I expected a little grainy, fatty particle action in my mouth. Nevertheless, the meal was satisfying and paired with the ambiance, the sweet hostess and server, it made for a pleasant dining experience. Get the Primitivo back in your wine cofers, per favore.
