This place gets 5 stars all across the board. Let me start off by saying the service is excellent, they are extremely inviting greeting you the moment you step in, attentive, and polite. The food is absolutely amazing, I forgot the name of the burger I had but it had onion rings and country bacon. The food is health conscious as well with organic ingredients which is also a plus. They serve beer and wine so you really can’t go wrong. Even the bathrooms are very clean and smell good being that even good fast food places have gross restrooms.

Delicious burgers and beers. Super convenient for Pace Uni and Financial District. I had the bison Grindhouse, which was amazing. Hubby had Blue Bison and very happy. Sauces and fries were yum, too. Our teenage son built your own Beef, which was great, too. Great atmosphere and staff, too!

Let’s put it simply, the people were so nice, warm, and welcoming. The wine was good and affordable, but the bison burger was incomparable! I’d return in a heart beat and hope others have the same experience.

3 words: BESTSALADEVER!!! I had the guapo chop salad and paid extra to add the grilled lemon chicken. The salad was: fresh, filling, spicy, and flavorful. One problem — the price. The salad ended up coming up to over $ 14 with the chicken added which is a bit steep for a salad even in the financial district. I used a groupon which took $ 10 off but i still don’t think I’ll be able to eat here often. If the price were a little better, I’d be in there everyday! This isn’t a good to-go salad because it requires some assembling but was well worth the added time.

I really enjoy Bareburger! I’ve been to a few locations — The food comes out quick, the establishment is always spotless, and, even though it is fast food, they will clean off the table and get you anything additional you need. This, to me, is a better version of shake shack — and it has more alternatives. It’s weird, though, because they always have cartoon network on the TV’s. Not sure how that became their go-to channel, but not sure that’s directed to the demographic of their customers

Wow. I was expecting this to actually be more like a bar. You order your food up front and there are well lit places to eat. The vegan burger I got was soooo good. The close slaw is made with vegan mayo but they don’t have vegan mayo as a topping. The fries are pretty decent but they get cold quickly. The vegan carrot cake is tasty. :) The real chicken sandwich was also apparently amazing. I’ll be back.

I was there multiple times in June/July during an unexpectedly extended stay when a loved one was hospitalized nearby. As a gluten-free kind-of paleo-style eater, I really appreciated the quality and more humane ethics of grass-fed beef. As someone who watches her weight, I appreciated the calorie information(LOVE the nutrition calculator and interactive nutrition menu on the website — wish this and the William St. location were on an app). There’s enough variety on the menu to keep from getting bored, and pretty much unlimited build-your-own possibilities with lots of great sauces, cheese and topping to choose from. If you’re not in the mood for beef, there are bison, chicken and a couple of meat-free options(I didn’t see any game meat at this location). I never had a bad meal there, though my companions weren’t always as enamoured as I. My husband found the onion rings uninspriting, and one friend thought their«medium» was a bit too on the«rare» side(they remedied it at her request). My favorite meal(out of 8 — 9 visits over 3 weeks) was the Guadalupe on a GF bun with sweet fries. I somehow missed the wasabi carrot slaw, but will be sure to try it out when we’re back in the City next week. The atmosphere at Bareburger is «meh», but when they open the side in the summer it’s a bit better with that urban quasi-al fresco feel. I didn’t really care that there wasn’t table service for ordering; from that point forward, the staff was attentive and I never had to get up to get anything. My one complaint, which isn’t limited to Bareburger but rather applies to much of the restaurant business, is the upcharge for the gluten free bun. Gluten free may seem annoyingly hipster, unless you’re one of the gluten-sensitive(or worse, have celiac disease). I don’t mind paying a fair price for your food and preparation, but to financially penalize me for wanting to enjoy your burgers as traditionally intended(on a bun) without becoming ill for several days seems a bit mercenary.

I came here tonight to get dinner and it happened to be the same time as some breaking news on tv. I asked the server if they could turn Cartoon Network to the tv and she said she’d ask the manager. She walked over to a gentlemen sitting by himself and asked him. She then told me it would get changed when he is done eating. Now onto the meal. I ordered a roadhouse burger in a collared green wrap and it was extremely sub par for the $ 12 and change it costs. I used to love bare burger but I feel they have really scaled back on their portions. The collared greens are very difficult to eat as well as a burger substitute. When my girlfriend reminded the server that she ordered a water, the server explained that they«always forget because they’re in love». Now that the managers meal is over I’ve been waiting for the news to come on. It still isn’t. I think I’ll head home now. Don’t come here for customer service.

Lapin and I passed by here on our way to the subway. It was pretty much out of the way and hard to find if you are not used to the area. Unlike, the other Bareburger I been too, this one didn’t have waiter service. Upon entry, you would go to the staff behind the bar and they would ask if you are picking up or staying in. After ordering, they would give you a pod that would vibrate when your order was ready. Originally, we were going to sit in but decided we would take our order to go. Lapin ordered the backyard brisket($ 11.15) and enjoyed it. He probably wolfed it down in five seconds. He preferred this sandwich over bison he got last time. After making a scandalous mess the last time I had a sandwich, I went with the chicken tenders(6pc for $ 9.85) route. They were crunchy even after reheating them but they were dry first time around though. We also ordered rings and fries($ 8.95) to share. Without a doubt, the onion rings were the more tastier option between the two. We ordered two strawberry lemonades($ 2.95) which was okay, had a bit of «tart bite». The service was truly remarkable. The cashier and the guy who bought our order was extremely nice and polite. Even when we stood to the corner huddle over the menu deciding what to order they offered to give us suggestions.

We heard about this place from a recommendation of one of our co-workers. They offer burgers made from semi-wild animals such as bison, elk, wild boar, and ostrich. They combine the meat with fresh vegetables and aromatic cheeses and garnishes. It’s another step forward in the fast-casual trend that is taking over America(or at least New York City). On a cloudy Saturday afternoon, the two of us and a friend headed over to the City Hall location near Pace University. Dog was full of anticipation. Would he try elk, bison, ostrich, or all three? Bug and the friend were more hesitant. After all, we all rarely ventured far beyond the safe boundaries of beef, pork and chicken for our land meat needs(We are all more adventurous with seafood, however). We went in and were kind of disappointed. At this particular location, they only had bison, beef, chicken, and turkey on their menu. Where were the elk, ostrich, and wild boar? Maybe they did market research and found that residents and tourists in the area weren’t too amused to see zoo animals on the menu. Or maybe they had sourcing issues. Too bad for us. We were going to debate the plusses and minuses of each type of meat. Anyway, they may have upgraded the menu to include the previously excluded meats since we visited a couple of months ago. So we each ordered a bison burger and a fountain drink, with a shared side of onion rings and sweet potato fries. Bug got the burger with mushroom and onions(1st picture above). Dog got the burger with hot peppers(2nd picture above). The friend got the burger with the Monterey Jack cheese(below). The bison patties that we got were delicious. They were fried with the right amount of char that made the burger crispy at the edges, yet soft in the center. The cheese, bread, and toppings rounded out the burger nicely. The only slight negative was that the meat was leaner and a bit drier than what we were used to in a beef patty. All in all, it’s a great burger. The total bill came out to be about $ 20 per person after tax, which is pretty steep for a fast food restaurant. For a quick burger fix that hits the spot, we recommend Shake Shack. Their burgers are cheaper and just as tasty. However, we will be coming back to Bareburger. Dog isn’t satisfied until he has tried the elk, ostrich, and wild boar burgers. No wi-fi :( I only come here for lunch takeout, which unfortunately is not during the time they have specials(I think the specials are 2 – 6). Great burgers and salads. I try to only eat hormone free beef so am glad to have Bareburger as an option in the area. I like the veg and turkey burger options, as well as bison, as an alternative to beef. Wish they weren’t so pricey. Otherwise I would add a protein to my salads or get a side with my burger. PS I do not like their ketchup!

Ok, I had Bareburger for the first time yesterday so here’s my take on it: The burgers are good. I had the Supreme burger and wasn’t disappointed. It wasn’t the best tasting burger I’ve ever had, but I did enjoy chowing down on it. I highly recommend it, especially if intoxicated. I also ordered the regular fries as well and it had no flavor in it. You had to season it yourself, but even with the added salt, black peppers and organic ketchup it was still pretty bland. Avoid it. Their lemonade tasted more like water with a hint of lemon. If you like your lemonade sweet then I suggest you either avoid it or ask for some sugar packets. I honestly would give this place 3 stars, but the staff was pretty chill. I had a friend who was passed out in a separate table(courtesy of alcohol) and the manager was pretty cool about it. He approached us and ask if he was with us and left when we said yea. Granted, this was on a slow Saturday night; highly doubt they’ll let that slide on a busy day. And they allowed my friends to eat their Chipotle there too. So the staff is pretty cool in my book for that. Overall, it’s a decent place. If you want a good burger then this place is for you. Just avoid the fries. They also serve beer here but I’ve never tried it. I spent $ 20 for a burger, fries, and drink. If you think that’s too much then save your money for something else.

Somethings make you innocent and others make you play devil’s advocate. This is bareburger. Each time I come here I say«Jana, just get a salad and a water». Then of course… Jana chooses a greasy sandwich/burger with some deep fried fries/onion rings and a damn milkshake. Like SHEESH! And each and every time Jana’s tummy is satisfied and her money is well spent. I get full from this place easily and I literally have to eat the food hours apart because I find it to be a bit much. I love the food here though, I just can’t indulge in it too often. I gotta keep my sexy you know…

This particular Bareburger suffers from an unfair situation; basically, in a vacuum, this place is great.(Relatively) cheap burgers, fast/friendly/efficient service, tongue-in-cheek«bear» memorabilia adorning the walls… a great addition to the scant selection of food options in the Financial District. While I could turn a blind eye to this aforementioned«unfair situation…», Imma say«f**k that.» If you haven’t chanced a guess as to what this situation could possibly be, it’s this: This Bareburger must be compared to all the quality Bareburgers peppered throughout this city. That being said, the word Bareburger is a name brand, so I expect a certain quality to a Bareburger brand burger. Say what you will about McDonald’s, but they’ve got one thing going, and that’s consistency(a consistently cheap and wholly unnutritional, but SAMETASTING/SIZE/PRICE, et cetera et cetera). Take the Bareburger moniker off this joint, and the expectations go down, and this is a decent burger joint. And with that handle, I expect big juicy patties, super crispy fries w/a slew of dipping sauces… a completely justifiable supposition if I’m not way too up my own @ss right now, yeah? However, I ordered a supreme here(adj — «superior to all other»), and after all the bells and whistles in the form of an overly large slice(and not too crispy) onion ring skewered to the top of my bun, I observed a noticeably flatter bun sandwiching an anemic(relative to what I expect) burger patty. No wonder they didn’t ask me at the order station(as opposed to a sit down order type situation) how I want my burger cooked(rare). You shouldn’t be able to fit a Bareburger sandwich in your mouth(if it’s my size)… and this one fit, easily. The disappointment, but at least the fries were OK, right!!! Serviceable fries… but the Bareburger chain isn’t in the business of providing«serviceable fries» amiright? Handcut potatoes to be sure, and at first glacé, a deadringer for what I’ve grown to expect. They came sans the traditional dipping sauces, and(perhaps it was an off-day on the fryer) came nowhere to the crispness that make them fun to eat. One note texture in two ways; either not crispy, or just crispy… not that conflicting dichotomy of crispy outside with soft fluffly potato inside. Again, expectations got the best of me. Like they say, «if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck… then it’s a duck.» In this unfortunate scenario, they call it a Bareburger(duck), and heck… it looks like a Bareburger(duck)… but the product just isn’t Bareburger. I’ll come back again I’m sure, so step it up for crissakes or change your name to «Not Exactly Bareburger… but Close.»

After all of the fanfare about Bareburger I was very underwhelmed by my meal — the burger, especially. There was no wow factor that could make me understand why and how Bareburger has become so popular. The photos on the website are misleading. The patty was slim and dry(not cooked medium, per request), the fries were meh and the onion rings didn’t do anything for me. I will have to try out another location to restore my faith in the general public; so many people can’t possibly be wrong about the supposed deliciousness of a Bareburger, right?! First off, the servers were very pleasant but seemed to have a difficult time explaining the Groupon offer. I was more confused after their attempt to articulate what it included. Here’s a simple breakdown: The $ 20 groupon gets you four $ 10 vouchers good for each time you visit. The second option is $ 14 for $ 26 worth of food for two people. Easy breezy. I ordered the Supreme Burger which is topped with colby cheese, bacon, onions rings, chopped fries and special sauce on a brioche bun. Despite all of these toppings the burger underperformed, and after I ate it I wished I’d been good and saved myself the calories. My vegetarian friend initially ordered the Farmstead Burger(sweet potato & wild rice, cauliflower hummus, tomatoes, baby kale, wrapped in collard greens). She took a few bites and sent it back. She ordered the Guadalupe Burger next(black bean, pickled red onions, tomatoes, alfalfa, guacamole & sprout bun) and picked over her food. Now this is a new friend so I’m not sure if she is unusually picky but at the end of the day she also didn’t enjoy her meal. Notwithstanding my friend’s dissatisfaction, the staff was very accommodating and polite. My friend had made a mess of her plate(cutting things in pieces but not actually eating anything), but the waitress was still understanding, coming over to take my friend’s plate away and offering an alternative. She made sure to refer other dishes like their salad and tried to understand what it was my friend didn’t like about the food. I appreciate the considerate customer service, even if we weren’t in love with the food.

First time here, the cashier was very helpful. Ordered the Matador, the Pickle Fried Chicken sandwich, and a large order of fries. The also have a special: County Fair burger, soda and fries for only $ 10.95. The burger was tasty, but the chicken sandwich was excellent. 2 large panko fried breasts(ask for this, instead of the buttermilk) with horseradish sauce and sweet pickles on a brioche bun. Quite enough food for 2 people, at $ 27. They offer free water, but no Hot sauce(buffalo is available in tiny to-go ramekins if you ask). Why 3 stars? While we were eating, there were about five employees sitting on chairs, who I believe were either on break or ending their shift. I’m all for work camaraderie, but this group was loud and some were out of uniform, and honestly disruptive. I watched as 2 employees actually made fun of an unbeknownst customer. I also witnessed another customer approach the group to ask a question, only to be ignored. I actually heard one of Bareburger’s employees say off-handedly«we’re not on the clock» as the customer went to find someone else. I enjoyed the food, but the environment kind of killed the experience. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so I’m ok with employees hanging out, but this situation just felt flat out hostile. The assistant managers were present, but didn’t seem to notice. Wouldn’t return to this location, unfortunately.

While I’m not a fan of the location… and my lazy American self wishes they did full table service like some of the other franchises… the personnel really push this 3.5-star experience into the 4-star zone! Really like the menu board with the refrigerator magnets! Clean. Open feel. Ample seating. Really solid food across the board. Wish I’d gotten the El Matador medium rare… but they solidly nailed their default medium cook on both of our burgers. Really solid for the price! Awesome onion rings, yummy(and plentiful!) hand cut fries, likes all four sauces, and wanted to marry the curry ginger ketchup! Literally moaned with every ketchupy bite!!! That Hot Honey Shake is where it is at! And very solid tap beers. Our one runner was a BIT over attentive… but cut back once we both gave surprised side eye. Register staff were awesome and fun… manager was cool… one even waited to hold the door for us when he thought we were headed out the door. THAT’S what I’m talking about! If you’re the 911 Memorial/FiDi area… check ‘em out!

If you want cheap burgers then go to McDonalds but if you want quality burgers then Bareburger is truly the place to be! I have to say their service is excellent. Came here last night to use my groupon and I didn’t get snickered for using the deal. Instead, I was greeted with a very friendly smile. I ended up ordering their Buckaroo and Grindhouse burger and instead of using one of their buns I opted for their collar green wrap and geez was it delicious. Initially, I was just going to bring it home but decided to take a quick bite of each burger before heading out. Though once I took a bite of it, I couldn’t stop. It was so unreal and before I knew it, I ate half of both burgers. It was that GOOD!!! With or without the groupon, this place has won my heart and they can expect me to come back again. This location is also great and the staff and vibe is wonderful. I definitely recommend Bearburger to anyone that is looking for a healthy option to «junk food»!!

Groupon had a deal, and I snagged it($ 20 for $ 40 Worth of stuff). I have heard some good things about Bareburger, but never have a chance to try it. Ordered the County Fair, cooked medium. They give you a vibrating beeper when your food is ready. You can either take out to go or find a place to sit anywhere you choose. Burger tasted pretty fresh, no blood vessel veins or unknown fat in the beef. Beef tasted very well grinded and blended. The patty itself didn’t seem to have much flavor, I had to ask for some sauce on the side to give it a kick. Had the jalapeño mayo which helped a bit and made my mouth water a bit after smoothering it on my burger. Would I come back? Not really. Why? It’s pretty pricey for a $ 10+ burger that comes without a drink and fries. If you were to order a whole meal: burger, fries and a drink, that will run you about $ 20. Yes organic comes at a price.
