Absolutely HORRIBLE. I mean, the WORST!!! Do not order from this place. Are they even still in business? If so, they are the worst business people ever. FLAKES!!! I placed an order on Seamless yesterday afternoon for breakfast catering for 12 people. Tried calling a bit later to confirm with Austin’s, but got no answer. I figured, okay no big deal… they might close after lunch so I’ll call in the AM. I started calling just before 7AM, still no answer… WTF!!! I then called Seamless who tried and tried getting hold of them to no Avail. I had no choice but to cancel my order with less than 2 hours to go before a VIP client meeting. THANKGOD I found another place who could pull something together in time. Serously, DON’T GOHERE! DON’T DOIT!!! They really screwed me over!!!

Quite possibly the worst egg salad sandwich I have ever tasted. I cant even begin to describe what it tasted like, maybe the overwhelming vinegar taste was to cover up the week old eggs, or maybe something else was just awry, either way dont bother with this place, there are plenty of sandwich shops in within a block

Do not order from Austin Café. They delivered a sandwich that I definitely did not order. These sandwiches had all sorts of nuts that I am allergic to and could not eat. I called to tell them they probably had the wrong food delivered. They went on to yell at me saying I just ‘need to f**g take them out’. They also refused to remake the order or compensate me.

I ordered a panini and it was soggy and pasty as if it was a week old. Yuck. I don’t mind the long wait for good food but waiting 1.5 hours for inedible food is not OK

Horrible. Just ordered a Sicilian panini, and got a disgusting thing that only had 1 or 2 of the correct ingredients. Supermarket ham instead of prosciutto, weird processed cheese instead of mozzarella, mayo? instead of balsamic. No arugula. Like people wouldn’t notice?

Most disgusting chicken noodle soup I’ve ever had. Couldn’t stomach more than two spoon fulls. Thick like a stew and the chicken tasted off. Just gross!

Ordered delivery via . I have to say… I order delivery pretty regularly and I have never had food arrive hotter than it did from Austin’s café. The delivery was quick(about 30 min, though GH estimated 50). A little crazy with the peppers though, for my taste. I got a vegetable lasagna w side of corn(i had to choose SOMEthing!) and a small salad. There were big chunks of green peppers in the salad, big chunks of red pepper in the corn and the veggie lasagna was also wrought with green chunks. But the flavor of everything was really good and the price was great. $ 7.99 for veggie lasagna w/corn and salad. Not bad at all for NYC.

It is cheap! Which is great for Midtown and almost impossible to find. I had an egg-salad sandwich which was fresh and delicious and a coup of freshly squeezed orange juice. It was also very good. I got what I wanted.

DONTGOTHERE. i have never seen a place this horrible. i usually dont write bad reviews but i feel like i need to warn you. i went there today with my friends for lunch and the service was horrible, i have never been treated so poorly at ANY place. the guy behind the cashier was incredibly rude the whole time and the food was mediocre at best. the tables were dirty and the staff didnt look like they would think of cleaning them for us. it was a disgustuing experience all over. my friend ordered a sandwich and the guy even pointed to it but then served her a wrap. when we told him about the mistake he insulted us(with his very bad english) and said we were lying and in the end he wanted us to pay for the wrap too even though we never ordered OR ate it. i have never experienced something so insulting in this neighborhood! RUDERUDERUDE. worst place i have ever been too in nyc so far.

I’ve never written a review before because I haven’t been inclined, however this place was truly vile. DONOTORDER! I feel sick. When the food finally came(2hrs), it was cold, soggy and looked like it had rolled down 3rd ave. The top of my coffee was tin foil which only facilitated the defiling of what should have been a pretty simple sandwich. DONOTORDER!

This place is hurting. Delis all over including the same intersection that crush this place. Over priced garbage. We live in 10 park avenue building. Austin’s is ground floor. Ordered an omelette this week. $ 5 and it was legit two bites. I have avoided posting on Unilocal till now but I had to because this place is pathetic. Check out my picture of this omlette and you will see first hand. To be clear, I hadn’t taken one bite and this is what I received.

Ordered delivery from here via seamless. We ordered the Chicken Parmgiana Panini and the Smoked Turkey Panini. Pros — Only $ 5 delivery minimum Cons — Slow delivery. The food showed up about 40 minutes after delivery(estimate was 15 to 30 minutes). — Chicken Parmigiana Panini was cold, Smoked Turkey Panini was lukewarm — Smoked Turkey Panini was missing Avocado — chicken in the chicken panini was dry

Not good. The soup was bland and egg salad was gross! Good prices, but id rather spend more to get decent food. The place was packed though, so maybe I just ordered the wrong items.

Stopped by for a fresh bagel, cream cheese, and cup of coffee while en route to do more shoppping on 34th street. Relaxed at a table near the window with some great people watching. Clean place, clean food, courteous service, good prices.

Why I was having a bad day: –The Steelers lost the Superbowl –I had to go to the DMV –I had a hangover What I needed: –A strong cup of coffee –A delicious bagel & cream cheese –A place on the way to the DMV What I got: –Burnt coffee, nearly undrinkable if I weren’t so desperate for caffeine –A hardly toasted, mediocre bagel –No strawberry cream cheese — got veggie cream cheese but had hardly any veggies and tasted like it’d been sitting out all day –A cashier with an accent so thick I couldn’t understand a damn thing she was saying(I know that’s not very PC but it was annoying nonetheless) I then walked down 34th street to head to the DMV when the cheap piece of shit coffee cup they used completely fell apart in my hand, spilling hot coffee down my coat. Ugh. Never, ever again.

I walk past it every day on my way to work. Today I decided to stop in and grab a breakfast sandwich. The kitchen was very clean– and it seemed to be pretty packed for a tiny café on the east side. The service was very quick, and their coffee is amazing. What is it with NY deli’s not having toaster ovens!!! This is the second time I’ve ordered a toasted piece of bread and not received just that. It’s turning me into a toaster-Nazi. I might come back for the coffee, and fruit which looked very fresh. Everyone seemed to be walking out with an egg sandwich of some sort and a fruit cup. I should have followed their lead!
