Sushi is not fresh anymore and unsure why the food quality and taste has been decreasing. I now order from Momoya which is pricier but worth it.

I really love Amaze! The waitstaff is incredibly kind and they work really hard to make sure that the customers are happy. The sushi is really good, along with the szechuan dumplings and crab rangoon for appetizers. I also enjoy the happy hour deals, which go until 9pm, and 30% off dine-in meals on Mondays. The only reason I am not giving the restaurant 5 stars is because some of the chairs, particularly by the window, are coming undone and need to be replaced. Otherwise, great deals and great food!

B rated restaurant with terrible food. I ordered the General Tso’s lunch special and the chicken was too tough to chew. I’m not even sure there was any chicken or if it was just overfried batter. The rice was under cooked. How do you mess up rice? I don’t even know what was in the hot and sour soup because it tasted funky. Ugh. this place is so gross.

Can I give ZERO stars? Opened my delivery sushi box and ROACHES crawled out. Never have I ever… wtf. DISGUSTING.

I’ve had takeout from here on a number of occasions, thinking each bad experience I had was just an off-night, but now it’s been far too many to give them another chance. Honestly, it’s just a bad restaurant. Most importantly, the sushi is horrible, and on the last occasion the seaweed salad got me sick. It doesn’t help that every time I walk in it’s almost as if it’s an annoyance that I’m there to take out. A manager(or some employee) always has paperwork spread out in the middle out the bar. Take the time to walk the extra block for a different place if you’re craving sushi. This doesn’t even cut it to satisfy a craving — it’s not good.

Terrible. If you are looking for cold soup, and warm sushi that isn’t even the correct roll, this is your place. If you enjoy food that tastes good, try somewhere else. When i pointed out that my soup was cold, I was told«its not my fault». Well its certainly not my fault, and frankly i don’t give a shit who’s fault it is, I just want a hot cup of soup… we never got that far though, because the girl was too concerned with making it clear that it wasn’t her fault that my order was wrong and my soup was cold and my «fresh sushi» was warm. I look forward to seeing the next place to open in this series of failed Japanese restaurants.

Went there for a quick Eel roll and some yellow tail, wanted to be in and out. I sat at the sushi bar. The person behind the sushi bar, seemed like a hostess type, had no clue what was going on and did not take my order. There was one waiter with two tables that was talking to one of the tables, not about ordering. I tried to communicate to the young lady that I am in a little of a hurry. She seemed intimidated to ask the waiter to help me. There were also two sushi chefs working and 3 cooks eating in the dining room. The décor is well worn. The service was abysmal. The sushi was fair, nothing notable. My assessment is the staff is in dire need of training. If you don’t order the lunch special the hand roll and one yellowtail was expensive for just barely so-so sushi.

DONOTORDERFROMHERE. THEYDON’T CAREATALLABOUTTHEIRCUSTOMERS! TRASHCUSTOMERSERVICE! I have been ordering from them since Sushi Hana first opened. Ever since they changed to Amaze, they have treated me like dirt. I always order the Tonkatsu dish, and they forgot the tonkatsu sauce not once, not twice, but THREETIMES. The first two times, I let it slide. On the third order that I just got today, I specifically wrote in the notes, «PLEASEDON’T FORGETTHEKATSUSAUCEAGAIN!» When the order arrived, they gave me 4 soy sauces and 0 katsu sauce. THISISTHEWORSTPART. I called them back to complain and asked for a refund, and they bounced me around to talk to various people. Finally, they gave me a number to call their«General Manager» who is completely incompetent herself. I told her about the problem, and she said, «WECAN’T GIVEYOU A REFUNDFORTHEFOOD, BUTWEWILLREFUNDYOUFORTHESAUCE.» SHESAIDSHEWOULDREFUNDMEFORTHECOSTOFTHEFREESAUCE. I asked her for any other compensation, as this was the 3rd time this happened, and she said there was nothing she could do about it. TRASHCUSTOMERSERVICE. TRASHCUSTOMERSERVICE. TRASHCUSTOMERSERVICE!

I really like this place, so I’m a little confused about all the bad reviews about the food! I’ve ordered from Seamless three times, and delivery has been prompt and the food was hot. I love the crispy white sesame chicken and that’s all I’ve ever ordered.(I don’t eat sushi — maybe that’s why I haven’t had the experience other people had…)

Ok, mixed reviews here. My wife and I ordered takeout. She ordered vegetable curry with hot and sour soup. She said the curry was more less flavorless. She said hers, «sucked». I ordered the beef negimaki and though it was really good. Mine came with 3 or 4 shrimp dumplings, 6 piece california roll, beef teriyaki with vegetable, soup and salad. The portion was huge. I would order the bento box for lunch again. One side note, we ordered and it took over an hour for it to be delivered. When finally called and the restaurant said, «Your food left for delivery a long time ago»…

Amaze 82 has great brunch specials! They offer a wide assortment of Asian food and excellent service. Tasty and cost affective– so be prepared to be amazed by Amaze!

Two thumbs down for the food :( We ordered the Sushi for 2 and the Kung Pao Chicken. Complimentary salad. Sushi for 2 — nothing on the plate was fresh. The tuna was so bad I had to douse it with soy sauce to eat it. The yellowtail was okay, but again not fresh. The only thing on that plate that was decently okay was the spicy tuna roll, but you really can’t mess up a spicy roll – just make it super spicy and it will pass. The salmon was the worst… it was so tough, pretty much had to rip through it. The rice was seasoned too much with vinegar. Kung Pao Chicken — flavoring was good, but where’s the chicken? All we had was deep fried batter. I think the kitchen staff didn’t realize cutting the chicken paper thin is detrimental to this dish. No matter how good the service is, if the food is bad… we won’t be back.

Tasty sushi. Great lunch specials. I would have given 5 stars if the rice was cooked more perfectly. I think this is one of the top reasonably priced sushi spots I’ve been to. For $ 10 lunch special you get an appetizer, soup/salad, 2 makis, and saki/wine I think they’re sushi(nigiri) is better than the maki rolls. But I still think the makis are very good. Great way to enjoy sushi at a good price.

Review is for delivery only, so I can’t comment on the service, décor, etc. that you experience when dining in. I’ve also only ordered sushi + bento boxes, so I can’t comment on anything else. Delivery time is always on point with the Seamless estimate. Food is decent. Delivery sushi is always hit or miss, and I haven’t been dissatisfied. Not the best sushi in the world, but certainly good enough and at reasonable prices. They forgot one piece of sashimi in my last order, but they didn’t charge me for it either, so I guess no harm, no foul.

Two stars solely for the service. My GF and I came in for lunch just before a movie, and ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered Malaysian curry chicken and she ordered Thai red curry with chicken. Appetizers were alright — wonton soup and hot & sour soup, Japanese spring rolls, and edamame all came out quickly and were tasty enough. Rice served with the main dishes was sushi rice, which I didn’t really mind, but which did seem a bit odd. The wine included in the lunch special came out with the entrées, and was of the quality you’d expect of complementary wine. The entrées, however, were not edible. My expectations are pretty low with lunch specials, and I’ll eat pretty much anything, but here’s what’s wrong with what we ordered: Malaysian curry — sauce was dry, potatoes were a microwaved consistency, and the chicken was slimy, rubbery, and tasted undercooked. I ate 1.5 pieces of potato, 1 mini corn, 1 piece of okra, and 1 piece of chicken. Awful. Thai red curry — included a couple deflated pieces of fried tofu, the eggplant tasted like shrimp, chicken was the same awful consistency and doneness, the entire dish was leukwarm and lacking in curry flavor. Also awful. To his credit, the server asked if our food was okay, but we didn’t have the time to send the dishes back or request substitutes.

The sauce on the rock shrimp roll was terrible. While prices for lunch are really good, they price the menu so that for dinner you can’t eat affordably. My advice: don’t eat-in here. Use it for takeout, and takeout for lunch. In that case, stick to your more usual stuff(california roll etc.).

Great lunch spot, with an even better lunch special! Cheap and quick eats. The sushi was pretty average as was the tempura bento and that is A-OK with me. They do have a rock shrimp roll that was pretty awesome. The nice waiter worked pretty hard and efficiently.

The staff was nice, the sushi was fresh and affordable. I had maki and some sashimi and everything tasted very good. The wine is inexpensive. It is always nice to find one of those middle of the road sushi places that is good and this is one of them.

This is in the same place as Sushi Hana, as far as Unilocal is concerned I don’t even think Amaze exists yet! Not sure if its the same owners and operation though as I hadn’t visited Hana, but I’ll say the old name felt a little more authentic than the cheesy fusion style«Amaze» suggests… More important than all that is the food though right? I’ve only ever been for pick-up during the work day, and my orders have always been incredibly fresh and fast. The lunch specials are reasonable and taste great, $ 8 for two rolls and a soup or salad and not much more for a three roll combo. The dine-in lunch crowd is practically non-existent, but they seem to have some specials when you eat in for lunch, so may be worth checking out if you have the time to sit.
