Good food and right around the corner from my school, cant complain too much. The roast beef with the russian dressing is great. Very quick and cheap enough for the city except for halaal. I do wish they toasted the bread.

I’ve been here several times during lunch(I work nearby), every time I feel like getting a salad. The ingredients here are much fresher than what I can get from my work cafeteria, so it is worth the short walk. I’ve been here during prime lunch hours, but the workers here are quite efficient(at least with the salad line). They are also no frills and seem somewhat miserable, but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying my food.

This little deli is pretty nondescript and easy to walk past without giving a second thought(I go to school across the street and it took me five months to check it out) but it has become one of my favorite places in the area. I probably get lunch there at least once a week. They serve great sandwiches and salads but also carry the kinds of things a convenience store would– drinks, snacks, band aids, candy, etc. The staff is SUPER friendly and fast. The sandwiches are my go to, they’re not too pricey(about 7 dollars) and are big enough to feed two people. And they taste amazing. They carry a selection of great tasting meats and have a strong menu of tasty and unique combinations.

Not sure it’d still be here but for the college crowd. Better off around the corner at Melissa’s. Fillipino-looking girl at the counter clearly hates working there and makes sure it comes off that way.

Good sandwiches in a convenient location for a good price. The bread is fresh and so are the toppings. Nothing spectacular but if you’re in the neighborhood this is a good option for lunch.

Very poor service and attitude. Seems ok on Saturday mornings but the evening people are caustic Indian types. Don’t expect delivery to be correct and if you ask them to send the right items they’ll expect another tip. You will not get an apology just a rude surly Indian kid wanting another 5 tip. Food iffy.

Wow, that #5(chicken cutlet, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo) sandwich really hit the spot for me. I would come back here regularly just for that sandwich alone. Haven’t really tried much else from the store. I did pick up one of their donuts one day. It wasn’t spectacular but not bad either. The prices, particularly the sandwiches, are fairly cheap. Seven dollars for a sizable sandwich that is tasty is A-okay with me. Definitely see my self coming back here quite often!

Like many other reviewers, I attend Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus. This is a nice place to grab a nice sandwich and/or a healthy salad for a decent price. The salads are pretty sizable, and the sandwiches are tasty. They use Boars Head deli meats and the other toppings they use are usually nice and fresh(I don’t go later on in the day, so I’m not sure how the toppings are then!). Plus, Fordham students are not charged tax when they show their ID cards. However, this place gets crowded after 12 — if I get out of class early, I always try to run to this place before the lunch rush hour hits. I knocked one star off because I have had a rude encounter with one of the cashiers before. I always try to avoid that cashier :/

I’ve walked by this little store many times in the the past six months. I went in there for lunch during my weekend course at school, this past weekend and I can’t stop going in there – 3 out of the last 4 days I had class. I’ve posted a couple of pics of their menu for you see the choices. Their sandwiches are huge, but their quality it what sets them apart. If you hungry for a filling sandwich or freshly made deli items, this is the spot for you. It’s located across the street from Fordham and stays open until midnight.

I work at a college in the area and my entire office boycotts Alan’s because of their poor service. The staff is probably by far the most miserable people on the planet. I get it– it’s not a glamorous job, but you signed up for it. Don’t be a a-hole to your paying consumers. Also, they are really shady about their specials. I once ordered a breakfast sandwich on the specials list, but i didnt say the word«special» in my order… so they tried to charge me full price instead of the special… ridiculous.

I used to order from here everyday. But in the last few weeks their salad has been wet and wilted. After the third salad of the week arriving that way I called and have them bring another one. That was also rotten. So sad! Decided to order a wrap thinking maybe it’s just the salad. It was horrible. The chicken wasn’t even real chicken breast, it was deli meat cut in chunks. The only plus is they deliver fast.

I love Alan’s! The sandwiches are great(I like number 5 and number 17!) and so are their salads and bagels. The service is friendly and the woman who works in the afternoon is a baller. I feel better knowing Alan’s is just around the corner and is always there for me both nutritionally and emotionally. You can find everything from ice cream to cake mix to love at Alan’s! 10⁄10 would recommend.

First things first: my poor rating is not based on their food. There is a specific salad and sandwich I get all the time(I work a block away so it’s really convenient) and am usually satisfied. One of the main reasons I would go is that they have a frequent buyer punch-card system that is a nice motivation when you’re on a budget to be rewarded for your deli loyalty. My coworkers have always complained about how they boycott Alan’s because the staff is so tirelessly rude, they’ve found hairs in their food, etc. I had yet to have that problem… until today. I was cashing out when I asked for a new punch card after redeeming my free salad last week. The cashier replied that they didn’t have them. I asked if I could have her sign my receipt so I could get a punch next time if the cards were back in stock(Whichcraft normally offers to do this when they are out of punch cards) and she very nastily responded«ITDOESN’T WORKTHATWAY!» She starts loudly grunting and complaining«DOYOUHEARTHISGIRL? SHESDRIVINGMECRAZYWHATISHERPROBLEM???» and ranting and raving about me to another customer RIGHTNEXTTOMEATTHEREGISTER. I’m a VERY loyal and polite customer who gives this business my money at least once a week, sometimes 2 – 3 times on a week I was too busy to go grocery shopping for the last 3 years. I’ve worked in the service industry for many years so I totally understand how small things can be frustrating on a day that you’re busy or just tired but customer service is essentially the #1 part of your job. At least wait until I leave the store to start complaining about how«annoying» it was that I asked for a frequent-buyer card. It’s going to be really hard to go in there again and face the cashier again after how nasty she was so I will probably have to find a new lunch spot in the area. Huge bummer.

This place is great for sandwiches. It is conveniently located near Fordham University Lincoln Center location. I have been a few times with friends and highly recommend it. Generally, I order the same sandwich, I’ve tried a couple other choices. Today was an off day for them, very disappointed with the service and the veggie patty sandwich.(My usual order) The sandwich maker needs to work on preparation skills. The sandwich was extremely hot, and he got alittle condiment happy. Normally it is prepared with more care. Cashier comes off rude, don’t take it personal she seems like she hates her job on the reg!

I go in there and get the same thing every time: A turkey and provolone on a roll with lettuce tomatoe and mustard. Its certainly one of the best sandwiches I’ve eaten in Manhattan. If you are up that way. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in for a bite.

Amazing salads!!! I’m very picky with my salads and this place is truly the best I’ve had. I could eat them everyday !! Show your student ID for a discount. I’ve had the wraps which was good but I keep going back for the salads with the balsamic vinaigrette. I live in Queens and will take a ride out just for my salad fix. Keep doing what you are doing. This review is based on my mixed spring salad with my select toppings. Hasn’t failed me at all.

Four stars for the quality-to-price ratio. They’ve got a really no-frills salad bar, but everything in it is fresh and tasty. And what makes it really stand out in this neighborhood is that you can put together a filling and healthy lunch for less than $ 7(their small salad, if you choose bulky protein-y toppings)!

Not a lot of normal lunch places to eat at while at the Lincoln Center. And in my situation where things were non-stop during Fashion week – we are talking 30 minutes for lunch tops. So that is why I love this deli so! Right across the street practically from the venue there is this place that has every juice, NONDIET soda, chips, sandwiches, salads, hot breakfast; you can name. And it wasn’t crowded. Since I happened to like these girls I was working with, I revealed my hidden treasure, and the 4 of us went here for lunch and took it back to the trailer. There are no seats in this place, but they have veggie burgers, turkey burgers, and all deli classic sandwiches. I did a turkey club and it was very good. The prices are reasonable and it’s a nice little walk to get away from all the hustle and bustle that is taking place around The Lincoln Center.

Co-workers brought me here today, raving about the salads. And about an hour after finishing my salad, I am now on Unilocal, raving about the salads. Great place — nice salad options — great prices. The only thing I would say is that it can be a bit confusing to figure out how the lines work(I guess one line is for hot foods, and another line is for salads), and, the menu board is a bit tricky to read.(I was never sure if I was buying my salad by weight, or by unit.) All that said, I thought the price was fair, and, my salad was delicious.

Getting fat never looked so good. Everyone always raves about the sandwiches, but what about those heavenly lunch platters? I won’t turn down their delicious smoked turkey & bacon sandwich(the infamous #7) but I much prefer to spend $ 5.95 on their hefty lunch platters which has hold a delectable combination of rice, meat and vegetables. If you’re lucky to try their red beans and yellow rice with baked chicken, you will not be disappointed. Mmm. Also, what’s with all the attractive Fordham guys coming in all the time, making deep eye contact with innocent girls like myself? So, so worth it. The service is fast(not the happiest but hey, you can’t have everything, and I have yet to experience explicit rudeness… yet). And if it’s close to your work, you have no choice but to love it.
