Could some one please tell me how to get in touch with the pastry chef? I would love to order some of the desserts– I know the place is closed — -but if anyone knows how to make the desserts I would pay for classes! Missing the snickers pie!!!

Love the food but where are you guys? You reopened for awhile and the last few weeks you’ve been closed again. After the shenanigans last year, I’m sure I’m not the only one whose begun to get suspicious you’re closing again… but I’m trying to remain hopeful. I just know I’d appreciate some info on your new hours or closure days. I walk from work at least once a week to check, only to discover you’re closed(again), and honestly that’s annoying. Can’t you update your blog? Post a note to your Twitter or Facebook? I know you have all these resources, and it only takes a second. I’d be much more sympathetic if you posted that maybe you just can’t afford to have regular hours right now, but I’m giving up trying to visit until you do.

The salads here are amazing, and I am happy they re-opened but the portions are HUGE. 2 girls could easily share a salad. So why not make the salads 50% smaller and charge 25% less? The food and drinks are delicious. The service is SO awful, slow, inattentive, its always like you are bothering whoever it is working there and I have seen them put uncovered prepared salads on top of the fridge or in weird places. If they were more timely and efficient I would go here on my lunch break but unfortunately you cant really rely on them to get you a smoothie in under 15 minutes so.

Food is good. Drinks are better. Service is unfriendly. My biggest negative for this place is that it’s a vegan spot. which usually entails all aspects of being healthy and green. However the use of disposable plastic boxes is SUPER upsetting. Most vegan spots I hit up, will have cardboard«Brown items» boxes that can be properly disposed. This place doesn’t seem genuine for being what it is. Ya kno?

A green apple juice and lemon square cost me $ 20!!! It’s ridiculous pricing for so little food… I understand that eating healthy comes at a cost but this is beyond reason!

I have given the place a poor review before, and after not being there for a while I have returned and was pleasantly surprised — what I was unhappy about in my previous review has changed! I was expecting the worse but had a great experience. This is my updated review: Space: small space with three small tables that can sit 7 people total. Anymore will feel squeezed. Placing an order: to order, you would come up to the counter and pick items from the menu there or from a big chalk board hanging on the wall which mainly has drinks listed(juices, teas, etc…). It’s about $ 15 for a salad. On the pricey side, but salads are big and worth it. Food: selection of gluten free desserts(chocolate caramel dessert is my favorite), salads, sandwiches and wraps. I took a photo of the falafel salad and Mediterranean salad — both were great. The salads were abundant with greens and had a good sauce adding flavor without feeling blend nor dry. Teas(if you decide to eat in) come in cute little tea pots. Note for first timers: when the food is ready it is called for you to pick it up. Utensils are not given to you in hand, you would need to pick them up at the top of the counter. I don’t understand the logic there, but that’s the way it is… If you can’t find them, ask. Overall, cute healthy food joint for a quick bite. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. Enjoy!

The desserts and juices keep me coming back to OLD. The oreo ice cream is addictive, the thin mints are delightfully decadent and the snickers cupcake is sinful. What I don’t appreciate is the side of unsolicited attitude I receive from some of the employees. I’ve tried to be kind. I’ve even tried to ignore them. However, regardless of how good the desserts and juices are, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll continue to tolerate this bitter taste in my mouth.

Love, Love, Love this place! Rawfoodist for years with a picky palate and I was impressed! The lasagna and the caesar salad were out of this world, not to mention all the desserts: brownies, oreos, etc. Service was a little off!(they made a mistake with my order and didn’t realize till I walked home!) Restaurants should never say, «Well, it wasn’t intentional» Should always be, «So sorry, how can we make this up to you.» Easily forgiven with a sincere sorry! :) The food was exceptional and this LA girl is happy to have a GREATRAWFOOD restaurant in walking distance! Will give 5 stars despite a mistake! p. s. I think it’s interesting that many have complained about the service, I think O.L.D. should probably take note!

Delicious smoothies, a little pricey, but you’re getting quality ingredients with this place. If you’re looking to splurge and have a few extra minutes, they’ll whip up some delicious and healthy drinks that are made to order.

Hands down one of my most favorite places to grab a quick bite! My husband and I came across this after having eaten at Pure food and Wine, which has a BEAUTIFUL seating area in the summer. Anyways, the staff is always super friendly and the customers follow suit. Never a dull conversation, and always nice people willing to chat about food, their life — or anything in particular. Homey, earthy, lovely.

Nice little store in a decent neighborhood. It’s just that it’s too stuck up & expensive for us peons. The juices I’ve bought here have been just above lukewarm. Kind of defeats the purpose of juicing IMO. The mallomars taste amazing and look fancy-shmancy. The entire dessert including the cream«football» holds up well in warmer temperatures *cough* car trunk *cough*. The fig/apricot linzer cookies are very mimicking of the regular baked kind, however they are sickly sweet. The tart jam center helps to balance it out, but it’s still kind of overwhelming for my taste. The almond quackers are delicious, especially the ‘cheesy’ flavor. But they are always out of that flavor when I visit… always. The service niceness at the counter is a roller coaster of hit-or-miss. One day they’ll be the nicest native NYer, then the next they’ll treat you like a tourist, in a café, ordering coffee, at 3pm, during the Summer. The customers can be pretty bad too. They range of anything from tea-sipping hippies to the dreaded UES line-crowding rich b!&(#es. Did I mention everything is grossly overpriced? Those vegans be ballin’. So maybe that helps shed light on this place. Enjoy!

I wouldn’t give this place any stars if that was an option. I have walked past this place several times on my way home from the gym and finally stopped in yesterday. I think the prices are a little ridiculous… even for NY. I chose the Hot Pink juice($ 9.80 with tax). Okay fine… i’m thinking… maybe it’s realllly good or something… I never had the chance to find out. The girl making the juice first tried to shove an entire beet into the juicer and then had a puzzled look as to why nothing came out the other end… After unjamming the beet, she realized cutting them into smaller pieces would be a better idea… except when she cut the beet… part of it fell on the floor. I stood there and watched her pick it up and put it right into the juicer. I told the other employee standing there what had just happened, got my $ 9.80 back and walked out. Disgusting.

I did not feel very«lucky» Poor customer service with employees made me wish I walked the few extra blocks to Liquiteria on 2nd ave. Their juices/shakes taste much better and the employees are friendly and enthusiastic about their work … Unlike here at lucky duck. I work a few blocks away and pass by every day from work. One 3 occasions I made the mistake to purchase here and each time it left a bad taste in my mouth . The juices are«ok» but the staff turned me off … I would never go back unfortunately …

With an ultra trendy atmosphere and prices to match, One Lucky Duck is a solid stop for lovers of all things vegan. As long as you stick to sweet things and salads(and have some serious change to drop) you won’t be unhappy with a stop here or at its sister branch in the Chelsea Market. To be honest, I am addicted to O.L.D.‘s packaged foods. The Cheesy Quackers, the Oatmeal Cookies that taste like maple syrup, the Granola, and the absurdly amazing Ice Cream Sandwich are all pretty miraculous vegan treats. Their juices are also solid. However, I see a lot of people getting salads here and they seem to love them. I had the Thai Lettuce Wraps which I did not exactly dig. I thought they were going to be spicy and full of nuts but they were just collard greens stuffed with kind of bland, soggy coleslaw. Anyway, aside from this one dish and the really high prices on virtually every product this place is amazing. If you get the vanilla ice cream sandwich or this absurd buckwheat cereal they have in vanilla, cinnamon, and chocolate flavor you will quickly see that, despite whatever faults it may have, One Lucky Duck is a place worth visiting whether you are a vegan or not.

I just had the taco salad. This is a practical joke. $ 18 for couple of lettuce pieces and tiny portion of vacamoli with some badly marinated nuts. Worst value for money experience I had in NYC vegan places. I had to sign up to Unilocal and post it since I was so pissed when I opened the take out box. I had to share

I usually don’t write reviews of places I’ve only visited once, but I’m never coming back here, so there’s that. I only came here because I was in the neighborhood for a training and I’m vegan for Lent. I read the reviews but somehow managed to skip over complaints about the prices. I spent $ 26 and some change on a raw salad and some juice. Insane. I had the taco salad… it was fairly large and pretty tasty. But it was NOT worth seventeen bucks. Maybe $ 12? There was way too much cilantro in the guacamole. The hot pink juice was delicious and $ 7 is fairly standard for a large freshly pressed juice. I probably wouldn’t have been so annoyed about the prices if the service had been better. When I arrived there was one woman on line ahead of me. Still had to stand there waiting for a solid 7 minutes before dude took my order. I almost walked out, but I was hungry and cold and I only had an hour before I had to get back. So I stayed despite my better judgment and the guy taking orders was pretty curt. By the time my food was ready, a crowd had formed; I didn’t hear him when he called out my order. So he yells at me, «Hey you! FOOD’S READY!» –___– Really, though? Then he put my plate down on the counter and pushed it in my direction, rather than putting it in my outstretched hand. I ate there and I noticed that he was much more friendly with every single person who came in after me. Then he had the nerve to seem annoyed that I didn’t tip him. Sir. You did nothing but yell at me and basically shove my food across the counter at me, so why exactly are you giving me pointed looks and nodding at the tip jar? Oh, you want a couple dollars for simply existing? Yea, no. Try being friendly next time. Idk, maybe I reminded him of his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him with his brother. Anywho. Overpriced + terrible service = me running out of here and never coming back. I was still hungry when I left, too.

The juice craze is taking over NYC with places popping up everywhere. This place doesnt have that feel of most chains i.e. liquiteria has. It has a local, smallish feel. The place is definitely small, the juices were decent, but you definitely will have to pay a pretty penny for their fresh juices. I thought the prices were on the higher side. I do live down the street so I may stop by again to check out more of their juices. They also offer other treats and snacks for the health conscious.

One of the best things I love about New York City is the variety of culinary options available to Vegans, Vegetarians, Veggie Heads and others with special dietary needs. We found One Lucky Duck in the Chelsea Market, a raw and Vegan juice bar and snack café. One Lucky Duck is a tiny counter service joint offering a menu of raw, Vegan and organic items like juices, shakes, salads and desserts. There is also a small marketplace area where you can pick up some pre-packaged snacks as well as supplements like Kelp and Chia powder. Although there is a wide selection of food such as salads, lasagna and lettuce wraps, we went there for only one thing– the Vegan juices and shakes. I choose the Hot Pink — a mixture of beet juice, pineapple, pear and ginger. It was delicious. The ginger made it very spicy– I could just feel the healthiness kicking in. Sweet and spicy was a great and refreshing combination. Chad went for the Calypso shake– a frothy concoction of mango, raspberry, lemonade and vanilla. It was thick and cold just like a traditional«milkshake» but without all the dairy and sugar. The shakes are made unsweetened, however you can request Stevia or agave nectar if you prefer. And, to any of the beverages you can add a variety of supplements from bee pollen, hemp protein to goji berries. There is minimal seating in the entire market but if you are lucky enough to find a place to sit, it can be quite entertaining watching the hustle and bustle of the market. I saw lots of tourists but also a few Chefs walking around in their crisp white uniforms. I am assuming these were the Chefs with their fabulous kitchens at the Food Network Studios which are located just upstairs from the Market. Chelsea Market is a hip collection of bakeries, restaurants, kitchen stores and even a very stocked produce market. This place is a culinary lover’s dream. Anyway, back to One Lucky Duck… unless you already know about this place, you may have trouble finding it or stumbling across it. It is tucked into corner of the market, behind a walkway of other walk up stands and can easily be passed right by. However, just get to the middle of the market and start heading towards West 15th Street and you will find it to the left. Again, we only had beverages here but there is a large selection of fresh juices and shakes to please any palette. Whether you go the raw, Vegan or organic route or are just looking for something healthy, you will find something for you at One Lucky Duck. We paid $ 18 for one juice and one shake, a little expensive even for New York City. I already have the Tuscan Kale and Radicchio salad, and a Blue Grape juice(grapefruit and blue-green algae) on my radar for next time. Or maybe the Pumpkin Seed and Herb Salad with an Avocolada shake(avocado, pineapple, coconut water, lime and vanilla.) We only had the juices today and other than being a little expensive, we enjoyed our healthy beverages.

Ok — I’ve now been to both this and the Chelsea Market location and I have to agree that the staff at both locations are just angry and unfriendly people. I don’t know if this is a result of being constantly hungry because you’re just feeding yourself rabbit food all the time as you’ve bought into the lifestyle and you work there, but seriously: Be happy that people like me are willing to come into your hole in the wall shop to join you in eating your rabbit food. Misery loves company, right? And let’s not kid ourselves, if bone marrow, butter, foie gras, were just as healthy, then wouldn’t you rather have that versus the $ 12 juice? Be happy that people like me got tricked into thinking it’s ok to pay $ 15 for a salad. It pays the bills of your employer. ‘Twas damn good salad though — all I ask is that if you’re going to screw my wallet so hard, you do it with a smile?

Hey I know there is some negative noise on this site and I don’t think it’s 100% unwarranted — but — let’s just take a step back and appreciate how good and healthy the food is!!! Yeah I spent 9 $ on a juice today but it was worth it! Every time I eat at one lucky duck I leave feeling refreshed and nourished!!! I love raw food, I love their snacks and desserts and the salads are huge and super filling– but they should leave the honey at home. Either way this place is a gem ESP if you want high quality raw and can’t afford pure food and wine. pro tip: their chocolate is fair trade that means a lot to me.
