We had a bad experience but the management went above and beyond to fix it. Gotta love a business that will take responsibility!

Great food, atmosphere and service. I was part of a large group(which usually means hit or miss service) — but I was pleasantly surprised with our wait staff’s attentiveness. Drinks were never empty and plates were cleared appropriately. While the food portions were a bit on the small end, the taste was outstanding. Salads, appetizers, main entrees and desserts alike were all very flavorful. It is a bit on the pricer side, but I would recommend for a special date night or fancy business dinner.

Last day of restaurant week so I brought my colleagues here, first time for me as well. Based on my logic, if they are only serving M-F lunch for RW menu, it must be a decent place. Also A Voce has two locations, with this one sitting in Columbus circle and the other conveniently located in flatiron — both used to be Michelin one-star; however both got downgraded after Chef Missy Robbins left two years ago. Food-wise, there’s not too much to choose from. While I got Insalata to open up my palate for my favorite brenzino main course; my colleagues opted for salmon crudo as meat lovers. Probably dessert was the best among the three course prex fixe — creamy panna cotta! Also very fortunate since there weren’t that many people during lunch times and we got to sit at the dining area. Ambience was flawless, with a small relaxing tilt. I love this place, really hope that it can win back its star soon!

OMG, OMG, OMG ! I do not give five stars easily — What impressed me the most was the warm reception we received, the entertaining bartender, our knowledgeable and personable waiter — the sommelier, and just everyone who worked there — we could not get up or sit down without our chair being held for us, and everyone works together so well even in a crowded atmosphere. The view is special as well. As for the food — the focaccia was made in house, served warm with a perfectly seasoned olive oil — My salmon crudo was, well for lack of a better word, YUMMY ! My companion, to my dismay, ordered the salad BUT it was incredible ! Pear was the star of the dish. Then we had some insanely delicioso stuffed pork and Branzino with mussels. Flavors abound, yet are perfect and delicate. I can’t praise this restaurant more and I can not wait to return ! It is a definite NYC gem !

Came with two colleagues for lunch as it’s close to work. Loved the quiet, roomy space and classy décor — didn’t expect that from somewhere in TWC. Our table was one away from the window, and we could see the pano view of the snow-covered park quite clearly. Service was heightened and tentative — not one dull moment from the suited-up staff. The RW menu was simple but well put together. Loved the salmon crudo — really delicious with the cornichons. I could keep popping the bite-sized delicacy forever. The bass was on the ok side — felt a little cold as if it had been left outside for a while. Dessert was great — really loved the panna cotta. We came early at noon, and it was rather empty, but got filled up very quickly. Would definitely recommend for a good work lunch.

We went to A Voce for a birthday dinner tonight and the service was horrible. Literally, the servers only came by to take our food & drink orders and never saw them again until they returned to clear our plates and bring out our next order. Not even the manager who was walking around had even asked us once«how was the food?». I guess at A Voce, they don’t emphasize on good customer service? Or is it because we went during restaurant week and service don’t matter? Or perhaps, the servers simply don’t care? As you can see from our photos on Unilocal,we had a 3 course meal and many, many drinks. My husband spent over $ 329 on dinner and that’s NOT even including tips. Seriously, we probably should’ve just left a 10% tip but we’re not those type of people that would do that. It wasn’t worth ruining our wonderful night with wonderful friends. Would we go back? Definitely a big NO. We would rather have mediocre food than horrible customer service. You can improve on food but once service is bad, it’s always going to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Restaurants need to understand you have one chance to make a good impression if you want repeating customers.

Came here for restaurant week, and couldn’t be happier when my dinner. Crudo«alla puttanesca»(salmon, antipasti) was cool and fresh. Maiale(pork loin, secondi) was flavorful, juicy, tender, and all around marvelous. Semifreddo(peanut butter, dessert) was like a Reese’s peanut butter cup in ice cream form — and no complaints from me! Service was attentive and efficient. The crunchy bread with burratta was absolutely divine.

Restaurant week in New York — experience here was abysmal. Thankfully the waiter was terrific and the food good. They first sat our party of 4 at a nice centrally located table then recoiled when we asked for the Restaurant Week menu. They moved us to a small area near the bar segregated for customers who made that request. Oddly our original table remained empty all night. Apartheid seating system. Don’t waste your time. Managers should be fired.

Worth going! I decided to pick a restaurant for lunch and since it’s a restaurant week, I thought it will be much harder to get a reservation anywhere. Well, that was not the case at A Voce. I was able to make the reservation and on the day of, modify it. It is really accommodating. The restaurant week menu was one of the choices as we could still order from the regular menu if we wanted. We decided to go for the tasting menu with no regrets. The root soup was spectacular. Perfect flavors, great combination with the ricotta cheese and the presentation speaks volumes. We ordered a bottle of wine and unfortunately the server did not notice I was missing a glass until he started pouring the wine on the table. He fixed it real quick and we moved on to food. I picked fish from the menu, and even though it is an Italian place and pasta looked good, my fish was a better choice. The pana cotta dessert was the best part of my meal. Perfect combination of sweet and sour and just a great addition to the whole meal. The restaurant is located in the Time Warner building in the Colombus Circle mall and I wasn’t sure if I liked to be in a shopping center but it definitely didn’t give me a feeling of being in a «mall restaurant».

I had a great lunch here last year, and was in the area so I decided to repeat the experience. It was restaurant week so the $ 25.00 fixed price was a welcome bonus . It was another great experience. Great service —(even though we had to ask twice for bread) the food was great and large portions considering it was a restaurant week menu. My fish was cooked perfectly hot on the outside moist and warm inside.. I’m told The pork loin was perfectly prepared and cooked. Salmon crudo Appetizer was subtle and tasty I highly recommend A Voce

The window seats are beautiful; I got to look out at Columbus Circle while I ate. The service was great and the waitress was very friendly and walked us through the menu really well. The food was spectacular too! This is not the typical American-Italian heavy food. I feel that it is more authentic Italian and the portions are made so that you are comfortable full(though some may think it’s small). This restaurant is on the pricey side, but definitely worth it once in a while!

When there are so many other fine restaurants in NY not sure I’d come back here. Food was expensive and not memorable in any way. Mediocre service. Chairs were not comfortable and table for four was so cramped there were no place for your feet — literally. Desserts tasted like sawdust — the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant of this caliber. Take yourself elsewhere.

We made a reservation, showed up at 11:30AM as advised(Google, Unilocal and their website shows 11:30am as their opening time for lunch) and not only they didn’t let us in, they didn’t even let us seat near the window which is the reason why we made a reservation in the first place. They made us wait outside for 20 minutes with no explanation, what a great starting. The younger manager, the french speaking one, was annoyed we showed up, he had no interest in explaining us why we weren’t being seated and told the hostess«don’t ask I’m not even here». The older manager came to the table twice but he just genuinely didn’t care about what was happening. The restaurant was still empty, I asked once again why they wouldn’t seat us along the window and the answer now was that«you don’t fit there». Oh well. You can sell a piece of cod for $ 38 but you can’t buy class. ps: why did the restaurant reek in disinfectant? The smell today was atrocious.

The food was delicious, the service was very good, and our cocktails done right. We brought our family here, and we all enjoyed it. I know people complain about the portion size– but I like that its smaller. I think this maybe my favorite Italian in the city.

See, even without Marc Forgione as their exec, A Voce shines bright. With the overlook of Columbus circle, this establishment is a perfect place to wine and dine on any day, for any occasion. Let’s review the dinner for the party of seven shall we… What was ordered: –VINO– — (2) Cabernet Sauvignon — Jade Mountain –APPS– — Tonno Crudi: Ahi tuna, agrodolce, lemon verbena — Passera Crudi: wild fluke, cucumber, yuzu, trout caviar — Hamachi Crudi: Yellow tail, avocado, grapefruit — Pulipo: roasted octopus, potato salad, celery confit, kale purée — Capesante: sea scallops, sunchokes, licorice — Tartara di Manzo: piedmontese beef tartar, egg yolk, pickled cucumber –ENTREES– — (2) Risotto: riso Acquerello, chanterelles, bone marrow — Trenette: home made ligurian pasta, king crab, Santa Barbara sea urchin, parsley — Linguini: hand crafted squid ink pasta, Maine lobster, baby leeks, crumbled bottarga — Gnocchetti: home made potato dumplings, porcini, calamari — Anatra: Long Island duck magret, celery root, saba, turnips, mustard seeds — Maialino: braised pork cheeks, roasted loin, parsnip, rapini –DESSERT– — Cioccolato: Guanaja Chocolate«budino», millk chocolate sorbet, vanilla yogurt — Tiramisu: espresso marscarpone mousse, vanilla sponge, coffee Marsala gelee How’d it turn out?: Better than expected… for such a high priced restaurant, we finished every last piece on our plates, and were immensely satiated. My particular dish was the linguini. A perfect swirled capsule of squid ink linguini with perfectly cooked(almost poached-like) segments of lobster claw. I’ve never had bottarga before, have always wanted to try… this was definitely a great way to pop my bottarga cherry. a very good dish with little to no negative comments.

I took a bunch of out of town guests from the Midwest here last weekend, having remembered the beautiful views of columbus circle from a previous visit(work holiday party). My guests, all intimidated by the fancy menu, opted for pasta of one sort or another. I had the Amatriciana(a little obsession of mine) with sea urchin which was actually not as amazing as it sounded on the menu. Pasta was perfectly cooked, but saucing was heavily acidic. I would probably pick something less astringent next time. They were petite servings, as noted by the other reviewers, but we were satisfied due to the richness of the dishes. The consensus among all was that they were all tasty. All were happy with their choices. We also ordered a couple veggie sides to share. The haricot vert and zucchini(again, on the petite side) were very good. We shared a bottle of wine, a Californian red(Grenache, Shiraz and Cab blend, I believe) which was perfect. The extensive wine list had options for all — high and low, and prices seemed fair. Mignardises at the end were very good. Service was also very good. Staff was very helpful explaining the menu and unfamiliar terms to the table. All in all, a good place for out of town guests who request an Italian restaurant near the midtown hotel area. A tad pretentious, but that’s usually the price of admission to a beautiful restaurant in the city with great views.

I took a girlfriend of mine to A Voce for her birthday dinner. We had an amazing time! I put, «birthday» on my reservation. Upon arrival, the maitre d sat us in what I thought to be the best seat in the house with perfect views of Central Park. We couldn’t stop gazing out of the window! Felt as though we were in the park. Our waiter suggest an amazing wine and gave some yummy dinner recommendations. He was also super funny and laid back. Felt as though we were dinning in someone’s home with the easy going atmosphere. My friend and I shared two appetizers and a plate of linguine with uni. Very fresh as uni can be hit or miss. A Voce is a wonderful pick for a celebration or just some quiet time at the bar with a glass of vino and a plate of pasta! I’ll be back sooner than later!

A Voce is a beautiful Italian restaurant located on the third floor of Columbus Circle. I have never been to the first location on Madison, but I have heard that the Columbus location has a much more modern feel to it. The menu is slightly different as well. The service at A Voce is impeccable. The entire dining staff is extremely attentive to all your needs. As soon as we ordered our entrée, the server brought out 4 pieces of warm focaccia bread with ricotta cheese dip topped with olive oil and mint. The focaccia bread is rubbed with additional olive oil and topped with some sea salt for additional flavor. The ricotta dip is so delicious! We almost got full with the bread, and wouldn’t have regretted it because it was probably my favorite part of the meal haha. I wasn’t too hungry, so I just got the Gnocchi. I thought the portion was going to be tiny, but I was definitely satisfied. The red beets dumpling had absolutely beautiful, natural beet color and had bits and pieces of beets as well. There were maybe 4 or 5 dollops of crescenza cheese as well as some foam(?) and topped with tiny pieces of black olives. I could definitely taste the flavor of beets, but I personally didn’t like the flavor in the gnocchi too much. It was definitely an experimental pasta, but not sure if I would order it again. I also had the Eggplant side. Slices of eggplants are tossed in red wine vinegar, calabrian chili, and oregano. It was kind of oily, but really liked the texture and the flavor. My dad had the Manzo, or 6-oz dry aged sirloin with parsley root purée, vegetables(mushroom, carrots, onions, etc.), and bitter green salad. He loved the dish! We were too full for dessert, but they gave us complimentary gelee, marshmallow, and creamiest chocolate ever to finish our meal.

Unser bestes Dinner in New York. Nette Atmosphäre, guter Blick auf den Columbus Circle, Essen italienisch kreativ und sehr lecker. Für uns Deutsche war der Service exzellent, ein bisschen aufgesetzt, aber aufmerksam. Ich würde wiederkommen.
