El Clasificado

As a business owner, I have to deal with this company every time they scour the web for information. They like to pick up my company info and create an «ad» in their paper, making it look like I placed it, and am actually hiring.
This wastes my time, answering calls from people looking for employment with my company, when I am not hiring. This wastes the time of all the people legitimately looking for a job, as there isn’t one available here. (and, I presume for most of their listings, if they do this for a large percentage of the content in their paper)
And, it is dishonest to their paid advertisers, who by looking at their paper, might think that they have more traffic than they actually do.
My first response to a business owner is not to come to Unilocal and trash them, but to approach them directly seeking a response/​solution. When I finally got through to them, their response was that they do this for a lot of their ads, and they don’t have any way of removing me from their database to stop placing an ad on my behalf. They also didn’t understand the ethical problems of putting in content to look like it is paid, when it is just copy and paste data from unwilling participants.
I’m happy to take their call and adjust my rating, but I doubt they will bother, seeing the attitude they gave me on the phone when I first contacted them by phone.
