Had to drop a star from my last visit Tisha please check yr reviews your wait staff is failing u in the afternoon before u arrive. As stated in the review they are young and hanging out behind the counter. They are also visible eating in the kitchen where I can see the young girl licking her fingers. As soon as u arrive then your young male family starts doing his job and begins checking on things and cleaning. Your food was excellent as ever just the young ones need supervision.

Not sure how this place got rated so high by so many people. We were greeted with half glasses of water that were never refilled the whole time we were there as well as not being asked if we wanted any other beverages to drink. One other table was dining in the middle of the afternoon on a weekend and two tables from previous patrons were not even bussed. There should not be a reason to have dirty tables when the place was not busy. We ordered the crab cakes which was clearly microwaved from the temperature on the inside being scolding and the outside temperature being warm. The fish and chips were ok but the French fries were severely undercooked and the portion of fish was embarrassing. The lobster salad sandwich was very good and the shrimp salad was good as well. However the service was probably the worst we have seen in years. Waiters never checking up, and just talking in the back and counting their tips(which based on the service I’m hoping was not that much). We ordered the lychee ice tea that was horrid, and when we told the waiter he laughed and said«I know». The place is seriously not run properly and that makes me concerned on how the kitchen and the food safety is being handled back there. If the front of the house is that improperly trained I’m scared to think what the back of the house is like.

We were the only customers and got horrible service — staff hung out behind the counter the whole time Had to ask for a drink and it came at end of meal Had dirty tables around us and food on the floor Never refilled water — even when the waiter came to the table to bring food — had to ask for it

Went here about a month ago and was not happy. The staff was all over the place, dropping things, coming back as to things we ordered but they didn’t actually have, getting other people’s orders wrong, chit chatting and laughing right next to us… it was disappointing. Besides the service, my steak was also over cooked. It is overpriced and will definitely not be returning. The only thing that was good was the papaya salad.

The food is great here with endless options to choose from. The staff is very knowledge and attentive. Ask for Josh to be your server, he will go above and beyond. He’s also really cute ;)

I have had a table of 8 at Thai West last saterday for my birthday and food was delicious along with service. I now tried the«start up» that the chef/owner owned before making good money and opening another. It seems the owner forgot that she can’t just pay 216 year old boys to run a 30 dollar dish restaurant. Place had girls running in laughing talking to kids/servers and the waiter was horrible. Not only do they have 16 year old waiters but they are burn outs as well. A dude we have like specials, it’s like steak and like a sauce that’s good. Owner please pay a manager to run a restaurant. You clearly can“t run both and tonight proved that. Stop being cheap. I know you like paying 16 year Olds nothing to work but it’s going to hurt you in the long run. I could tell everyone was dissatisfied in the restaurant. Even people who seemed to come there often and knew people’s names. This was another table of 8, only this time it was a complete disaster. My family was making fun of me for picking it. My aunt asked me if this was my favorite. It was embarrassing My wife didn’t get her meal until the end. She asked for the steak medium(pregnant) it came out raw. They took it off the bill.

Very enjoyable spot with good food and attentive service. We tried the soufflé and that capped off a good meal experience. Two of us had the Pad Thai, both enjoyed. One had the stone bowl sauté. One had a pasta dish, which seemed slightly out of place in an Asian Fusion /French restaurant. Both NE clam chowder and French onion soup were enjoyed. It’s BYOB, but there’s a liquor store just up the block, open on a Sunday evening. That is a surprise in Bergen County.

It’s ironic that the restaurant is called«Tisha’s Main Ingredient» when the menu items are all over the place. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just a bit confusing. The menu includes Asian, European and American dishes. I guess it was nice to have options, but it was that much harder to decide on something to order… End rant. Likes: –The food was delicious! My date and I ordered gyoza, pad see ew, mussels and the green tea soufflé. The gyoza was nice and crisp with a good amount of meat and flavor. As far as I can tell from the little pad see ew I had, it was pretty good, not too salty or greasy. The mussels were cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed the broth. Lastly, the soufflé was yummy! I liked that the green tea flavor wasn’t overwhelming.(Btw it was my first time having a soufflé — yay me!) –The prices and portion sizes were decent. –Atmosphere: nice décor, music and good vibes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn’t feel pressured to hurry up and eat or leave. Cons: It took a long time for the food to come out. We got our foods at different times. I like to make sure everyone has their food before I start eating, so my dish actually got somewhat cold. However, I didn’t mind so much because the staff was so friendly and the food was good. Luckily, I was with good company. With all the free time to spare, my date and I were able to talk and play some games while waiting. Conclusion: Good place for a first date! I’ll be back. perhaps for a second date.

Was super excited to try this place but it was not a place Im eager to revisit. See below… French onion soup: awesome, full of flavor and delicious ! Dumpling appetizer: really not good, it was unfortunately full of crab shell– we were picking it out of our teeth Famous bouillabaisse seafood entrée: was absent of lobster, just a big tomato broth soup with seafood boiled in it. Don’t ask for extra bread THEYCHARGEYOU $ 5 for two slices of bread!!! Pork tenderloin special: ended up with a pork loin… possible waitress mistake ? Chocolate soufflé: was good, homemade whipped cream was delicious ! Service: great very friendly. Décor: very nice, classic and tastefully decorated.

I want to start this review by saying that I actually feel bad giving this place only 3 stars, but I have to. Here’s why: I am not super picky about service when I go out to eat. All I ask is that you’re polite, and visible often enough that I can get your attention if needed. All of the staff at Tisha’s were polite, though they did lack personality. Definitely not something that would deter me from coming back, but just an observation. The problem about the service was the timing. I came on a Saturday night around 8pm two weeks ago, as a party of three(my parents and I) and there were only 3 other tables occupied, not crowded at all. The three of us ordered separate appetizers, my mom’s came out first. About 6 – 7 minutes later(she had already finished hers) my dad’s soup came out. About halfway done with his soup, my soup came out. Annoying that we all ate separately, but all three were delicious, so we tried to forget about it. 20 minutes after I had finished my soup,(so this is now about 40 minutes after our first appetizer arrived) my dad got his pasta entrée. He waited about five minutes, but he didn’t want his food to get cold, so he ate his. He had about two bites left when my mom and I received our entrees, luckily at the same time. They ask you to order the soufflé with your entrees because it takes a while, and even though we did, we somehow didn’t get the soufflé until another 20 minutes after we finished our entrees. We all agreed that everything we ate was amazing, but the timing was just so terrible. My dad refuses to come back, I’m willing to give them another shot because I enjoyed my food that much. Bottom line: Come here if you want delicious food, but have two and a half hours to kill and don’t mind eating separately from the people you came with. I would say it could’ve been a one time occurrence, but I noticed other people complaining of the same thing(I ignored those reviews thinking those people were just picky, but they were right!)

Going to be honest, I’m not clearly convinced that this place even deserves 3-stars, but to give it the benefit of the doubt, we were told the manager was not there that night. Let’s start from the beginning, show up for a 6:30 reservation with my significant other(SO) and her family for her niece’s birthday. The restaurant is nice, very good use of a small space, and our table was already set up prior to our arrival. Good job! We sit down and low behold are waiting for menus for about 5 minutes. The waiter actually started to go over the specials before realizing that we hadn’t gotten them yet. Ok, it happens, no problem. Appetizers: Homemade dumplings in a balsamic reduction, fried calamari, green papaya salad, and some other salad(I didn’t order). The appetizers were OK, surprisingly the salads were the best dishes. Nice flavor, a little zing/heat, well-dressed, and tasty. The dumplings were not really my cup of tea, but that’s not to say they were bad, just not my flavor profile. The calamari was average; cooked well but the breading was odd. Dinner: First and foremost, the waiter did not write down our order and missed one of the entrees. This was a clear 1-star knock down. As a waiter you should also make sure that the number of people at the table matches the number of entrees. Realistically, I think he forgot two entrees, but managed to wiggle his way out of one. So all of us are eating and it takes them about 15 minutes to bring the forgotten entrée(which was only a green salad w/shrimp). I got the cod and lobster, while my SO got the mac and cheese with shrimp. Man, to say I was disappointed was an understatement. The cod was fatty and cold by the time it was placed on the table. The lobster on the other hand was quite good. The mac and cheese had the base of a good dish, but there simply wasn’t even sauce, I found myself eating dry noodles at some points. To be honest, I didn’t bother trying anyone else’s dishes. Dessert: Coffee and green tea souflee. This was probably the saving grace and why I ended up giving it three stars in the long run. The souflee was quite tasty, especially the green tea. Service: Minus forgetting orders, the service was good. Considering that I don’t live near Tisha’s, I probably won’t be returning. Sorry guys, it was clear miss for me.

This place is off the hook. In my last visit, I ordered the ribeye. Flavor crystals like Whoa! I took off one star because I asked for my ribeye medium, and it came out cooked more like medium well. It tasted so good that it made up for the preparation mishap. I also tried their Chilean sea bass… Flavor crystals like Whoa! Everything was perfectly seasoned. You know you’re having an awesome meal when you’re dancing in your seat with every bite you take. The place is also BYOB so we came prepared with some wine. A nice little French-Thai fusion spot in Westwood, NJ. A little advice is to book a reservation. The restaurant is fairly small. I’d say they can only seat 25 – 35 people max.

We went on a Saturday at 7pm(two couples) for dinner. The décor was a cute with black and white dots and it was a smaller restaurant. The lighting could have been a little lower(too bright) BYOB. We had reservations but there were some empty tables when we got there. The waiter was pleasant but was very soft spoken so it was hard to hear. The menu had lots of choices but seemed a little expensive since being in a strip mall. We ordered the bisque and salads for appetizers. I loved my salad but my husband thought his was alright because they have pickles in it. It was a good portion though… not bad reviews for the bisque either. We ordered the rib eye, chilean sea bass special and two boullibaise. Bad reviews on the rib eye… it was hard and felt like it had been frozen and not fresh… we were almost going to send it back but we were hungry. The sea bass was good but small. The Boullibaise was very hot… it comes in a pot thing that keeps it super hot that you cannot eat it for like 20 minutes without burning your mouth. It wasn’t bad though. We also ordered dessert. Crème Brulee, fried ice cream and a sticky rice dish. The fried ice cream was very good, the crème brûlée wasn’t bad(although have had better) and the sticky rice was ok.(If you order the soufflé, you need to order when ordering dinner or apps). Also, another note was that the dishes didn’t all come out at once. you had to wait for everyone to get theirs which was awkward. That being said, we probably will not be going back. Our bill ended up being $ 200 for 4 people for a BYOB.

Been a few times now within the past month and it’s been great every time. Their apps are delicious… their homemade dumplings and the fried calamari was yummy. Came for brunch and my mom got the crab salad and the dressing on the greens was so refreshing and light and the crab salad was so good. For another visit, we came for dinner. My husband got the steak and I got the pad Thai. Both were delicious. The highlight of all our visits tho is the chocolate soufflé. So good. We usually go to Morton’s for this but this is actually on point!!! The waitstaff is always super nice and friendly. Definitely one of our new go to places for dinner or just to get dessert :)

Mike and jasmine were fantastic servers, and I appreciate that a small restaurant can rely on these employees to properly service a large group. Byob meant we brought a full bar with our group of 10, and these guys were on their game. I have to say, the chef disappointed me. I ordered the steak au poivre medium rare. It came out near well, and I normally accept a little Leeway, but from medium rare to almost well for $ 40,is not acceptable. Instead of correcting his mistake, the chef decided to serve me ultra rare. I guess he showed me. My waiter Mike was amazing and apologetic. He was very attentive and humble. Jasmine was waiting the table next to us, and stepped in when Mike was busy in the back. They covered each other, and kept everything moving. I will be back on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Very cute date place. Well decorated. Romantic ambiance. Bring your girlfriend here and she will not be disappointed! Food: Interesting fusion dishes to choose from. We had the homemade crab, shrimp, and pork dumplings for appetizers and that was delicious. For the main course we had the sauté beef hot stone bowl and the special that night, which was the grilled tuna with shrimp on a soy based sauce. To be honest, the main course was only alright. The cut of beef wasn’t that great, slightly chewy. I’ve had way better beef in more authentic Korean restaurants. The tuna was overcooked. It wasn’t horrible but I expected better. The best part of this restaurant experience was really the dessert. We had the chocolate soufflé and it was scrumptious. The soufflé texture was light and decadent, not rich and heavy as one might expect. The dish was served with a large dollop of whipped cream and generous amount of chocolate sauce. Important: Don’t forget to order the soufflé at the start of your meal because it takes at least 20 minutes to prepare. Service The service was a bit slow but the waiter was very friendly. I think they take their time in between the different courses to give you more time to talk to your date. Overall Although the main course was only OK, the dessert and ambiance shifted my vote up to 4 stars. When I come back next time, I might just share a bunch of appetizers instead of getting a main course dish. And of course, I’ll have to get the dessert.

So, let me start off by saying that a couple bites into the meal, we were already making plans to come back again. My mom and I went to Tisha’s for a birthday brunch on a Sunday afternoon, and there was only one other table of customers there at the time. The interior was very unique, clean, and fairly small– looked like a max capacity of around 30 – 40. I didn’t realize Sunday before 4 pm was a brunch menu, not the lunch or dinner menus I’d perused online. When speaking to the server, he noted that brunch had only started the week before, which was pretty cool. As far as the menu goes, I would have liked a little more written explanation on the contents/description of the dishes– if you’re going to serve a ‘seafood’ item, list the seafood used– or if an unusual item like ‘roti chicken mornay,’ a little description would be helpful. We had to ask the server a bunch of questions and felt a little bothersome about it. The server was also new and had to go ask other employees in the BOH when he didn’t know the answers– which was fine, I just think it could have been avoided. My mom got the burger with fries, and I got the Caesar salad with chicken. She would not stop raving about how delicious the burger was– though, side note, they put an egg on it when she was asked if she wanted it and she said no. No biggie. Also, the fries were forgotten and brought out late. Also… not a huge deal. The salad was extremely well dressed, and the chicken was shaved/cut thinly rather than your bog-standard thick chunks, which kept the meal feeling light/delicate. The salad came with a slice of parmesan-crusted toast, which was a nice accompaniment. We ordered the coffee soufflé ahead of time, and the staff very sweetly put a candle in it and sang happy birthday to me, which was unexpected and very thoughtful. The soufflé, by god, was revelatory. I’m not even a really big dessert fan, but it was executed perfectly– light, airy, a crisp top, hot all the way through, with very obviously fresh, thick whipped cream, and a coffee sauce poured over. I’m really excited to try the other flavors when I come back, and I will come back, sooner than later. Interestingly, looking back on the review, it seems I had a few more(small) issues than I’ve had at other recently-tried restaurants, but the friendliness of the staff, the extremely well-executed dishes, and the unique atmosphere far outweigh those, and there’s no question I’ll return to try some of those lunch and dinner items that caught my eye.

This place was recommended by my bestie’s cousin who had her bday dinner here a week ago. I had to go check it out for myself… so my bestie & I headed there for a light lunch. We picked their fried calamari, papaya salad & dumplings to share. The presentation was perfect. you didn’t want to touch it because it looked so good. Overall everything was good especially their dumplings… the crabmeat on top… made it extra special I would definitely go back to try their main dishes & their soufflé which they are known for. Oh.their service is on point! The guys were very attentive. Go check this place out!
