Sylvan Learning of Northridge

This place has helped me so much, it’s indescribable. Adrianne White, the director, will go above and beyond to help you. The instructors here are great, they help you and teach you until you understand it. They have SAT PREP classes here and they are just wonderful. Ms. Fawn, the english instructor of this course, is brilliant. For me, things never stick in my brain, but somehow she got through and it helps me tremendously in all the classes I have. Mr. Joe, the math instructor, will stay after to just help you. He is great and he will find someway to help you understand the material. All the instructors here are great with every age. Everyone here is super friendly and will make sure you leave satisfied. Best place in the valley for extra help, definitely recommend this place for all academic help.

I love this place. When I heard from my daughters teachers she was falling behind and she needed extra help I thought of when I was struggling in school and how my parents took me to sylvan learning center and how it helped me out a lot and I got all the help I needed so that’s when I decided to bring my daughter here as well. Sylvan learning center is a nice learning environment and the staff there is amazing there really nice people. There was a time where I felt like giving up and letting the teacher retain my daughter but the director there kept me motivated and helped me stay positive that she will make it through this. She also went out of her way and went down to my daughter school with me to have a meeting with the principal. I really appreciated that she is so involved with all her students at sylvan learning center and doesn’t believe on giving up On them. Now I see so much improvement in my daughter thanks to Sylvan learning center and Im Extremely happy with the results and education my daughter has received. She is now moving on to the next grade.

Sylvan Learning Center-​Northridge is a wonderful learning center for students. My daughter has been struggling in the 4^th grade. And within a week, my daughter loved the programs and teachers. It’s an incredible improvement and she feels positive and engaged to learn language arts. She couldn’t have done it without Sylvan. A great place to bring your child to because the environment is safe and the teachers are excellent. They also schedule regular parent touch bases and keep in contact with teachers. My daughter has improved and more importantly her self-​esteem! The teachers who work here encourage you to always try your best and never put you down when you don’t understand something! They are helpful, understanding and always smiling. I’m very pleased with the success and self-​esteem.

I was so relieved to find Sylvan learning so close to my home! I was desperate to help my son in 10^th grade Geometry and the director, Adriene White seemed to be readily available to help us! She explained to me that my son was essentially in great danger of failing not only this class but the entire school year and warned me he probably wouldn’t even graduate ²¹⁄₂ years down the line! She used these scare tactics to take a tremendously large amount of money from me, $ 62 an hour to be exact and another $ 75 to «register» him! What an incredible rip off and disgusting waste of my son’s time and my money! He was treated poorly and shorted hours as well! He learned nothing except to watch out for people like her and her manipulating sales tactics! BEWARE! I consequently was hung up on in a horribly unprofessional, and rude way when I called to discuss the 2 hours extra I was charged that he never got! I guess Adriene works for commission and was desperate herself! Shame on her and Sylvan!!!

Very dissapointed with the whole Sylvan program. Grossly overrated and expensive with minimal to none results. It almost feels like they lower your test scores to make you pre-​pay (and pre-​pay is the key word here) more hours. My child hated going there. The biggest waste of money if you ask me. Not flexible, never available to reschedule. Worse than being in school. If you are willing to spend this much money for tutoring, consider private tutors please.

I had four exams proctored at this location and except for my first exam, all three others were not going too well when it came to processing.
First of all, the exam proctoring charge is $ 50 for each exam taken, so be prepared to pay big buckaroos there when you decide to sign on. They were not very flexible with their time arrangements. I had to change my assigned times on multiple occasions and every single time it didn’t work because they were too busy with other people being proctored — or rather allegedly being proctored. They didn’t seem to be that busy.
Great place, friendly people. Would come back here if I needed exams proctored.
