Csun Learning Resource Center

This is a great free resource for students of all majors to get help in several areas of study! They offer tutoring in multiple areas of Writing, Math, and Science by a walk-​in or appointment basis. A lot of students who come in aren’t aware that the LRC exists, which is extremely unfortunate considering that there are so many free resources that can assist them in their university education.
For example, if you schedule an appointment with a tutor in the writing center, each appointment is 30 minute one-​on-​one session where you can work on multiple areas of your writing, such as thesis statement, organization, structuring, and even brainstorming!
For the other subjects, there is what is referred to as the SMART lab (Science, Math, and Related Topics). This is where students would go to get assistance in topics such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, and more! This lab is by a walk-​in basis only, but what is great about this is that the website posts their schedule that lists the subjects and the tutor who is assisting in that subject. . There are so many subjects covered, that almost any student can find something that will help them in bettering their studies in any given subject where it is needed.
The LRC also offers free workshops for students, whether they are looking for assistance in achieving a passing score on the UDWPE, or even just looking to better their writing in terms of MLA, proofreading, or grammar basics. These workshops are help and updated frequently, to ensure all students who want to participate, can. The workshops truly aim to give students that extra boost of knowledge and confidence in their writing and test taking abilities.
Overall, the LRC is a must-​visit resource for all CSUN students as it offers so many different types of services that anyone and everyone can benefit from! And come on, it’s free, so why not try it out?!
