BEST WESTERN Catalina Inn

Very good location on McFarland Boulevard, near lots of restaurants and such. Hot breakfast, and Spunkmeir’s muffins. All motel rooms appear to be on the ground floor.
Watch your step: The sidewalks are somewhat uneven, and have steps in them where the buildings join.

A hotel is suppose to be all about hospitality. Best western Catalina failed to achieve this. Front desk staff was extremely incompetent when it came to the check-​in and check-​out times. I was wanting to check-​in early and was asked what time I wanted to do so. When I told her 7am she explained that it would be possible if they had any vacancies and to call back at 11am which was 3 hours after the time I wanted to check-​in. She then went on to say that an early check-​in was not offered by the hotel and that I would be charged for an extra night if this is what I wanted. When I did go to check-​in I was asked why I booked on Hotwire and told to book on
next time. Lastly, I had an important phone call dial the front desk and the lady told her that there was no one booked by my name and hung up on her.

Very Clean! Room seemed to be recently redone. Carpet and furniture looked new. We arrived early and had put in a special request and manager had read it and taken care of it. He let us check in early and was helpful in trying to locate a restaurant by making suggestion and giving us a map and directions. Breakfast was good. Room was quiet especially for exterior corridors. I slept great! We will definitely stay here again next time we come visit family.
