Arghhh… I don’t know where to start… this might be a long review and it will probably get ugly. Buckle up and let’s go! Sad Part I: Interestingly, when I searched for this place, sadly AFTER I had my nails done here, Unilocal opened up with a disclaimer on the salon’s Unilocal page stating that reviews had to be removed because Unilocal found many reviews had come from the same IP address! After today’s experience, that actually now makes sense to me. Very sad… Sad Part II: As my trip to Chicago is ending in a couple of days, my girlfriend & I wanted a little ‘girl time’ so, a manicure for me and a toe polish change for her. We called up a nail salon I found on Unilocal, made our appointments for later in the day… all good, right? Yeah, well we ended up going to the wrong place and decided to look inside anyway and if they could accommodate us, we could cancel the appointments at the other salon. And that’s what we did. Sad Part II started when my friend was seated in the pedicure area, where by the way there were only 2 other customers receiving pedicures, while I was relegated to an empty manicure station. To sit alone. Separated from my friend… the whole idea was spending time ‘together’, remember? And let me also add that on a Saturday afternoon, there were only 2 other customers there beside me and my friend! Guess that should have been my first clue, eh? Super sized Sad. Part III: The male nail tech finished my friend’s toe polish change and came over to where I was sitting. Alone and definitely had been unwelcome in the pedicure area. After he set up his station and sat down, he took a wad of cotton and soaked it in acetone. It looked to me to be waaay too much cotton and waaay too much acetone. Which it was because this made polish leak onto my skin around my nails. And for those of you who are manicure challenged, nail polish removal means NOPOLISHSHOULDBELEFTONTHENAILBEDORSKIN — ATALL. So, I counted to 3 and decided to see if this nail tech was going to clean up my nails before starting to file, etc. Sad Part III here is no, he did not remove the leftover polish from my nails. He just forged ahead. Fast forward to… he did not know how to file my nails without shredding them so I had to stop him and(gently) ask him to file my nails so they wouldn’t be left in shreds; that was followed by my once again stopping him from applying base coat because of the old polish leftover my nail bed and skin and lastly, I then had to tell him the correct way to apply the fresh polish! Finally finished with my manicure(which was mainly me teaching him the proper way to file and polish), I’m walked over to where they have blowers to dry my nails. Guess what? The blowers were not blowing cold but warm air… and not much of it. I asked to be moved to nail stations that had their own blower system and those were working! Hallelujah, baby! Sad Part IV: And this is really ready sad… I wanted to let the manager or owner know that the nail tech needed some assistance in giving a manicure service the proper way. As the place still only had 2 customers, I sought out one of the techs giving one of the two pedicures and asked if I could speak with the owner or a manager. Normally, in my experience, when a customer approaches a manager or a decision maker, the customer can speak in private or at the reception desk. But this was not the case today. The tech I spoke to said she was the manager. I have no idea what her name is since she did not volunteer that info but I can tell you that she did not stand up to speak with me or offer to speak with me in private, and immediately went on the defensive. I spoke to her in what I was sure was a kind but firm manner, which I don’t think should have put her on the defensive and that in of itself makes me wonder how many other customers have spoken to her about the unprofessional and uneducated technician(s) that would cause her to go defensive so quickly… staying on point here though, CUSTOMERSERVICE here is non-existant. No good will. No kind words of apology or «I understand and so sorry». NONOTHING. Oh wait! There was actually 1 thing I got… ATTITUDE… A VERYBADATTITUDE… ANDLOTSOFIT. Sad Part Finale: I sincerely wish there was half a star, or less than half a star to rate here because X-Quisite Nails, while clean and beautiful in appearance and spacious with lots of parking(uh, maybe because they have little to no customers I’m thinking) X-Quisite lacks qualified nail technicians and completely devoid of any customer service. m

I have been here quite a bit since my initial review and I am going to update by downgrading. The service is still luxurious, like what you would receive at a spa, rather than a nail salon. But there has been so much turnover – none of the original crew seems to be there. I stopped in a month ago and received attitude from the woman working the desk. I didn’t realize I needed an appointment as I had never used one before. I turned around and left. Went back for a waxing, they did a good job. And have gotten no-chips and manicures since. Although they guarantee your no chip, mine nearly always chip, and I have to go back to get it fixed. That is so annoying. The entire point of a no chip is to have reasonably presentable nails for two weeks and to not waste further time in the spa. It’s too expensive for this to happen and other nail spas/salons in the area seem to do a better job for less. I still like getting a pedicure here, but I only get nails done when I am desperate and it’s the only place open. Still okay. Still a fan. Just not going to sing the praises of the facility.

Scheduled an appointment for a mani/pedi and leg waxing to get cruise ready. Upon arriving they made me feel like I was imposing on them for being on time. The esthetician kept leaving to answer the phone and to talk to other workers while leaving the room where I was being waxed standing open. When I made the appointment they said it would take 1.5 hours so I planned on 2. It took over 4 and I came away with bleeding cuticles and a burn on my leg where she had shoved my leg into the wax heater. Stay away!

I tried to like this nail salon, but in the end I cannot give it a good review. I went 4 different times and each time the nail tech that I had previously was no longer working there. The product that they use for gel/acrylic nails is inferior. Each time my nails chipped and broke before my next fill appointment was due. I have never had this happen. I have been using either product for over 12 years. The last straw was when I went somewhere else, my nails were in such poor shape that they removed the old product. Ugh, underneath, several of my nails were green. The previous product had lifted and water got underneath and I had fungus growing. Never has that happened, not in 12 years. Also, the cost was different each time I visited, huh? Please, find another salon in which to spend your hard earned cash. This is not the place.

I used to like this place but will no longer go here or recommend this place to friends. I have come here many times and received good manicures and pedicures. Today was a different story. Right after my manicure thirty percent of the nails did not look good and the quality of cutting the cuticles was very poor. I mentioned this to who I believe was the store manager. He told me I could come back and he would fix it but I did not have time to come back anytime soon — I barely get out of the house as it is so thirty minutes away was a big deal. I said I would like half my money back(thought that was fair as my nails did look better than when I walked in just the quality was so bad). He flat out said no because he looked at them and the quality was«ok.» I told him I have been in here numerous times and never complain and the one time I do the customer service is awful. He flat out said to me I am right and you are wrong. I then told him that is fine, based on customer service and the poor manicure I will be taking my business elsewhere going forward and will not recommend this place to friends. If it was just one poor manicure I would come back. But a poor manicure plus awful customer service means loss of my business. Had he merely given me ten dollars for half my really bad manicure he wouldn’t have lost who knows how much money for years down the road. With many good nail salons in the neighborhood, poor customer service means you will never win. When I calmly told him He lost my business he then tried to offer me money but by then it was too late in my mind. So long xquisite nails — I will no longer think of you as a nail salon to make my hands and feet pretty!

While waiting in the drive through for my coffee in Northbrook I noticed X-Quisite nail salon. I decided to stop in and check it out. Wow, to my surprise it wasn’t a small typical nail salon it was large, bright with high ceilings and tastefully decorated. I immediately scheduled a manicure pedicure. I’ll say wow again because Lily was my technician and she was fantastic! My nails were perfectly polished as well as having one of the best leg and foot massages ever! I inquired about waxing services and was delighted to find out Lily did that as well. Ill spare you the details of my waxing but will say it was very pleased with the results. Lily is the BEST! The manager Tommy is also terrific. Always charming and has never forgotten my name or the services I like. I’ve been coming back every week since. Try it you’ll love the shop!!!

Seriously? I made a lunch appointment for 12:30 with Nancy and the manager confirmed it yesterday. I am a working mom and very busy, so this was the only time I could go before my event. I have an hour for lunch. When I got there, Nancy told me to wait and it would be about 20 min. Really? 20 min even when you make an appointment? This was upsetting to me, and they all just looked at me like they could not have cared less. Then the manager suggested I have someone else do my nails. So basically, I could have just walked in and not bothered to make the appointment. I couldn’t agree more with one of the previous reviews that they have ZERO customer service skills, and you would think the manager would care more. On a side note, someone else did my nails there, and she did a terrible job. I got a no chip french manicure, and I have never had someone so HARD and rough on my nails before. I was so uncomfortable while she did my nails. And she was very rude when she spoke to me as well. She also made the tips so thick that my nails ended up looking stubby which I’ve never had a problem with. However, since this place is close to my work, I figured I could go with Nancy again. I will NOT be back. And I don’t even think they care!

Terrible place! This is my first ever Unilocal review but I had to do this since most of the reviews on this place are positive. They are probably written by employees and friends. I got my fingers cut in 5 different places, bleeding and had to wear bandaids for a week. The nail technician was incompetent — it must have been her first time on the job. She was probably 15 years old and kept dropping tools on the floor. I was the only one at the salon and I just wanted to run. The owner put a lot of money into the furniture and other objects. Unfortunately, he missed on the most important part of the business is a well– trained technician. I came back to complain and go my money back. I don’t think this business will last too long. Please stay away if you don’t want to get your fingers cut!

A little more expensive than I am used to, but they do a great job. I indulged in the deluxe pedicure and she did an amazing job. Both times I have been there I have been able to get immediate service. I will be back.

This place is great. They normally have last minute openings which is always nice. The place is nice and big. They also offer great selections of different pedicures, and a ton of color selections. The staff is friendly and they do a great job. I would highly recommend it. Plus the wine they offer is always a plus!

I’ve been looking for a nail place since I moved to Glenview and came across this gem of a place when I was out shopping. I LOVE this place, the nail tech did an awesome job, my pedi was sooooooooo relaxing.(Im a new mom and havent gotten a pedi in quite some time so you can only imagine what my footsies looked like :(). The atmosphere is very relaxing and the place is spotless! I’m not sure if the gentleman in the front who greeted me was a manager or the owner but he too was very very nice. I highly recommend Xquisite Nails, I am a customer for life and have recommend this place to everyone!

I stumbled upon this gem randomly. I couldn’t have chosen a better salon to have my nails done! It’s clean, new and relaxing. The staff is great! I love Lilly who has done my nails and some waxing. They offer drinks and reading material if desired. Attention to detail is utmost. I will continue to go there and recommend it to my friends!!! Also, the ease of making and/or rescheduling appointments is fantastic!

RUN, don’t walk away from this place! They treat customers like they are nuisances and do not deliver services that are promised! The manager Tommi will run this place into the ground. He has zero customer service skills! How did this place even open under these circumstances!?!
