If anyone understands pizza it has to be based on the plain cheese only thin crust. Yes, I give 5starr for the cheese slice that it surpassed my expectations. Keep in mind I’m a previous owner of a pizza place in New Jersey and I know a good pizza. They have a excellent sauce, crust and cheese. I have yet to find a better pizza in 5 miles radius. Try it, it will not disappoint!

Yes, I’m gonna do it… 5 stars for a mall pizza place. They maintain high quality of ingredients, while seasoning and baking the food to perfection. Credit is due where credit is due. The key to a perfect meal at this place is special ordered Strombolis. YUMMMM Here’s what you need to know: their Strombolis are the best — and I do mean absolutely delicious(a steal for only $ 6); they can make anything custom for you with any stuffings/toppings in 15 minutes. Excellent service with a smile. GREAT place for kids. Pizza is just OK Yes, I’m rating a mall pizza place 4 stars. Why? Because despite the expected greasiness, they have made it fresh and tasty. Stick to what they do best(Strombolis) and you will be very happy. The dipping marinara sauce is very flavorful and garlicky. The pizza isn’t bad, but nothing to write home about. They do offer a huge variety of Italian sodas(basically club soda/soda stream with plenty of unique flavoring options) which is a fun touch. Tony & Bruno’s is a classic mall«Sbarro» concept with upgraded ingredients, flavor, and service. The staff and owners(real Italian family born and raised in Italy, as I learned) are very customer service focused. They happily accommodate any custom request and are generous with the ingredients. I am certainly impressed and happy to give them continued patronage when I’m in Northbrook court.

Definitely above average mall food. Perfect place to go if you have kids at the mall with you. We shop at Northbrook court quite often and eat here a lot. I’m a big fan of a slice of pizza along with a Ceasar salad and they do a good job here. I like the Sicilian meat lovers pizza or the New York style Margherita. They offer a combo meal of pizza and a side salad with a drink for about 7.99 that’s perfect for me. I’ve had the Alfredo pasta before and it’s not bad. I like that they sauté the pasta and sauce in a pan right in front of you rather than just store the sauce and pour it over just as you order it. Bonus! They also have gelato here. Creamy and delicious not often you find it at a mall so I go for it sometimes. I usually just go with the chocolate and it’s always on point.

Looking for a good New York slice? Ok, so it’s in a mall, but I have found the best fast foods to be located in a food court. 4 stars for the price, but I guess they need to stay competitive due to the high rents. Try the combo; it’s a better deal than just a plain slice. The sauce is good and when you fold the pizza in half(the New York way of eating a slice) the cheese doesn’t all come off! They say it’s all about the water, and I would have to agree. However, this place nailed it down. I would come just for a quick lunch as it’s an easy in and out. I have even gone as far as ordering a pie to pick up for dinner.

Ok for a mall pizza, but I was hoping for something better with a name like Tony and Brunos. The Greek salad was pretty good, but the pizza was doughy and when I tried to eat it NY style, it would not cooperate. The eating area is very cramped and when some folks decide to pull in the baby strollers, then there is absolutely no room to move around. The dining options in the mall are dreadful and limited, so its either this or Corner Bakery.

Good pizza. I particularly like the Sicilian sausage, pepperoni and bacon slice! Btw, the owner is the same guy who manages/owns the Sbarro at the Vernon Hills/Hawthorn Center Mall. Just an FYI. Just as good of a pizza place. I would definitely return!

Hey, it’s a chain. Hey it’s mall food. It’s A-OK! It’s quick, it’s great for the kids, and we’ve been here many many times over getting pizza. We haven’t tried anything else on the menu, but we have tried most of their pizza slices. From sausage to veggie, to cheese to the loaded Sicilian pie squares, we leave satisfied. I actually really like the crust on the Sicilian. It’s light and crispy, with a buttery goodness. The slices are beyond decent in size, and here’s what comes on the veggie: Tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, cheese, red onions, black olives, and fresh basil leaves. About 5−6″ square and close to 1″ thick. I also really like their loaded meat Sicilian slice with sausage, pepperoni and Canadian bacon. It’s bad good, but if you vow to only get it once a month, there is no guilt. The gang that works here is really super sweet, and the same people have been here for awhile now. In fact, they’ve watched my boys grow up. Like family. They also serve gelato and Italian fizz drinks. Great for on the go!

A slice of their mozzerella and tomato sauce pizza was quite filling — a little pricey, but if you’re craving for a quick bite and are craving for pizza, then this is the best one to go to out of all the eateries at this mall. Dash on some of that Parmesan cheese and crushed peppers; they even give you free iced tap water. +pizza-by-the-slice +located in the Northbrook Mall

This is one of the few decent places to eat for cheap at Northbrook Mall. My husband actually craves their pizza sometimes. =) Honestly, the only thing I order here is the pizza and a drink. I do ask for my pizza«extra crispy» so they leave it in the oven a bit longer than usual. I enjoy topping my pizza with their condiments: cheese, hot pepper, and garlic powder. YUM! I give it 3 stars because I wasn’t too impressed with the salads or soups I’ve had there in the past. Happy eats!

Ugh. Talk about disappointment. I’ll start off with the pros: In general I’m not a huge fan of lasagna, but their spinach lasagna was pretty decent. Their gelato is also something to come back for, especially the Nutella. Nom. Overpriced? Perhaps, but when you work in the mall and are craving something that isn’t overfilling or cakey, dry, and tasteless, gelato is the way to go. When it comes to the rest of their food selection, it’s quite unfortunate. I can’t get a simple salad here without it being oversaturated in nasty vinegarette dressing. The pasta salad in particular really let me down. I don’t want pasta in my vinegarette dressing! Instead of pre-dumping the dressing into the bulk pile you serve your customers, how about… don’t put any dressing on it at all and instead, serve it on the side? Also, would it hurt to maybe sort of. dilute it a bit? Their pizza ain’t nothin’ special and the guy who manages the place has been a little rude to me on more than one occasion. However the rest of the staff is really nice.

Love the spinach lasagna! Not much of a pizza guy, but the other offerings are pretty good. Prices are ok and it’s usually pretty quick. They also have some pretty good gelato and lavazza coffee drinks. Very Italian!

My friend enticed me to lunch here, claiming that the pizza was as close to New York style as he’d found outside of the Big Apple(for a born-and-raised New Yorker like me, this is a never-ending and normally fruitless quest.) However, I’m happy to say he is right; Tony & Bruno’s pizza is right on the Gotham mark. It’s a mall-based enterprise, in Northbrook Court, one where you wouldn’t normally expect excellence in cuisine(you’re done shopping or just out of a movie, and you just want something to eat.) T&B’s is better than ‘just someplace to eat’; they have a pretty eclectic pizza selection(you don’t often find sicilian or stromboli at your typical mall joint, in my experience), not to mention exotic gelato selections for dessert, which we didn’t get to try but looked inviting. I had the simple cheese slice(going for the NY taste) and a small Greek salad, which turned out to be a perfect combo. The pizza was indeed almost a perfect match for NY style; had the server left it in the oven for another minute or two, it would’ve heated up perfectly. My friend had met the owner beforehand; he happened to be there today, and he stopped by for a chat(a wonderful, friendly fellow of Italian origin, and also a former New Yorker), adding a nicely warm and personal element to an already pleasant time. Being a pizza place(in a mall), parents bring their kids though T&B’s all the time, apparently, which can be a distraction, but you have to make allowances for a mall walk-in place. I’d love to try T&B’s again soon, to have that awesome pizza again, and have some gelato to go along with it.

If you go to Northbrook mall, the focus should definitely not be the food. In fact, I would suggest anywhere nearby that isn’t Northbrook court, whether for food or for shopping. If you’re a young 20 something looking for some tail, Northbrook mall is certainly a place to meet other folks around your age, however. The food at Tony and Brunos is altogether pretty decent. It’s not bad, it’s not amazing, and the daily specials are fairly creative. Eggplant pizza sounded creative, until you realize that it’s exactly that: cooked eggplant put on top of pizza, with almost no special seasonings or anything else to complement it. I can do that at home. I call it «pizza pizza», and it involves taking a frozen pizza and putting it in the oven. When it its ready for eating or even before, however, I actually add things on top to complement the flavor. I do understand the«keep it general enough that nobody will hate it» but there is also the«try not to be so bland that nobody will like it» either. Why it gets a knock down to 3 stars from a possible 4 in my book is because the place is so overpriced that it detracts from even wanting to consider it. No matter how big a slice of pizza is, it’s not worth almost $ 5 for a single slice. I can buy a frozen pizza, order a pizza in, and either option will result in far less than $ 5/slice. Sadly, the competition next door(japanese food) fares no better. You’re basically looking at about $ 8 for a $ 4 lunch at both locations. Northbrook court used to be exactly that, a big circle, a court! That included a food court. Now it should be called Northbrook mall, because it’s not a food court. It’s a pair of eateries at best. This mall went completely downhill once they started the restaurant renovations, and replaced functionality(and form) with designer bathrooms. Do people really care that the urinals are fashionable and that the floor tiles are artistic while they are urinating? I’m pretty sure that the answer is no, especially when 6+ restaurants are axed in order to create a bathroom that is basically bigger than Tony and Brunos. Oh, I almost forgot. Don’t forget that this place is full of babies since the childrens stores are nearby(and that there are almost no other options for food), means that you’re going to be eating in stereo with the assistance of some kids. Tony and Brunos: come for the pizza, stay for the crying.

This is a decent place for a quick bite at the mall. Offerings are: pizza by the slice or individual, lasagna, pasta, salads, sandwiches, gelato. Not many choices for each type and expect to pay about $ 10 /person once you include a drink. The food is not memorable but for a fast food place the ingredients used are first class, the food is served piping hot and the speed of service is OK. Good spot for kids. On a side note, the tiramisu is a nice way to finish up your meal here.

It seems like I’m not that impressed with any of the food options in Northbrook Court, but this one is just fine for what it is – and is the fastest of the places that I «frequent». The one day not to go is the day before Christmas or a long school break, as there are way too many people there to be able to get a table… It’s just like a Sbarro, with gelato and Pellegrino, which is totally fine… not spectacular, but good.

Overpriced Sbarro’s, not that Sbarros was that affordable to begin with. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad«Italian» food, it’s just not all that great. The pizza’s a bit above average, and their other dishes are pretty good as well. Good staff, good, fast, friendly service.

We have been here a couple of times. I really like the setup, all though the food seems pretty standard. I am glad that many malls and other places in general are moving away from fast food. T&B is fast casual. The pizza is pretty generic. They also have more standard Italian selections like pasta. They also have Gelato. I looked up Tony and Bruno’s on google and just found out that it is a subsidiary Sbarro’s. Take that for what it is worth.

New Italian /pizza offering at one of two food areas within Northbrook court. Food is decent, food cost is way too high. Slices are a good size, filling. Sauce is not sweet, more savory or herb tasting like a Ragu sauce. A far better choice than Sbarro’s, the standard in funky mall pizza.
