Marshalls

This Marshalls is located inside The Village Of Northbrook plaza, next door to World Cost Plus.
Since I was already shopping in this plaza, I decided to just make a quick stop here to browse.
I was rather disappointed with it’s offering. I did not see any high end brand named handbags or shoes. I also was disappointed to not see a jewelry display case.
If I lived in this area, I wouldn’t bother coming back here.

Terrible terrible service! The women working there with curly hair needs to be lectured on how to talk to people. Store is nice but the employees really destroy it.

Why is it that Marshalls doesn’t like to take things back and they do everything they can to send you back to the store that you bought the items in??? I was trying to return 2 bottle of shampoo that I got in Waukegan right after my hair cut a few weeks ago, after bringing home all the hair products that I got for my new haircut and realizing that I went way overboard, I’ve broad 2 bottles back, neither one had been opened. The lady at the register told me that the price tags didn’t match their system and that I had to go back to Waukegan to return those two… that’s a LONG way to travel to return 2 bottles of hair products. I also had asked her to check another item on another receipt for me to tell me what the item was and was told that it’s Men’s White Under T-Shirts…a) I personally hate any White underwear b) I have not purchased any men’s under t-shirts…Is this how Marshall’s makes it’s money? Selling you things and then making it impossible to return??? This is not the first time I had an issue returning to this chain.
Overall the store is very small, a few designer items, tiny shoes department and even smaller selection of kid’s products. The only good thing I have to say is that they mark their stuff down in timely manner, but be careful to impulse buy, you might get stock with those items…

It’s Marshalls. Nothing I say here is going to sway you one way or the other. You either like it or don’t.

Marshalls, as most places like this, is usually hit or miss. Its got a much better selection than some others i’ve been too but not the best. I will say that if you are really big dude or real tall, they have a pretty great selection of big and tall stuff. Unfortunately i couldn’t find a simple black button up or black slacks (not dress pants) in my size so it was a miss for me that time.
A couple years ago i picked up a pair of new sneakers here for $ 10, so its always worth chacking out.

I’m much more of a TJ girl. I found a dress here, but that was really all that impressed me.

This is the nicest Marshalls I have been to. It is better organized than others. The staff keeps it really neat and tidy — easy to find things, and they ask you if you need help! It’s so easy and quick to shop there that it’s worth a browse now and then — even if they don’t have what you are looking for at the time. They also have great shoe and purse departments.

This place is definitely hit or miss. If they have a fresh shipment in you can usually find great brand name athletic gear and designer clothes. I often see and pick up Polo shirts and sweaters! Definitely a great place in a great location. I stop by here every time I visit this strip mall.

I’ve lived around the corner from this place since I moved up north and honestly never stopped in until recently before a business trip. Looking for a travel bag (because I somehow loaned mine out and don’t remember where it landed) and a couple of last minute outfits, I’m honestly glad I made the visit because I’ll no doubt be back more than once and more than twice!
A cornucopia of bags of all kinds (nice selection BTW), I opted to use a bag I had at home so I could spend my extra $$ on clothes. Of course I hit the sale rack and found a few goodies that I was able to take home with me. A shoe department at this location, whoo hoo! Who doesn’t love discounted shoes? They also have a great selection of the latest and greatest mixed in with some shirts not even a super model could look good in.
Here are the two things that impressed me the most about this place:
1) It’s very organized compared with some of the other Marshall’s stores in Chicago.
2) The dressing rooms are über clean (and I was there on a Saturday). The person taking care of the dressing rooms is doing an amazing job! There were no extra clothes lying around and they were also very clean.
Perhaps the thing I remember the most from this store was my super cool dressing room number card with the phrase «new possibilities» on it, and the dressing room clothes hooks. One said «tomorrow» the other said «possibly» and the third one said «definitely.» At first I just thought these were cute, but the truth is when most people shop here they grab a huge pile of clothes to try on and this helped keep my kooky self organized. I left with a few «definitely’s!»
Of course I’m still talking about Marshall’s here, so I did find a few crap items with ripped seams, but overall nice name brands to select from.

Everybody that knows me knows that I am a huge fashionista of mixing up expensive and frugal pieces of clothing and accessories. This location is a good upscale Marshalls if you are in the hunt for some great bargins!
PROS:
— You can find something new every time you come in
— Designer duds can be found if you dig deep enough and actually look thru the racks
— I found a pair of gorgeous black soft leather booties here priced from $ 350 to only $ 99! A huge steal!
CONS:
— Not too many employees to help you when you need help

Hit or miss, that is the story at Marshalls. But really what else do you expect? Typically it is more miss than hit but every once in a while you can find something really great!
This location usually has a decent luggage selection. The bedding and linen selection though is pretty brutal.

Make sure you give yourself enough time here if you want to find something. I was able to find some really good deals on dresses. The assistant in the dressing room was very kind, and not pushy at all.

Selection of clothes was nice… I was able to find two shirts.
My rating is based on the checkout woman who rolled up my shirts into a giant ball and threw them in the bag. Doesn’t anyone know how to fold a
shirt? Remember in the old days when you bought a shirt and they actually folded it? It seems like a long time ago!!!
Funny part of the story. I stopped at last counter on the way out after paying. Took out my ball of shirts and folded them nicely on counter. A different checker lady walked up and grabbed my shirt and attempted to ring me up. I was like «excuse me… I already paid for those». She said, «Well what are you doing?». I said, «I’m actually folding them!». She looked at me and walked away with no comment… no laugh… no apology… say something… make a remark!!! Unless rolling up purchases is company policy!!!
